Please provide Scripture proof that Christ Himself gives the declaration that He is our SABBATH rest and also His Express COMMAND THAT because of this the seventh day Sabbath commandment of His Holy Law is no longer binding. Every time I ask for proof from Scripture, there is silence. Your misguided interpretation does not invalidate a single commandment from His Holy Law. Christ gives us rest of course; what He doesn’t do is ask us to break His Law in order to enter His rest. On the contrary, the book of Hebrews, in chapter 4 gives us an example of when God’s people are obedient. They are then allowed to enter His rest. We are told in scripture that because of the disobedience of Israel they were not able to enter into his rest. Faith and obedience, go hand-in-hand, just as faithlessness and unbelief go hand-in-hand with sin and transgression.. Hebrews 4 tell says that on the contrary, there remains a sabbath rest for God’s people. Th the word that is critical there is the word remains.; something cannot remain if it first wasn’t there to begin with. Remaining remains that it will continue. Hebrews tells us that we are to rest as God rested when he completed creation. The Bible cannot be more clearer. To continue transgressing the Sabbath and finding excuses to break it, and then feel spiritual about it is a disgrace. You are the one who should steer clear from encouraging people to break God’s Law. Or have you forgotten Jesus’s own admonition against those who do such things? “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. It is not your warning, opinions, or comments that matter to me, but Christ and His words do matter to me. I choose Christ and trust me. He does give me a rest. It is ridiculous to even contemplate the thought that in order to enter His rest, I must break his law that is actually was Satan wants us to believe. 'For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.”' This directly referencing the Sabbath Day at the end of creation. Therefore rest is Sabbath here, yes it is (I can already hear your objections and cries). 'Again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”' The Sabbath Day is 'Today' and the reference to not hardening your hearts is towards Christ. As James says, 'Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt' Therefore that day is today which is rejected, which is rest, which is Sabbath, which is only found in Christ, which rest they fail to enter.

Rosa Estrada... There's many good explanations out there. But I truly believe I can convince you to a better explanation... please care to read... Juan 1:3 and Colossians 1:16 tells you Jesus created everything and nothing was made without him. This means... He also made the Sabbath. Matthew 12:8 Jesus lets us know he is the Sabbath and in Matthew 11:28 tells us he will give us rest... So all this tells me. We can rest any day in him. We don't need to wait for the Sabbath to kept it holy. En Deuteronomy 5:14-15 and Exodus 31:16-17 tells you the reason why the Sabbath and for who... En Colosenses 2:14-17 and Galatians 4:9-10. Give you the evidence. That Jesus nail the law to the cross... And took it away. So no one can judge you to what you do on a Sabbeth. En Galatians, it questions the church why go back to those slaved times in which they had to keep certain days. The ones that were bought out of slavery was Isreal, not us. And this goes back to who they were talking about in Deuteronomy 5:15-15 and Exodus 3:16-17 In Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 gives you the idea in which they got together and tought. Even when not being around Paul; the church is to continue doing certain church activities. This happen on the *first.* Not a Sabbeth. Those who were still stuck in those traditions like; holding on to the Sabbeth. Whom were Jews that didn't believe what Paul would preach to them. He was even insulted and mocked. So he left them with there beliefs. This happen on a Saturday. we can see this in Acts 18:5-6. So he went to witness to the non-jews on that certain day. Jesus in Matthew 5:17 lets us know that he didn't come to erease the law, but to full fill them. *However.....* In Matthew 22:36-39 and in Matthew 19:17-21 Jesus didn't mention the Sabbeth. Maybe because he is really the Sabbath as he mention. Jesus only mention the Sabbath to do good. Matthew 12:12. In conclusion: Jesus is the Sabbeth. He nailed it to the cross which is himself. We can go to Jesus anytime. We don't have to wait for a Sabbeth to get to him, but if you practice the Sabbeth... Is like Paul going back to you... Questioning why go back to those worthless practices? Where you slaved like; the Israelites? This commend was given to Isreal and the rest of the commandments were given to them, but that certain one was more like a bond between God and them. One of the commandments was remember the Sabbeth day to keep it holy. Okay. This is an actual day... Yes. But here's another 2 questions. For who was the Sabbath? and the reason why it was to be a commend? Before I answer these questions biblically. Remember, we must understand what was bible in those particular living events. And what we have as bible today. Let's first start with the old testament... Deuteronomy 5:14-15. God orders to keep the Sabbath in remembrance of them being led out of Egypt which they were under slavery. Exodus 31:16-17 shows Isreal is to absorb the Sabbath from generation to generation. And that the Sabbath is to be between God and Isreal. Okey... So, now we know why the Sabbeth was given, right? Okey, moving forward. In the new testament. We see that Jesus now is the Sabbath. Its not no more a day. We can see this in Matthew 12:8. So, the Sabbath now is Jesus... We don't need to follow what was from generation to generation anymore. We find rest in Jesus. We can see this in Matthew 11:28. So, why do I say the Sabbeth ends with Jesus? It is proven that when Jesus died he took that written law. So, now we can do whatever we want on any Sabbath which we can live on any day it ends. We can see this in Colossians 2:14-17. Jesus nail the Sabbath to the cross because he is the Sabbeth. Remember, Jesus never mentions the Sabbath as one of the commandments. He only mention we should do good on the Sabbath in which we can do any day. If you follow the Sabbath as tradition, which was given to those that were brought out of slavery this means. Paul writes to people like you who follow the Sabbath in Galatians 4:9-10. He says, why go back to those principles with no value? You want to return to being slaves? You're still keeping in the days. Which can land on a festival. Any month or years. The Sabbath can land on any day threw out the hole year. But keeping them is now a why? So, in the beginning of the verse tells you. Now that you know God, or better yet... Now that God knows you. Your telling me. God will know you by the Sabbath? You said, the Jews took away the Sabbath, you have to take away the other 9... Nope, Jesus is the Sabbeth and he was put to death. Do you turn your doorknob or open your car door on the sabbath. That is considered work. Just like when Jesus told the cured man to pick up his bed and walk. It was on the sabbath and the Pharisees were outraged because it was not lawful for him to do so. Using your hands to turn a doorknob is work. Matter of fact some people do that for a living. Open a door for people entering. Making a bed, cleaning up after a child, pouring a glass of water, or even lifting a glass or bottle to your mouth is considered work.

