Tip: To add the fade ins/outs you can just put the mouse on the upper right/left corner or track until the black circle appears, then drag sideways to adjust the length.

My big question is maybe too advanced but here goes. I record mp4's on my phone, Sometimes there is wind noise drowning out the conversation. How can I see the audio tracks from the mp4 and quiet down or eliminate the wind, or traffic noises? Maybe you might want to do a video on that. Learned Shotcut can be an audio (mp3) editor!! Who knew?! Also learned I can bump left edge to access my Audacity shortcut! (Yes - I like audacity.) Question #1 - Are there audio plugins for Shotcut? And Q#2 - Any way to rubber-band the audio vol level? GREAT lesson, well presented.

Hey Tj...I commented previously on resizing and after watching this video I see at the end you mentioned how to do it, but if someone had been having trouble seeing the tracks for the last 4 videos, they may have had a hard time following what you were doing. Everytime I try to insert audio on a separate audio track it pushes the above video track back to the end of the below audio even though my playhead is at the start. The when I scroll back the video to the start the audio gets smaller?

Yes, right click on the video track and go to 'detach audio' first. Then split the audio where you need. Using the Delete key and X key will remove the track differently, one will leave a gap, they can be useful when removing parts of audio.

Yes, you can mute the track, or right click on the clip and go to 'detach audio' and then just delete the audio clip.

I've already cut my clips and after all hard work I've decided to edit the audio. I've added the normalize and gain volume to all the clips all with the same settings; however, there is some substantial difference between the different clips on the audio - some of them are more quite... Is there a way to fix it?

I did a voice recording from my iPhone to put as a intro for a video. For some reason when I open the audio file in shotcut the voice recording there’s no sound at all. I’ve checked the volume and mute options all seems to be good there. The audio works in other applications but not in shotcut can someone help me out? I even changed the format from M4P to MP3 still same issue

Having problems with adding music, the music track starts to delay and skip. Any suggestions?

Sometimes if the computer is overloaded, playback while editing can be choppy. Does it still skip/delay when the final video is rendered?

I'm trying to make a DJ video with the audio from the tracks. I'm wondering if I can get the audio to match exactly to the video. I'm told to clap before I hit play bc when I edit, i can use my clap to match the audio with the video.

Hi, good question. Yes, the clap is a good idea if you are recording from a separate microphone other than the cameras mic. This way you can look at the audio wave of the video and match it up with the audio wave of the mic track. Does that make sense?

Yes, you can add as many as you'd like. In the timeline area, Right click > Add Audio Track. Can also add multiple video tracks.

Normalise is a filter that puts all audio clips into the same range so at export it is all fine, no ups and downs.

Why would you not go to the horizontal bars just above the timeline, on the left side, click that, click on track options, then select 'audio track'? Imprt your audio file directly to you timeline in the audio track. There is no point putting an audio file into a video track.
