I've been using the 416. It's a great microphone. It's much better than any Rode shotgun mic I've tried. If this truly compares it would be groundbreaking. Only $159 @ B&H. I might just have to buy one to test for myself.

Let me know what you think when you compare the two.

I bought the Synco and honestly I love my AT875R a lot more.
@dylanj8676 Жыл бұрын
Yeah the AT875R is way better. I've used two different Synco D2 mics and they were both muffled, boxy messes. That or a used Sennheiser ME66 is the cheap shotgun mic to get. It's funny how every regular consumer who's used it I've heard from have found them bad, but somehow KZbinrs get really good ones.

@@dylanj8676 I've been in voice acting groups with members who didn't get the boxy Syncos, to be fair. I think I recall a couple of people did, though.

Thank you for this video. Yes please, compare it with MKH-416 and RODE NTG3

I would like to see how it does up against the NTG-5.

Noted. Thanks!

They sound pretty similar. Not exactly the same, but similar. I recorded the Synco Mic-D2 vs the Rode NTG5 vs Sennheier K6/ME66 vs Deity S-Mic 2 into the Zoom H8. I could only really tell the difference between the Synco and the Rode NTG5 on headphones (I tested with Rode NTH-100s and Sennheiser HD75s) when listening to the two side-by-side with the same subject. The Rode/Synco/Sennheiser were all pretty similar. The Deity was a bit more boomy than the other three in the lower frequencies.

Yeah definitely love to know major sound differences between the MKH-416 and this one. Would be good to have a decent shotgun mic for film

Thank you for posting, Tom! We shoot in very high winds, including tornadoes. How well does the Synco D2 perform in high winds?

Awesome! Now I need a low cost replacement for the Sennheiser MKH 50 and I'll be all set!

Wouldn't that be nice. I'll look around to see what comes close

Outdoor test would have been nice, as that is what these mics are mostly used for, but thank you anyway.

I heard some rumors that they send out a high quality mic for reviewers but sell a crappy version on amazon, is there any truth to that and how would you test it?

You would have to buy 2 or 3 of them from different vendors and see if they are all the same

Omg what a poorly executed review, in so many ways. I forgive you , you are a cinematographer. It’s funny, as a PSM, listening to your review how apparent it is. Anyways, if I want to have what I assume is a kickback referral scheme I’ll come back and listen to more comical reviews