Read Matthew 12:1 - 8 When his disciples were hungry and began to eat the ears of corn was it Jesus that got upset and told them to stop eating because it is not lawful ? Romans 4:28 " For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the law." It is only because of the riches of God's Grace and Mercy that we are saved not because of anything we have done or haven't done. Not because of anything we will do ( good or bad ) or will ever do or not do. We can lose rewards or gain rewards but we can not lose the gift of salvation; It is a gift given freely because God's Grace/love is greater than our sin. Read Romans, Galatians, Ephesians all Paul's letters to the churches who where true believers and not false brethren which Paul had to deal with a lot. Preaching a false gospel. He said let them be accursed. Really read and study so that when you hear false doctrine being taught you will be able to see all the red flags. The truth will set us free. Free from sin and free from the law. It already has set us free, those who believe it. ( the truth )

The main point SDA claims is Worship should be on Saturday. This fails miserably as we see in the bible a number of references where the followers met and worshiped (also "held a collection") on Sunday - they went to the Synagogue on Saturday to convert and spread the Word. ... Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 let's us know they got together to teach the word. Even, when not being around Paul they would have to do the things the church would still have to do... These 2 verses let's us know they did church gatherings on the first day. We were to find rest on the Sabbath. But now we find rest in Jesus. See also Matthew 11:28.

I have grown up as a Seventh-day Adventist, so it has been no hardship for me to keep the sabbath. My respect to those who make the change at risk of losing relationships with family and friends. There are many of us who worship according to God's original plan. If you ask Him, surely God will guide you to new fellowship with like believers.

