I disagree. Felger definitely wanted to move on from Ullmark when Swayman was on his rookie deal. It’s actually consistent with this point. You don’t need to pay out the nose for goalies. I felt the same way. Give the kid the keys to the car. He’s actually been pretty consistent about this take😂. He thinks good goaltending can come from anywhere. Same reason he thinks the Malcolm Subban pick is the worst pick in Bruins history. He was terrible and you wasted a top pick on him when you can seemingly get a good net guy in later rounds.

No. He’s right about this. You historically don’t need to draft high for a goalie. Patrick Roy was a third round pick. Bobrovsky wasn’t drafted at all. It could legitimately be a Bruins philosophy that “we don’t need to pay 7-10 for someone to mind the net because we have goalie Bob.” The Bruins taking Malcolm Subban in the 1st round might be the worst high pick in NHL history.

I said it weeks, ago...a trade would inject a lot of high picks into the system. They have two good goalies. A good goalie plays better in a great defensive system. The B's would be as fine with what they got- sans Swayman -as the STL were with Binnington...as the highly-paid Rask did not win one of the last two games in the Bruins last finals.

If you could get a legit top 6 winger for Swayman, Sweeney should do it and put Kopisalo in net and bring up Kyle Kyser from Providence to back him up. There is no one on the roster currently who fits the role as a top 2 winger and we need one desperately because the 1st line has to generate points consistently as the remaining lines offensively are big question marks - no gaurantees they are going to put pucks in the net regularly.

Lol there is no option of trading him without essentially imploding the team. Everybody knows they lost all their leverage when they traded Ullmark, which was also necessary. What really needs to happen here is Jeremy Swayman and his agent need to get off their high horse and realize that the kid (no matter how good he is) has won one single playoff round by himself and has never played a full season as a #1. He plays in front of arguably the best defense in the NHL. You don’t deserve to become the highest paid goalie in the NHL at this juncture. Even 8x8 is more than he deserves at this point in time. Too much $$ to ask for. The B's don't have enough in the cap to dole out that kind of money. They'll have to move roster players to cover a paycheck that size. Maybe 6-7 mil x 4 but not 9-10 mil x whatever. The B's aren't going to overpay and not have enough cap space they can use for the trade deadline. What other teams in the NHL is willing to give him an offer sheet for the money he's asking for if he refuses what the B's are offering? They'll end up trading him and for what return?

Sway's only played one 44 game season. His stats have been coddled since he came into the nhl, goalie Bob handpicking his schedule depending on location of game, roster... i.e.: Jeremy played Vegas in Boston, but has never taken on Stone or Jack eichel... They didn't make the trip. So they had Jeremy take that game. I don't think he's met McKinnon in his house. He has not been successful taking on top Western teams in their houses... He doesn't help the forward lines - yet. Doesn't have the strength to pass up ice, creating those long breakaway opportunities like Linus did, and I saw jake, matt, the rat, pasta & others blow those breakaway opportunities Linus handed them. Sway doesn't know how to use the boards to get the puck through the neutral zone- linus had three assists on goals. Jeremy's not near that. Yet It doesn't take long to figure out how to get past him when he gets tired. - John Tortorella and the Flyers figured it out real quick, so did artemi panarin and the rangers.. Lower left post and upper right shoulder - gets nailed third period all the time.
