Been on the search for UXR Guide for days and I must say your channel is the best place I found most of my answers. Well done.

I was a product designer and interface designer for many years before becoming a UXR and I believe this has been an advantage to my research career.

Not just a "short video!" A very informative chunk of 10 minutes -- I'll need more time to digest 🤓. The two PROBLEMS you mentioned are very insightful; I want to learn more about practices to avoid UXR expertise being minimized.

Thank you so much Aona for this insightful video. During Pandemic I felt so depressed so I want to learn a new art but I felt I'm wasting my time if I learn the art with having a lot of other things which have higher priority. So I start learning more about design, I learn how to work with Figma, I created some wireframing, prototyping (hi-fi, lo-fi), I learned about typography, etc. I felt this way I learn sth different and it helps me with my future UXR career. Also, the law of UX has a book apart from a website (by Jon Yablonski) which I just finished. It's a small and great book. I also recommend UXRs to check Behance and Dribble to check other's people designs. I personally enjoy doing so.

Wow, I came to check your link in the description if you have any books recommended. I was amazed by the list. I ordered them from my university library. Looking forward to reading the books. I'm glad you are in the UXR community Aona.

I can't believe how much value I'm getting from your content! There is not a single second that's wasted. Now lots of your peers include things like their favourite exercise routine or bedding products just to prolong the videos.

Re: academic researcher not having product sense when transitioning to UX design: ...How dare you read me so accurately. 😅Quite true though. Thank you for finding a graceful (yet impactful) way to say this.

Yes, it is exactly what a researcher tells me many times - I didn't know that it is possible to do. I think a researcher should assume that everything is possible, even a computer reads your mind.

Hi Aona, maybe introduce some UXR essentials that a UXD should know as well? Thank youuu ♥️

Really interesting video and very helpful for me! I also love the resources and medium blogs you mentioned here. Actually, I am seeking my first job (not intern) in UXR in China but I found that there are so limited job opportunities in UXR. Most of the companies combined the ID, UXD, and UXR in one job. SO it is really hard to find a related job without design background. Just confused about this situation. :(

Hi Aona, is it possible to transition from a UXR to a product designer (and vice versa)? And will the experience of UXR be valuable in design?

Hey, thanks for making this video! Do you ever run into a situation with UX designer expressing that your recommendation being too granular?

Hello! Thank you for your videos. I have a question. I am still trying to learn the reality of the job before diving in head first learning. I am wondering if you know of something I can do to test if I will really like UX research? A quick course or test I can take? Or a way to volunteer or something? I just would like to know more what I am getting into before spending time and money on real courses.

I have some questions: Do you have any good tips for writing good usability test tasks? Sometimes my tasks confused the participants and we cannot get great results from the test.
@AonaTalks3 жыл бұрын
not sure i fully understand.. is it about the language you used? or about task design? What do you mean by "writing"? Is your study moderated or unmoderated?

i am a recent graduate from a computer programming course can i become UXR with no design or coding knowledge?
@RBLXGaming232 жыл бұрын
I don't see how product research would be an appealing choice for anyone coming from the field of academia, other than business. The type of research done in UXR has little in common with academic research.
@AonaTalks2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t agree with this argument - in fact would encourage you to fact check what range of UX research we do in the context of product. Some colleagues I work with have certainly published research papers of their industry work to reputable conferences in academia.

As a HCI student, the reason why I tried to learn UX design knowledge is very simple, the bar for UXR is too high and UXD could be another easier choice