I am glad that you are setting apart a day to worship god, but through much research I have come to know that the day of worship for those in the new testament is the first day or the lords day. many people quote Christ saying that He didn't come to destroy the law but to fulfill it. some would say that because Christ didn't come to Destroy the law we still must follow all of the Jewish laws, but it is made very clear in the new testament that in fulfilling the law, it was CHANGED. Hebrews 7: 12 says, "For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law." in this change from the old testament to the new testament many laws were changed, or even discontinued. An example of a changed law is animal sacrifice. to receive remission of sins in the old testament people had to sacrifice a perfect lamb to have their sins forgiven and cleansed. Now we take the sacrament or Lords supper to receive a remission of sins. As for the sabbath it is clear that under the old testament it was the seventh day, but in the bible we read of the disciples meeting together on the first day of the week to have their worship services which included the saints meeting together, taking of the lords supper ( a changed law), and receiving preaching from church leaders. If you study early christian history you see that they were no longer observing the sabbath, but worshiping on the lords day long before 320 A.D. Jesus is the Sabbath. Matthew 12:8. In the New testament. Matthew 19:17-21 and Matthew 22:36-39. Jesus never mention the Sabbath as being one of the 10. Maybe because he was literally the Sabbath. When Jesus died on the cross. As him being the Sabbath; the Sabbath was also put to death. So we shouldnt keep the Sabbath or any other day. Because that action took away that commandment. We can see that all of this in colosenses 2:14-17. In the times of the church. Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 let's us know they got together to teach and continue with the word. Even, when not being around Paul they would have to do the things the church would still have to do... These 2 verses let's us know they did church gatherings on the first day. Friend, we were to find rest on the Sabbath. But now we find rest in Jesus. Matthew 11:28.

Mastery4Living - I believe those of us who do this are richly blessed. Jesus kept Passover with His disciples. I find it very difficult to believe, if the law was done away with, that He would have done this. To say the Law/Torah was done away with is to say God's word is done away with. What are the ramifications of that? It means we diminish the Word of God, we diminish God This is heartbreaking to think about. Deeper study of scripture reveals that Jesus IS the Torah. He is the I AM of Exodus and He declared it in the Garden when all the soldiers fell backward. I believe this is the narrow path of which Jesus told of.

It is a beautiful thing to want to keep the sabbath and passover meals if you so desire In your heart in faith and obedience out of genuine love for the Lord. But if you somehow think you are "more blessed" by this you are being self righteous and doing it to gain favor amongst men and dare i even say the Lord. I'm a Christian, Anglican or protestant as people call it. I read the Bible for myself when I started to get to my own consciousness and found out that Sabbath is indeed Saturday not Sunday. I questioned my parents why we keep Sunday but they told me that it's because the Lord resurrected on Sunday but I wasn't satisfied. I went before the Lord for myself for many times until I became mature enough to understand what He was saying. Even after he had confirmed to me that He still means His Sabbath. You know it's not easy to break down traditions that have been for long, I went out to work on the Sabbath day, not out of stubbornness but I prayed for God to show me a sign if I should keep the Sabbath. To be honest with you He did it, and the sign was painful, it costed me a full week's labour. I'm glad to tell you today that though fellowshipping in an Anglican church, I keep the Biblical Sabbath.

There are good lessons as to why we don't have to keep the sabbath, many on why we have to. Those on the teachings of why we must are the same as why we don't. It is just crystal clear that nothing in scripture says conclusively that Saturday is done away with. So called church fathers diluted much of the gospel after the death of the Apostles and just like all men, we are corrupt and all that remains true is the Word. Sunday is the day our Lord rose again & conquered death, why wouldn't we gather to praise, pray & worship with like minded believers. It's taught one-way or the other on both sides. I have peace honoring both days. Inconvenient to my flesh to have no me days even though I just had 5 of those. I believe many do both days and a good church won't judge you for that. Continue to keep the SABBATH holy because it's the 4th Commandment of the Lord. But you must keep all the Ten Commandments because James 2:10 states that anyone who keeps the whole Law (Ten Commandments) and yet offend in one point are guilty of all. The Jewish people worshiped on the Sabbath in the Synagogues. The Christians worshiped on Sundays in their homes, in the catacombs, any place that was convenient and safe. 2) The Catholic Church possesses the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus said to Peter, “I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven.” [Matthew 16:19] Jesus gave Peter the authority to change the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday. And Peter, having been with Jesus during His ministry, and having seen the actions of Jesus on the Sabbath, did use that authority under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. 3) The Resurrection was on a Sunday. Jesus resurrected on the Sunday, not on the Saturday. Through the glorious Resurrection, Jesus elevated the Sunday as a day of importance, it having become “the Day of the Lord.” Jesus could have resurrected on the Saturday, but He chose the Sunday. Surely, this was a sign to the Apostles during the early days of the Church. And so the early day Christians met on Sunday to worship. “On the first day of the week, when we met to break bread, Paul was holding a discussion with them: since he intended to leave the next day...” [Acts 20:7] Did you know that the origin of the Church collection on Sunday is in the Holy Bible? “Now concerning the collection for the saints: you should follow the directions I gave to the churches of Galatia. The Holy Spirit chose to come to the Catholic Church on the Sunday. Therefore, those who worship on the Saturday, they do not recognize the tradition of the Church since its early days. They do not recognize Jesus’ gift to the Catholic Church of the Keys to the Kingdom of God. They do not consider the day of Jesus’ resurrection as an important day that should be remembered every week. Nor do they consider the Coming of the Holy Spirit to the Church on a Sunday as a worthy gift to be remembered every Sunday.

