We have two realms of authority. One is the kings of Government and the other is God. It is true that leaders are ordained by God. He puts men in place but takes them away too. We have been given freedom but our government is governing in their own way now, oblivious and against God himself. Don't tell me you can't see and hear it. We as Christians must stand firm in the teachings of God even against the authority of our leaders in government when it comes to sinning against God. We can not go against God. We MUST use the gift God gave us and vote for the one who is closest to his teachings and speaks the name of Jesus. I hear one who does that and you know of whom I speak. BTW, NO ONE IS PERFECT, even me and you. Vote your Christian heart. Please vote your conscience as a Christian. ❤️

I know some who don't like Trump because they say he lies and they wouldn't vote for someone who lies bc God hates liers. They think that Christians voting for someone who name-calls, lies, and has been convicted of crimes is not a good witness bc the other side is identifying Christians with that type of behavior. I've not heard anyone discuss this in-depth. But glad that you're trying to clarify our role in a "republic" when we actually belong to a Kingdom.

I think what's tough for American Christians is that our system presents itself as granting the voter so much power through their vote. We, in theory, are not Communist China. We aren't the original Christians who lived under Roman dictatorship. We are presented as actually having political power and that can be seductive in a way. If we lived in ancient Rome or current China, we wouldn't have the illusion of political power and we wouldn't be so polarized politically as Christians. To put it another way, we as Christians are way more consumed with politics than a lot of Christians are in dictatorships around the world because we actually have the appearance of political power and we put more into that than we possibly should.

The clear message is that we should vote biblically period. Look at the policies of the candidates. Determine who is honoring the Bible and who is dishonoring the Bible. Why are you avoiding it?

Put up your sword: In Matthew 26:51-52, Jesus says, "Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword". No guns then but doesn't take a brain to know what Jesus wants you to do. God gave free choice, it is your choice and your consequences.

I personally don’t think Christians should avoid politics but churches and church leaders should avoid politics. Jesus says, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." Matthew 22:21 (NKJV). Churches and their leaders have a vital responsibility to nurture the spiritual growth of Christians, as guiding their congregations in faith and fostering a deeper relationship with God is their primary mission. Not politics.
