I patterned my last O/U with every type of cartridge I could beg, borrow or buy, there was an amazing difference between manufacturers. I even found some fibre wads that patterned better than plastic wads. I also was given a pair of aftermarket chokes which performed wonderfully. It is well worth doing.

Would you be interested in sharing your findings and data as it would be a great help for us all to swerve dodgy cartridges and wasting our hard earned money thanks. Kurt

Interesting pics of the fouled barrel in the cold. I hand load and use a "hotter" primer and fraction more powder in the cold winter months. And yes, I keep the ammo inside as long as possible before shooting. Thanks for the vid.

Interesting. This is sort of a combination of impact testing and patterning. Impact testing, where you mount and shoot in a smooth movement as you would in the field will show where the gun is shooting for you, and will show gun fit issues. Patterning should be done with the gun on sand bags or a mount for consistency. Then you can analyze patterns without wondering if you’ve moved. Both are good to know, and if you find yourself really struggling with a gun, the testing in this video would be a good place to start.

I load my own 410 cartridges(19g bismuth)and did some extensive pattern testing at a measured 35yrds. Paper target, thick heavy cardboard backing against a further plywood backing. My final load choice would put the whole 30 inch pattern on target(fullchoke) penetrate the paper, cardboard and bury the #6 shot into the ply the depth of the pellet. If I do my bit, bird in pattern out to 45yrds then these do the job no problem

It would be interesting to know which company is making he stuck together shots. As cartridges are at a premium and steering away from poor manufacturing would lessen the sting in our shooting by knowing this the shoddy bunch are ? Great video keep it up fellas 👍👍

A light amount of grease on the threads helps keeps choke tubes from coming loose. Dramatic difference compared to using oil on the threads.

3.30 minutes. See how Andy raises the shotgun before he shoots. This is why the shot is above center.

Is aiming , that's normal. But crowman (Mr. Andy) stands to straigth , like the womens do , when shooting. I think he needs more pitch at is stocks. That's why the barrels went up in all shots. The gun in the impact , should only kick back... To shoot straigth.

The factory ammo quality is incredibly bad. The shot was so inconsistent , Challenger Canada should start shipping to the UK great buisness for both of the commonwealth.

Too much technicality, just shoot the gun, if you miss you miss, if you hit you hit. People spend too much money trying to make a gun shoot straight when they cant shoot to begin with.
