100%! music can unite us all, all this social chatter is just continuing to divide. Morgan Freeman was asked how to stop racism- he said 'stop talking about it'. I believe the more you talk about it, it causes that unconscious bias and you start to look for it and potentially act upon it. I try to live by the way of treating people the way I want to be treated- be decent, respectful, have empathy, and help out when you can. You never know what someone may be going through in their life until you can walk a mile in their shoes.

Well said. There is something really creepy about people sounding like they are walking on egg shells among friends and family. George Carlin said it best. When you control speech, you are controlling thoughts, and that's the business they are in". The problem today is that used to be what the government would do. Today it's what we do to each other through social media. I personally think Twitter in particular has dumbed down and hurt our democracy more than any other thing in history.

I absolutely agree, I'm from a small town in Alabama and it's a pretty diverse town. On a day to day basis I've never looked at a black person as different or weird until this past year. With all the crap the media has pushed for a while now I found myself a few months back,, not looking at black people as different, but trying to be overly nice because all of a sudden when I interact at a store or wherever all I can think is "do they hate me because I'm white?" and it breaks my heart when I think about that. I've never had an uncomfortable feeling speaking to anyone of a different race. I just keep fighting now to keep that thought out of my head but the media has done a damn good job creating problems that shouldn't be there! Honestly. I grew up in a collar suburb of Chicago. Very diverse, probably 50% white, 35% Hispanic, and 15% black with a few Asians. You had a few dumb asses that would occasionally say some stupid shit, but real racism was basically non existent. Now that's all anyone talks about.
@sterlingstarz
@sterlingstarz 3 жыл бұрын
@Traci Williams @@brettmartino7117 I agree with y'all both. I remember an interview with Morgan Freeman awhile back, the interviewer was bringing up black history month & race questions etc. One question he asked Freeman was something like, 'how are we going to deal with racism' and he answered "stop talking about it, it's that simple". I feel like we're going backwards when it comes to a lot of things, especially race. Mainstream media & politicians keep talking about, and using one's race to describe someone before they mention anything else, it only further divides us. It's intentional though. They want us divided.

I live near a small town in lower Alabama. I've never looked at how much pigmentation a person does or doesn't have on the outside. I look at what's on the inside. We all have hopes and dreams for ourselves and our families. We love, laugh, live. If injured, we all bleed the same. Think about it this way...a child isn't born knowing how to hate, fear or distrust. They learn these behaviors from the environment they grow up in.

Amen I work at a grocery store and when the riots started and everything was going down I remember when I’d have a customer come through my line that was black I’d think to my self “do they support the rioting and looting going on right now? Do they look at me differently now because I’m not black and think I don’t like them or that I’m privileged?” It was really sad when I sat there and thought about what was going on in my head and realized everything going on with all sides is purely just to divide us at this point and force us in to extreme ideology boxes😔❤️

I used to be a BLM member back when it started with Trayvon. I no longer am. Why? As you said, the original beginnings of BLM were noble ideas. It looking for fairness under the law, and police reform to prevent unfair targeting. Another issue was how police no longer serve their communities as much as seen as a US vs THEM situation. BLM originally had really exciting ideas to bring back the bonds between the police and the communities they served. The goal was to bring people together and promote true fairness under the law. THAT IS NO LONGER THE CASE. Many people who follow BLM now are not into solutions as much as outcomes, and have no clue about the solutions BLM are proposing. Defunding the police. Closing down and releasing all prisoners. Abolishing the court system. Segregating schools and the health care system (because they are "racist"). That is so far removed from solving the problem that is would be devastating to communities. When you have also BLM leaders going on local news saying stuff like "Looting is a form of reparations", I shake my head at how far BLM has fallen and people don't see it. Look at their aftermath. Most of those business destroyed are usually minorities, and women in many of the cities that burned down. These are not rich people. They justify it by saying "They have insurance". These idiots don't understand that RIOT insurance is a separate option to the basic policy that most businesses did not have. It's similar to purchasing Earthquake optional insurance. Same thing. If you want to see the end result? Look into the BLM riots in Ferguson. What happened was they burned down their neighborhoods and the businesses moved to the opposite side of town. The locals in the old area are upset because now they have less access to supplies, jobs and if they do have a job, now they have to commute (which if you are on min wage, can really bite your take home pay. BLM these days fights injustice by shaming and victimizing rather than changing minds with GOOD IDEAS!. That's why I support other groups, but they get very little media attention.

"Black lives matter" can be interpreted several ways. Some are seemingly obvious and agreeable and others can have negative implications. The most negative interpretation is that it is an accusation that people who are white are all racist as they don't believe blacks matter at all. I can't read anyone's mind, so I don't expect anyone to be able to read my mind. The problem with focusing so much on race is that race is a relatively low resolution factor making up who a person is. The differences between individuals dwarfs the differences between the races. We automatically assess every single person we meet and yes race factors in, but isn't high on my list of what I think about someone. We all misjudge each other, even of the same race, on a frequent basis. In Portland Oregon 911 calls were dropped for a while over the summer and if not, several took hours for a response.

Critical Race Theory is being taught at every major American and western university on a daily basis. This will never "go away" until EVERY college that propagates critical race theory is literally defunded. Which will never happen..... and biden just brought it back to being taught at the federal level.

You can't have change without uncomfortable conversations. Most people ignore conversations like that by labelling people, so they can discredit your opinion right away. That way they can keep going on with their day thinking that they are always right. Anyways, appreciate your videos, and commentary as always, take care!

I think he is trying to get people to research who this "they" are he always speaks of in his music. Back in 2000 I began watching the "News" channels to learn & see where I sat on the different political issues. I immediately noticed bias & brainwash. It gradually got worse & more & more apparent. About 2008 I realized I had access to the largest library of knowledge & information ever before available in human history & decided to look into why the media, Hollywood, pop culture & even academia would be pushing a specific position & agenda so hard. That led me into a rabbit hole of truth in history & many other subjects. What I learned flipped everything I thought I knew inside out. If everyone would awaken to who "they" are & what their agenda is, we could unite to change everything & make this world a whole better place.

"Police are underfunded, and too way busy to work." Ask any officer about their shifts and continuous dutiful hours. On top of that, many are forced to pursue active training "on their own time, on their own dime." I didn't any know this until I had an honest conversation with one of them off-duty boys.
