Just some random pointers from someone who has WAY too many hours in this game.. When you run a killer can see scratch marks on the ground so they follow you that way. You also make noise when you quick jump vaults (windows / other things to jump through) and all killers get a notification if they are close if you make a crow fly by running next to it unless you have a perk to counter that. Depending on perks the killer has it can make more skill checks on gens / lock up gens / blow up gens. Totems should be cleansed depending on the perks you or the killer has. Some killer perks you HAVE to cleanse glowing totems to not lose, but other times glowing totem cleansing can make you one hit down. On the reverse certain survivor perks you can cleanse totems to give you bonus stuff too. If they are dull totems it just gives you extra bloodpoints at the end. Most of DBD is just learning perks / killers and how to counter them. You'll learn as you go! Best way to learn killer perks is to play against bots in a custom match as killer. That way you get to learn what they see and it's easier to loop them.
