This is a conversation ive been wanting to hear for a while. I'm sick of parents having 6-7 kids when they can't even feed themselves. Please dont have kids if you are not financially stable. If you cant handle your own finances, you will not be able to handle the cost of caring for a child. (And it's more than you think)

No they shouldn't, only people who are financially stable should have kids to raise them in a better environment.

Don't forget that some people/neighbourhooods/towns/cities/countries are financially unstable because of an intentional decision/acts from some others. If we are to subscribe to the no-$$$-no-children ideology, then wouldn't this be a form of genocide/eugenics?

Better decision making has to be utilised when creating a family, without a doubt.

Children are expensive. Not only you have to feed and dress them, but you may have to take unpaid time to look after them if they get sick, especially when they are younger. Also, you should make provision to be able to support them should they wish to go to uni. If you are really desperate to have children and do not have the means, maybe have one, but no more. Remember that you will have to wait for school holidays to go, say abroad, when the cost is double the normal rate. Also the children may want to have activities which may be expensive. And last and not least, you may want to live in an area (always more costly) where schools are better. I get annoyed with people who have lots of kids complaining they have not enough money. I know a family who have ten kids and complain that they have only 3 bedrooms and seek to get a bigger place from the council. So yes, I agree 100% with what you are saying.

Before having each additional kid you need to set forth on, and execute, a plan to make more money. When you are poor each kid you add will take away from your existing children and you.

You guys are very well spoken and you definitely do your research before speaking on a topic and I truly respect that. I grew up as the middle child of five kids and when I say money was always an issue I MEAN money was ALWAYS an issue. The struggle with money has stuck with all of us growing up too because that is what we were always used to. I agree with everything you two put on the table in this video. Thank you for talking about this. Sensitive topics NEED to be discussed.

Now check this, do average parents spend more time with their kids or with their employer? The employer not only influences the number of kids one may havf but also the we to raise them and where they can live. Its not a matter of money but a matter of how much of our lives we can keep under our control. The more things we want from kids to clothes to cars, the more we invite external control from others for money.

It costs around 300,000 dollars to raise a child to the age of 18. It’s safe to say, most people are not financially, or mentally ready for that struggle Extracurricular activities are very important, I was in a lot of music programs, and my younger brother is into sports, specifically team sports, they build very useful skills

i.e. to combat population growth. However, the problem today isn't exactly population growth, but wealth imabalance/concentration. Globally, we have a lot of resources, a lot are wasted rather than made accessible to fellow beings. We really need a global mindset, a global culture, to help facilitte interaction, cohabitations. Your neighbour of the same race might likely offer you a loaf of bread to quench your hunger, much more likely than your other neighbour from the "other" race. Why? Likewise, your 2 kids will likely gain access to resources from other kids with parents from similar background.

@@commenterperson4481 You do know kids eat alot and you would have to pay child support if your gf put you on it
@commenterperson44813 жыл бұрын
@@chocolateice24 Yes -- good point -- I do know that kids eat a lot, I once was one, and now I feed some. About the gf/bf taking half/etc, it depends on the laws of that land. I live in a state where the "gf" can take many things, even if you aren't married (and have no children) -- but then again, it all depends. But that is besides my point. My point is: the state of being generationally "poor" is managed, by institutions/countries/people. Some of the members of these same people might hold strong eugenics/genocidial mindset, or at least care less what happens to a random population of other humans. Summary: People can kill a generation of people by shooting them. Some can (now) by rendering them generationally "poor". Because of this, I am not convinced that no-$$$-no-kids is a good/safe ideology. It is easily exploitable, and will be.

@@chocolateice24 OK make sense. I hope you are not a proponent of a variant of China's -one- _two_ child policy :) It leads to many other ills, killing of unpreferred sex, import/abuse of sex from poorer countries to meet demand, etc. For me, I don't know, but I don't feel comfortable proposing any rule given that there are existing inter-dependencies with other ills in the society. We can't speak of this issue without considering other dependencies. It's not all about individual responsibility. There's a srious need to develop and strengthen global conciousness, global culture and understanding. I can have zero kids, and pay alot more tax to fee those that have two|more kids. Isn't that an incentive for me to have more|two kids -- even if I don't want to? My point is that a lot of these seemingly isolated/individual decisions are actually a collective/societal decisions. We should address the collective issues that affect us -- e.g. why are some generations of the population perpetually disenfranchised IN ALL COUNTRIES?

_12:17__ "because that child is armed with the skill..."_ Beyond skill is access/network. I will bet that access trumps skills. A lot of people that have the right access/background (in their mind == self built relationships and network) often fair better, regardless of their skill level. This, I find, to be true in many countries, cultures, generations.

Did Eugenics fail or did it evolved? Anyway, many functional aspects of Eugenics program/mindset are no longer covert and centralized. *Sometimes I Wonder:* - If wealth can be managed per population of people: - If media/movies can be used to re-socialize people, and create new norms: - Do we not feel compelled to often questions our perceptions, i.e. to limit the effects of these forces?