This is something that has always been on my mind too about keeping the Sabbath Day as I started reading the Bible when I reconciled with Christ (back in 2013) and went to church on Sundays because that's what I was brought up to believe was the day all Christians worship God. I left it alone and didn't question it much but now I am after having a personal encounter with Jesus, reading the story of Noah again....which is similar to times we are living again...on my search for answers I came across a documentary called "The Days of Noah" on Prime Video, it led me to search even more on how to keep the Sabbath. How can I worship as a Christian on the Sabbath? and how have you arranged your time and schedule now? as I am now working Saturdays half day and my current church has worship on Sundays. Where do I start? I need guidance and like-minded people.

However, I promise you if you pray about it and ask God to provide work for you where you can have the Sabbath (Saturdays) off and put God first he will put you first. Start by spending your Saturdays simply talking to God and refraining from secular things like your entertainment etc. Your life, mental and physical health will improve. As more and more former pagans became believers in Jesus, the Mosaic Law was shown to be Not Binding upon them, and that was shown by the Apostles and Presbyters at Jerusalem in Acts 15, where they with the power of Binding and Loosing on earth given them by Jesus decided that the Mosaic Law and its 613 commandments No Longer applied to the new Christians. Jesus had founded a Great Church for All Nations to which He had sent His apostles to Teach with Authority and which would last to the End of Time. You Disregard the Words of Jesus about Binding and Loosing by His Authorized Apostles in HIs ONe Church for all times in John 17, and take the New Testament books Authorized as Inspired by Catholic bishops in the Fourth century, and now you proceed to Interpret for your little own self What you should Believe and Do. Like some of the people who have commented here. I also do mostly self study of the Bible and I am so grateful to the Lord for opening my heart and my eyes everytime I read His word. This one I definitely cannot ignore because Jesus keeps leading me to His teaching about the sabbath. It is a personal decision for me and I hope to be part of a group that have made this decision on their own after knowing what the scripture says. It is about time we give the sabbath back to the Lord our God and Creator through Jesus Christ His son. Amen.

I totally agree on this one. There are not only 10 commandments, there are 613 that you would need to follow if you decide to go that route. But God knew that we wouldn't be able to keep all because if you break one you are just as good as someone who doesn't believe. So that is why Jesus Christ came and died for our sins, signifying the end of the "Old Covenant" and the beginning of the "New Covenant". This is where the ideas of Grace and salvation come in. You can't do both the rules and grace and salvation because there was no grace in the "Old Covenant". With that being said it doesn't mean we completely disregard the old testiment because the old testiment is the foreshadowing of the new testiment. I'm not forcing any of these things down your throats but I just thought it would be beneficial to let people know what I have learnt, those who want to listen and dig deeper to get the full understanding can do so but if you don't agree it's okay not everyone will

Thank you so much for this video, I just recently listened to a video that said I should worship God on Sunday with "proof" Verses but then I immediately searched for a video that would help me make sure that Sabbath is the holy day and I feel much better now. This will be the restoration of the world that began with Jesus and that will be completed when he comes again in glory. We are celebrating the fulfillment of the old creation, the first meaning of the Sabbath in the Old Testament. It makes sense then that our weekly day of worship would change from Saturday to Sunday. However, the Sabbath also had another meaning. We need to see how the Resurrection fulfills that one as well. Sunday as the New Exodus In a nutshell, Jesus’ Resurrection marked the new exodus because it was God’s new act of redemption for his people. Just as he saved Israel from the oppressive Egyptians in the Old Testament, so now he offers salvation to all people through the cross and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. As with the new creation, the New Testament never explicitly applies the phrase “new exodus” to Jesus’ death and resurrection, but it strongly implies it. For example, St. Paul calls Jesus “our paschal lamb” who “has been sacrificed” (1 Corinthians 5:7). The word “paschal” refers to the Passover, so St. Paul is actually calling Jesus our Passover lamb. This is significant because the Jewish feast of Passover commemorates the Exodus. In fact, the first Passover was celebrated by the Israelites right before they left Egypt, and God commanded them to repeat it year after year (Exodus 12:1-28). By calling Jesus our Passover lamb who “has been sacrificed,” St. Paul is implying that Jesus’ death on the cross (the moment of his sacrifice) marked a new exodus. However, the Passover was just the beginning of the first exodus. The cross, then, must be just the beginning of the new exodus. Me too back in the 70's when I was in my early 20's I got a hold of a bible, being Catholic the bible wasn't emphasized, what I saw in the bible was so different from what I was taught as a Catholic, I started to cry because I realized I had been deceived by my Catholic Church. I cried out to God to show me His truths so I could worship Him correctly and in a few days a met a woman who showed me many things from scripture, the Sabbath was the most powerful truth and God hears our heartfelt prayers for truths.

