Half the people here don't realize LZ ran a lot of proam/comps before any FD talk. He has all the qualifications to join he just was a solo person that joined FD not supported by a massive company his first year. He had help with his car by enjuku that's why they were his lead sponsor. He had the event wins to get into pro 2. He chose to move up because he was doing good. He isn't comfortable in a big ass heavy mustang yet. But when he gets more comfortable he will do better. Watch him drive klutch kickers vs the same Cars as FD. It's a whole different story.

And in pro he was ass in the s15 and now he's even worse in the mustang which has a full team and basically sponsored by Ford themselves and the dude ended at the bottom of this year's table. And klutch kickers? Really? First off none of the top guys participate in klutch kickers I think Chelsea does but it's basically a gimmick the only real competition is Alec hohnedale who to my knowledge has never actually won an FD event. Is he a good drifter? In grassroots events yea he's good but if we're talking about FD just look at his placements it's not that hard the only time he gets through is if his opponent DNFs

However Adam LZ wanted a even higher level of competition then he had in FD2 even though I don't think he was truly ready to go up when he did he most defiantly is now. BTW this isn't just an opinion I have and I don't want to argue with about this but I didn't just make it up. The biggest difference between pro1 and pro2 is the money each team has access to to bring to the table. The sheer number of fans he brought though means I wouldn’t be surprised if FD reached out to him initially to push him up to the “main event” state and bring his fans with him. He did not earn his pro2 license. He never competed in a pro am series and placed top 8 to EARN his pro2 license just like everyone else…. Also I’m willing to bet fd did not reach out to him. Why else would he petition?
@DavidProctor21 Жыл бұрын
@@brandon_doe he did compete in pro am though… and he did place top 8. 2016-17 he did pro am alongside Trevor from motion auto and placed 3rd. That was his ticket into pro 2.

@@DavidProctor21 that was not in fact what happened. He ran one single pro am event. Not the series….

I’d like to hear more about this, not even mad as an Adam fan, just all I’ve ever heard about it was he was all of a sudden building a car for pro-spec with Enjuku but afterwards he did earn his Pro license by his finishing place in pro-spec class so I just wanna know where the all but basically bought his license part comes in? Assuming for the pro-spec series? Kinda voids that though after he earned his pro license but that’s just from what I know as of now
@DNRracing2 жыл бұрын
He petitioned for his license for pro 2 because there wasn’t any qualifying events near him. He used his “driver resume” to petition and got it.

Where he then got top 3 in Texas and earned his pro 1 license.

Just here after LZ’s win at E Town, and his seat time in the Supra really transferring to the mustang 🤔 Sure took a while for him to fully show his potential, but he can drive for sure. That backwards entry against James Deane was baller AF.

LZ. Catches a lot of hate for being a KZbinr. He has won plenty of events before FD. He even talked about it on the drift podcast thing. He had to basically put a winning portfolio together and petition for his license. How do you think drivers from other series not associated with FD come over? There have been a ton of FD drivers that have done this before; Pat Goodin, Rob Primo, Geoff Stoneback, Mike Pollard…. The list goes on and on. Just because he isn’t a great driver out of his first season doesn’t mean anything. Hell, look at Denofa….. how many years did he compete before ppl started noticing him, hell look at some of the guys who are still driving (Kyle Mohan) who somehow still have a license and haven’t podiumed lol

From what I remember the year he joined FD he was gonna go in as Pro2(Prospec now) and they only had a few rounds of FD and the few rounds they had combined both pro and pro2 so he said atp he might as well go pro because all the events were the same and he had all the credentials for it.

If you watch the videos from back then he starts building the s15 then realizes the only other cars to drive with of the same caliber are in FD except now Klutch kickers has grown so much he could run the s15 in it. But why do that when his e36 seems to perform way better than the s15 ever did.

I was actually stoked on him going into FD but then the more I thought about it he just didn't take it serious and more as content creation
@thesamaffliction1572 Жыл бұрын
His popularity obviously helped him but the guy is winning proam events against other FD drivers so clearly there’s talent there that got him most of the way. His following just allowed him to pursue a career in the sport because even when he loses, he’s making content which generates more income to carry on investing

He literally won maybe 3-4 events. He never actually competed in a pro am series to earn his pro2 license. Klutch kickers is not a pro am event btw.

Said like people dont buy their way into drivers seats in all forms of motortsport all the time. Could also be argued that bringing "so many fans to the sport" is worth a lot. Monetarily in the short term but essential for sports to grow and survive in up and coming drivers/builder longer term.

It’s just business. People don’t go into business to loose money too much risk. Having someone like him the hypes the sport and gets more a$$es in the seat is all that matters. Life isn’t fair but he has work very hard to become what he’s become. I don’t know him but I’ve been watching for years and it doesn’t take a psychic to realize the man is driven. He deserves short cuts because of his accomplishments because at the end of the day numbers don’t lie.
