Nice video, could you perhaps give some advice on using shot smaller than size 8? I've tried using small pliers, teeth, fingers but really struggle with them.

Try using stotz as they're profile makes them much easier to handle than round shot and they don't seem to damage light lines as much. I've just made up a hefty slider rig and easily put some size 8's onto 0.20 mm (6lbs) Maxima Chameleon

What shots are those?

Great stuff and easy to follow but when I get to the bank and tie my hook length on and bait up they are always too heavy shotted! Yes, I know I should simply put one less shot on but corn weighs more than maggot which weighs less than meat which weighs less that worm....cant you invent a magic float that just works with everything regardless of how many shots go on it :)

Isn't using bits of fine gauge float rubber any good to prevent shot damaging lines?

One problem most get wrong when shotting up is the actual shot. It is a problem for the majority of anglers picking the shot to buy (softer the better) and no mention here of the shot used! When bloodworm or punch fishing I would always utilise round shot as this gives a positive indication although stots are better for on the drop work in general. Such a shame the shot brand are not mentioned here although I would suggest " Ballabini" kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGLZf5tmqdmEr6c

You can get Anchor split shot at Bass Pro, in the fly shop. Great quality. The floats you can get at: Livebaitfishingtackle.com MtmTackle.com WackerBaits.com And probably a few others. The Thill Light Bite floats are decent.