The people who have kept the commandments also are the only ones who eat from the tree of life. It's all there in Revelation. We believe there will be people in heaven who kept sunday, but that isn't because they chose to keep that day over the Lord's day. Alot of people did not understand that truth and were deceived by the serpent of old. However Revelation is clear, that when the Mark of the Beast passes, it doesn't matter if you're rich, poor, free, a bondman etc..if you do not keep the commandments when that time comes. You receive the mark. Everyone will have a chance to choose who's side they are on. That's the whole thing. It's quite simple to me.

So sorry for you ... The main point SDA claims is Worship should be on Saturday. This fails miserably as we see in the bible a number of references where the followers met and worshiped (also "held a collection") on Sunday - they went to the Synagogue on Saturday to convert and spread the Word. ... Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 let's us know they got together to teach the word. Even, when not being around Paul they would have to do the things the church would still have to do... These 2 verses let's us know they did church gatherings on the first day. We were to find rest on the Sabbath. But now we find rest in Jesus. See also Matthew 11:28.

One thing we do is acknowledge that the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God. Not my Sabbath and not the Jewish Sabbath. Whether we keep it perfectly or not we acknowledge that no man or church can change what the Lord has blessed and hallowed. We are indeed saved by the Grace of God. But we humble ourselves and love God. And when we love God, we want to obey His Word. We don't ignore His Word. We all sin and come short of His Glory and we are saved by His Grace. However this particular video grabbed me, because I have been drawn by the Spirit of the Lord for some time now about keeping the Sabbath, and although I don't keep it strictly, I find myself extremely aware every Friday evening that Sabbath is here. I find that for some months now, that I actually am resting instead of working on the Sabbath, and I'm happier for it. So then...what exactly got RENEWED???? THe BLOOD. A king cannot go back on His Word. If the WORD declares the keeping of commandments, then those covenant commandments must be kept or there is penalty to pay. The Temple back in the day offered the people a TEMPORARY corruptible sacrifice for their sins. Just what is the job of the Holy Spirit? Did Jesus actually give a new commandment or was it the same old commandment being repeated? Ezekiel 36:26-27 answers both questions. A new heart also will I give you a new spirit will I put within you and I will take away to stony heart out of your flesh and I will give you an heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26 (Heb.10:16-17, proverbs7:2-3, Jeremiah31:33) . Nothing new here same old text from the old testament stated over and over again. And what was the Holy Spirit's job ,keep reading verse 27 of Ezekiel 36. : , and and I will put my Spirit within you causing you to walk in my statutes , and he shall keep my judgments and do them. So when you receive the holy spirit you keep the law, including a perpetual fourth commandment. The law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul and needs no changes. So what's the only thing new that Jesus told the people to do? This do you in remembrance of me... oh communion to take place of the sanctuary service because the lamb had already come. Let's take a look at the different translations of Hebrews 4:8 Kjv says " For if Jesus had given them rest ,then would he not afterward spoken of another day . " And verse 9 says : "There remaineth therefore a test for the people of God . " All the other versions including the new king James have changed it to some rendition of if Joshua had given them rest then God would not afterwords spoken of another day, God didn't afterwards speak of another day. God says he will not alter anything that came out of his lips. He is perfect and he doesn't make mistakes. If we move back up to verse 4 the change becomes plain . Verse four says God rested on the seventh day. Jesus rested on the seventh day after his work was done. He did not afterwords speak of another day according to the King James Version. But the changes in the other versions make it appear that he did but those changes don't make sense when you read verse four. Or when you look at Malachi 3:6 which says I am the Lord and I change not. We can depend on Him because he doesn't change . The Bible says he is the same yesterday today and forever later on in Hebrews 13:8.

