Here's how I coach. I tell my players the PG can only do so much. You have to move without the ball! Don't just stand there. Set picks, get open. I'm huge on defense. I don't care if a player scores 100 points in a game. If you're playing man and the other guy scores 101 against you, you still lost. I tell my players i'm more into offense and defensive rebounds, steals, assist, etc...Offense wins games, defense wins Championships! Every player who has ever played for me knows how big I am at defense. When the shot goes up I want a hand in the offensive players face. No easy buckets. If someone is scoring on you with a hand in their face good for them, but no wide open shots. Best of luck to you all!

also if you know the are pressing after a make, don’t inbound the ball immediately. coordinate where you want your teammates bc they want you go fast and be out of position. make sure you have your two outlets and then shoot the middle

just a little extra tip, a good way to exploit the press is to spread out the backcourt offense and space out their zone as much as possible. Usually there will be a hole in the zone if you space it well enough. Get the defenders to bite on the trap on the outside, and have a teammate cutting, ready to exploit the middle of the court.

I played basketball recently. I did a nice left crossover, but my defender was still going right and he headbutt me near my eye. I was about 5 feet behind the arc and after I got hit I shot the ball as I was falling and I made it. Then I missed 3 lay-ups in a row... Makes sense

Basketball player in middle school here. Try doing pass and cut and screen and pass that way one defender is phased by the screen and it is a 4 vs 5 with that 1 defender behind

The press and zone are two main reasons modern basketball players struggle to develop basketball IQ. It’s too tempting to try and take advantage of the defensive rotations when breaking a press, leading to a wide open 3’s with an extra pass rather than pulling the ball out to set up the offense and utilize screens, cuts, and other off-ball movement to expose defensive weaknesses.

In game remember to less is more.. and in a trap there best defender in that scenario is gonna be the guy to were saying to attack because coaches teach players to force them baseline because then it’s like there’s 3 defenders instead of 2. I agree with all this so good vid👍🏻

In boys ball it’s a ten second count for the violation. Correct me if I’m wrong... but, in girls ball you can take the entire shot clock to advance the ball. So, girls can be really patient, right? Someone who knows the rules please confirm. Also you may be better off getting a violation then, being able to set up your defense rather than being rushed and throwing the ball away and your opponent getting an easy two points. Something to consider...

So that's how it's done. I saw this team who is good at full court press defense and at the same time keeps intimidating their opponent which is i really hate because for me they're showing disrespect to their opponent. If the defender is your size or smaller a good ball fake may cause them jump to try and block your pass. Once they are high up in the air you can dribble through that vacated area!!! Also if the opposing players know that you play with the mind set of an NFL quarter they will hesitate to leave their man open and go and double team you. Because they know if they leave their man alone ... you now have receivers open down field!!!!! And that is trouble. In my old neighborhood the defensive players would say to each other" When that man (me) has the ball whatever you do Stay with your man!!!!" Lol!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣
