The M850i certainly would be a good addition to your garage Shmee and would be one of the perfect grand tourers ever in your garage and certainly does pack the opulence and the elegance of a supercar but at the same time the comfort of a luxury car making for the perfect package in our current era. Also, if you do add it please take the blue or the red colour it really makes the car stand out. Great video Shmee. Shquad!!!

You should definitely get one! It looks so good and its an amazing autobahn cruiser. The only negative thing about it is that its limited to 250kph and i believe there is no option to get rid of that limiter. It would be nice to go a bit faster on the german autobahn :p

@Stitch you could do that yes. But its funny how they dont offer it from factory. They offer the M drivers package on all of the other M cars. Well thinking about it, its maybe because this is not a proper M car like the M3, M4, M5 are. Its more of a 850i with a few or less M parts than proper M cars have. Just like the M240i is not a proper M car for example. I could imagine the M8 when it comes out has no such limiter or you atleast can get the M driver's package

The 8 Series will likely have the same fate as the 7 Series, 50% depreciation in the first year. Even the 760 that retails for nearly 200k is available within 10 months little mileage for half the price. The 8 Series is unfortunately just a facelift of the 6 Series and is so far away from the Concept model that it doesn't match the status they promised. It was supposed to compete with the S Coupe/Cabrio but it's behind in absolutely everything, the interior is a joke for something that starts at 125k and it didn't even try to learn from the competitor... the backseats don't even have a LIGHT above!

100% you should get one. It's extremely daily useable, it looks amazing and it drives like a real supercar with the all wheel steering and all wheel drive/rear wheel drive. Honestly this is one of my dream cars, maybe the M8 is even better but I think I prefer the M850i as it is less expensive, more useable as daily and probably way more comfortable. It’s very nice Tim. For you it makes sense. The car would be an asset because you can generate income from views. For most of us it’s a liability, and the money would be better spent on a down payment for a rental property. Although I do like this enough to pick one up in 18-24 months at %40 off.

I don't know how BMW manage to package less space inside the 8 Series than you get in a 4 Series coupe. However I look forward to the Grand Coupe and am really pleased that BMW have finally added 4WD to the UK versions. Might have to wait to get a one year old one though.

It would be a nice choice , but in my honest opinion the m5 is one of the best cars bmw has to offer. Interior wise you can’t argue that Mercedes e class is way nicer. But the bmw m5 has 600+ horsepower , 4 doors, drivers very nice. It’s such a good car, it has the best of both worlds. This 8 series does too , however you won’t realize how having 4 doors is such a good thing till you don’t have them anymore.

Would be a nice daily for you. Though, the 40d wont get a problem with diesel-ban in Frankfurt. It only affects Euro1-4 from Feb 2019 and Euro 5 from September 2019. The 40d is Euro6. Still I'd rather take the M850i as fuelmoney doesnt seem to be a problem and V8 always wins. Maybe compare this to your dads DB11.

I think an M850i could be a great addition to the collection, and even the M8 down the road. And seeing as you sound pretty enthusiastic about the idea, I'm guessing it's inevitable. I just hope you go for an original spec with a bit more exciting interior choice. Suggestion: replicate the spec of the last daily you had "the FF" dark blue exterior with crema interior. #shquad

I think the v10 is not a good engine. It sounds very good but it has rod bearings issue as Hell. So I dont think BMW will use the s65b50 engine anymore. Even this socalled new v8 is also having issues so the best engine they have is the v12 from the 7 series. So the v10 and the rod bearings issue will steer me way off cars with that engine, sorry.""