I really appreciate this, I've been a Christian most of my life and recently I'm dating a wonderful Honduran woman, and expecting to marry her. She goes to a 7th day Adventist church and has a love and zeal for God like I've never seen before. I went to church with her today, and even though it's a Spanish speaking church, I got alot out of it and plan on going back with her. Since I've met her it's definitely caused me to think about what I eat and about the sabbath day.

Love this! The Holy Spirit laid it on my heart earlier this year that Sunday was not God's Sabbath. I had known for decades that Constantine and the Papacy were behind changing the Sabbath to Sunday but here in my tiny Alaskan town all of the Protestant church services are held on Sunday. With the continued leading of the Holy Spirit I stopped going to church on Sunday and began honoring the Sabbath at home. I now more like-minded Christians have joined me and we worship together, with all of us participating, every Sabbath. I still go to Wednesday night Bible study at my old church and volunteer at their thrift store once a week. Update: I deleted and reposted this. I read every reply to my original post; several of which were ignorant and hateful. Rather than answer everyone individually, from here on out, I'd humbly ask anyone who disagrees with the 4th Commandment to study the Bible and see what God has to say about the Sabbath. This was not a decision I came to lightly. I studied the importance of the Sabbath. For. Months. Before I started honoring it (as I try to honor all ten of God's Ten Commandments). I even found a website that gave different denominational statements on the Sabbath, none of which could back up with scripture the practice of Sunday worship. The best argument, by far, came from the Catholic church. Before I go any farther if anyone thinks I'm basing the Catholics I'm not. I have lots of Catholic friends and relatives that I love. I'm also not basing Protestants who worship on Sunday. The Catholic church's stance on Protestant's worshiping on Sunday is that we're all a bunch of hypocrites. Their reasoning goes like this - the Protestant Reformation was all about disavowing the authority of the Catholic Church ("authority" to do such things as to change the Ten Commandments by removing the 2nd Commandment all together and then splitting the 10th Commandment into two in order to make up for erasing one of them). The Catholic church now claims sole responsibility for changing the Sabbath to Sunday. That's where their stance that all Protestants are hypocrites comes in. The Protestant Reformationists said their highest authority was going to be God and the Bible NOT the Catholic church, and yet the majority of Protestants ignore the Sabbath in favor of worshiping on the day the Catholics say to worship.

Unfortunately many churches including the one I go too is declaring that Sunday is the Sabbath. When my pastor said this I automatically thought that my Lord Jesus did not abolish the law and many are being taught false teachings. I value the Sabbath very much and it brings me closer to God. I don't just read or learn about Jesus on Sabbath day and in church on Sunday, BUT throughout the whole week, but Sabbath from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown is a whole day dedicated to my Lord Saviour. A whole day I put aside problems in life and unwind and relax learning about my Heavenly Father is absolute treasure. Thank you my Heavenly Father for this special day.

I have been following Sabbath day as a holy day which is sun down of Friday until sun down of Saturday. I realized that I was given the chance to see the truth and given that opportunity was a blessing from God. I am a Christian and raised up as a Catholic. I was baptized when I was a baby but the Bible did not say we should be baptized when we are a baby. I think I want to be baptized once I acknowledge and have consent on it. I want to be baptized but I also did not want to assume the religion of the church who will baptize me. I've been a Sabbath keeper for many years and I've been accused of being part of the SDA cult, of being a legalist, of not knowing my Bible, etc... I use the same verses you did and people basically use the same ones some people have used in the comments. Unbelievable! Don't people know that you can't make a doctrine out of one verse? Weezie The purpose of Christ death is to bring us back into God's glory as it was the time of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden before the fall. At that time there is only one command not 10. Do not eat the tree of knowledge of good and evil. God is not affected by time,space and matter.He is eternal. He does not rest like we human being did. When He rest on the seventhday, it is not a physical rest. It is spiritual, making it Holy is His covenant to man when He finish His work for making heavens and earth and sanctified it in heavenly realm. The sabbath rest that was given to the Jewish people are carnal. It is only the shadows of the work of Christ on the cross. Awesome brother. I just can’t see why is so hard for Christians to see that the Sabbath was never abolish. This is one reason why it’s so hard to keep it cause every business want to be open on Sabbath. Maybe I can help.... we must not only keep the Ten Commandments but also the commandments of Jesus, the apostles, and the Church. Jesus gave us “a new commandment” when he said, “Love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34). In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus repeatedly said, “You have heard it said . . . but I say unto you . . .” (Matt. 5:21ff). Jesus said, “He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me” (Matt. 10:40; cf. Luke 10:16). And he said of the Church, “If [anyone] refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. Truly, I say to you, whatever you [the church] bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you [the church] loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matt. 18:17-18). Why not Saturday? While the Catholic Church agrees with Seventh-day Adventists that Christians are obliged to keep the third commandment, we do not agree that for New Covenant followers of Christ the obligatory day of worship is the seventh day. According to the New Testament, the holy day Christians are bound to keep cannot be the Sabbath of the Old Covenant: Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in regard to food or drink or in respect to festival, or a new moon or a Sabbath day-things which are a mere shadow (Gr.-skia) of what is to come, but the substance belongs to Christ (Col. 2:16-17). St. Paul indicates here that the Sabbath is no longer binding on Christians. He calls it “a mere shadow.” It is interesting to note that the inspired author of Hebrews uses the same Greek word-skia, or “shadow”-for the animal sacrifices of the Old Covenant that are no longer binding on Christians, either. Hebrews 10:1 says: For the law, having but a shadow (Gr.-skian) of the good things to come, and not the exact image (Gr.-eikona) of the objects, is never able by the sacrifices which they offer continually, year after year the same, to perfect those who draw near. All Christians agree that the sacrifices of the Old Covenant were shadows of-and foreshadowed-the one and true sacrifice of Christ. But many do not make the similar connection and see that the Sabbath also was a shadow of its New Covenant fulfillment. A shadow presupposes the existence of that which is substantial in order for there to be a shadow. Does this mean that the third commandment itself is a mere shadow? By no means! The Church teaches in agreement with Scripture that we must keep the Ten Commandments. The Catechism of the Catholic Church calls them “fundamentally immutable” (CCC 2072). Jesus said we must follow them to attain everlasting life. However, Scripture also tells us that the Sabbath is not binding. What is it about the third commandment that is immutable, and what is it that is accidental and therefore changeable? The answer is found in the text I cited before from Colossians 2:16-17. Take note that St. Paul used the same division of “festivals” (yearly holy days), “new moons” (monthly holy days) and “Sabbaths” (the Saturday obligation) that the Old Testament uses in I Chronicles 23:31, II Chronicles 2:4, 8:12-13, 31:3, and elsewhere, when referencing the Jewish holy days and Sabbath. Clearly, along with the yearly and monthly holy days, the Sabbath is included in what St. Paul calls a mere shadow. When St. Paul teaches that Christians do not have to keep the Sabbath, he speaks of the days that were specific to the Jews. He is not saying we do not have to keep any holy days at all. If we look at the context, St. Paul is dealing with Judaizers who were telling Gentile Christians they had to be circumcised and keep the Old Covenant law that has passed away, which would include the Sabbath and other holy days, in order to be saved. During the first few decades of Church history, the question of Jewish and Gentile relations to the Church and the law was a hot topic. As long as the Temple was standing, if you were a Christian of Jewish descent, the Church gave you much freedom in attending the Temple and keeping aspects of the Old Covenant Law. You were permitted to do so if you did not hold that keeping the Sabbath and other holy days was essential for salvation. This text has nothing to do with the New Covenant Lord’s Day that we will speak of in a moment. Jesus: fulfillment of Sabbath rest The Church agrees with Seventh-day Adventists, as Scripture itself indicates in Hebrews 4:9, “So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.” However, the Bible tells us that this “rest” being spoken of is not the seventh day. The “seventh day” was a shadow of a rest that only Christ could actualize. Hebrews 4 seems to indicate that the Jewish “seventh day” has been superseded-or, more properly, fulfilled-in “another day,” “a certain day” that is a new “Sabbath rest for the people of God.” What day is this? Well, it certainly is not Saturday. But in Hebrews, it is not so much a day as it is in a person: Jesus Christ. In fact, the entire discussion of “the Sabbath rest” disappears into the discussion of our “great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God” (4:14ff). The Church connection Many of my Protestant friends would leave the discussion right here saying, “There is no longer any such thing as a day that binds Christians in the New Covenant. See? Jesus is the fulfillment of the Sabbath, not some day we have to go to church.” And they would be partially correct: Jesus is the fulfillment of the Sabbath rest in the sense that only he can give what the Sabbath symbolized. However, in Hebrews 10:1-26 we see definitive movement toward tagging on the Church as fulfillment of all which was merely shadow in the Old Covenant and not just Jesus Christ in the abstract. And this makes sense only when we understand that “the Church” is the body of Christ, as Ephesians 1:22-23 says. We begin in Hebrews 10:1 and move down through 19 to 22 and then to verses 25 and 26: For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come, instead of the true form of those realities, it can never . . . make perfect those who draw near. . . . Therefore, brethren, . . . let us draw near with a true heart in the full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water . . . not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some. . . . Viewed more widely and deeply we see Acts 20 :7 shows Sunday worship 1 Corinthians 19:2 shows that they either had their meeting/ mass on Saturday to Worship then went home and then back the next day (which could have been many miles on foot) to have a collection on Sunday OR that their day of Worship was Sunday and they had a collection on Sunday ALSO !! Why did God write the 10 commandments on stone? The answer may be surprising. We often use the term "written on stone" to refer to something that we consider unchanging or permanent. But God's desire has always been to write His law on our hearts. Abraham, the man of faith, understood this when he "believed God, and He credited it to him as righteousness." (Gen 15:6, Rom 4:3) David, the man after God's own heart, understood this when he prayed, "create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right Spirit within me." (Psalms 51:10) Paul understood this when he wrote to the Corinthians: "... you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the Living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts." (2 Cor 3:3) The prophet Jeremiah understood this when he wrote for God, "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts." (Jer 31:33) Likewise Ezekiel wrote: "I will give you a new heart and put a new Spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." (Ez 36:26) Other Bible writers understood about the "heart of stone" that God wants to replace. Zecheriah wrote, "They made their hearts as hard as flint." (Zech 7:12) The author of Hebrews quoted Psalm 95, "Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts." (Heb 3:15;4:7) So the 10 commandments was written on stone because of the hardness of their (our) hearts. What do you think?

