I believe focusing on being smooth is the winner. Being smooth forces you to focus on your legs and footwork, almost like a dance, and it keeps your arm loose. Just those two things combined naturally increase arm speed anyways. And, you get better accuracy. At least that's how I learned as a beginner.

I am impressed that people even had an answer to the mph question, I would have no clue. Is this something people know? Is there an easy correlation with distance?

I learned how to adjust my launch angle and have increased my average distance by 25-30 feet off the tee. These videos help so much!

This video is so good at presenting “all” the variables. (Never even heard launch angle discussed before this filming.) Thanks Robbie!

I find it takes thought when throwing into a net to *not* try to throw it with negative launch into the net/target. I have to visualize aiming at a point in the distance.

This is another great informative video! I have been watching, and I have improved my nose angle, so I am throwing more flat and not taking off with the wind. Now I need to work on point of release so I don't throw far right. I am new, I am only throwing my putter (star aviar) so far. I am throwing 130-150ft with the putter.

i just got my techdisc yesterday. I throw slower than I thought and a bit nose up. My launch angle is like 1 to 3 degrees and I have no idea how to fix this without making my nose angle worse.

I would love to try that disc out somewhere and see what the numbers come out to be. Honest question on this: Have you ever come across someone who has "too much spin for their arm speed?" Physics, if my memory is correct (college was a while back) would indicate at some point you could potentially put too much spin on the disc vs its stability rating and the speed being thrown. You could be underarmed for a disc but spin it enough to get turn expected of someone throwing much further.

Ok, cool info, but I’m completely distracted by the new ink. When do we get to hear about and get a better look at that?

The Tech Disc looks fascinating but (without a Tech Disc, which are unavailable for many months) how can one determine one's arm speed relative relative to a disc's speed? i.e. How do I know when I have the arm speed to throw a 7 or 9 or 11 speed disc and get the disc to perform as designed?

Interesting technology. It’s one thing watching you and the guys from OT use it, another thing entirely watching ‘Joe Regular’. Not sure I quite get the gist of negative launch angle (which is a good thing?). Any way time to follow the affiliate link and check it out. Thanks Robbie.

Launch angle (trajectory of the disc) should be positive, nose angle (angle of disc relative to trajectory) should be negative. If you put the disc on an escalator - the disc would be sitting flat (this is nose angle), while the disc is traveling upward and forward (this is launch angle).

Another way to think of it is an airplane coming in to land. The plane is losing altitude (negative launch angle), but the plane is pointed up (nose angle) to land back wheels first. While good in landing planes, in discs this kind of flight path results in the mentioned air bounce.

How do I throw? Slowly. The comments people make on the Disk Golf course are. "We see him all the time". "He probably has good technique, though low distance". "That guy needs to hit the gym". Since I started recording my games scores in a notebook I have 78 games under my belt. I have practiced multiple throwing methods. This week I have been improving on my 20 foot or greater putts. Just today a lesson about feet placement clicked. I still can't get proper snap on the disk. I am wondering if my speed is too low to generate snap? I throw 110 feet on a good throw. My best game was +4 on a 9 hole, par 3 course. I am more consistent throwing downhill.

What are the ideal numbers for nose angle, launch angle and hyzer angle for a 48 mph arm speed? 9 speed 5 glide and -1 turn 2 fade disc ( fairway) driver

Well Im tempted to get a tech disc best speed I've seen on a radar gun is 62 ... But to get the distances I know I am getting, tech disc's sim says I'm throwing more like 64-65 mph, with basicslly perfect angles. I throw a lot, I get a lot of compliments about throwing nose down and throwing long low lines. And holy cow, angles are wayyyy more important than speed. I can throw a disc at 60 mph and with like 7° of hyzer its a about 240ft roller and with about 15° its about a 375-85' shot. Basically getting a good flight is way more important than how fast its thrown.

if we want to get a tec disc, is there one that is better for working on form? I assume one of the drivers.... On that note it would be interesting to see if people's numbers are similar as they switch between throwing drivers, mids, putters....

While I think it is very important to test out these new products that look to be on the leading edge of tech in disc golf. Im also wondering why not one channel ive seen is questioning what is it actually accuratly reading? What I mean is. There are alot of variables into the Tech disc being added to the disc itself. For example. You can have them add it to their under weight disc and the addition brings it up to around 175 grams. But where are they reducing the weight from? Fligjt plate, wing, rim etc and if its under weight then is it giving u only accurate readings of an under weight disc or the flip side of the coin is you can add it to your own disc like Jeese at Trash Panda has done. If the disc is already at 175g and u add the tech disc then its now over weight. And is it then only giving you accurate readings of an over weight disc. Theirs more variables I could say like was it centered properly under the disc etc not to mention no discs really have a big thing in the center of the underside of a disc unless its a light up disc where the battery goes but those arent pdga approved so it makes me think and for these reasons im suprised how many channels are diving into it like its 100% accurate. Again i think it is accurate but what exactly is it accuratly measuring? (And i dont mean speed, launch angle, wobble etc by that) testing these theroies are where content creators in my opinion should be aiming and im not trying to come across nose up about it.

Almost all of those variables would only matter in a full flight scenario. This is just getting a reading from the launch out of your hand where the only thing that matters, other than raw weight is what the player does to the disc.
@erikfickey5033
@erikfickey5033 11 ай бұрын
@@mikethomas5451I fully disagree. All those variables out the hand "calculate to distance" and if your not testing for full flight then whats the point? Speed equals distance, spin rate, nose angle all effect the full flight. Your position makes no sence.