Believe me it's not that easy , it's way more complex than that. First of all how can we be sure that the Gregorian calendar Saturday matches the original Sabbath? we can't , or the lunar Jewish calendar for that matter? the Jews have admitted to chopping time off the calendar, the original Sabbath was created almost 6000 yrs ago keeping today's Saturday doesn't guarantee we have the right one, e.g. the birth of Christ is said to be a couple YEARS OFF!! , some say it was around the year 2 B.C. others differ , are you seeing the problem here? that's only 2000yrs ago let alone 6000. Then there's the issue of the Sabbath being given both at Creation (God sanctified it) and later it was also given to the Israelites (along with circumcision ) as a mark of a covenant, to be kept by future generations pretty much forever (see Deuteronomy) Thirdly the Sabbath is also called by God his "rest" hence suggesting the creation days are symbolic for the 6 000 yrs he allotted man on Earth, plus his 'rest' (the millenium mentioned in Revelation) this appears to be the case since the 7th day is the only day in creation that God did not mention as having an "evening and morning" (see Genesis ) all others do. Isaiah 54:9-10 reads: "I'm God there is no one like me , I declared the END FROM THE BEGINNING, and from ancient times the things not yet done" this suggests each day is 1000 yrs and the 7th represents the millenium, 2 Peter 2:3 explains this: "for let's not forget that for the Lord one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day" Lastly Jesus said "the Sabbath was made for man not man for the Sabbath" and "the son of man is also Lord of the Sabbath" and also he raised from the dead on Sunday so there is an argument for the Sabbath being done away by Jesus' resurrection. As you can see it's complicated. In my opinion as long as you work 6 days at a time and rest the seventh you should be alright I think God just wanted people to not get absorbed into working too much and forgetting to worship HIm and remembering His creation. For the Jews though it's a mark to be kept as to identify them as Yahweh's people along with circumcision. God bless you brother/sister

The Greek word for sabbath also means 'week'. The first century Christians observed both the 7th and 1st days of the week, taking John 5:23 to heart. Today we can do that as well, the LORD giving most of us a 5 day (40 hr.) job, leaving us a way to honor Him more. And we should!

So to remember the Sabbath is to stay home and rest. Going to church is not rest, it used to be the most stressful day when I attended church...morning service, evening service...no time to rest.

The idea the of rest is in God- to rest from worldly pursuits and labour. We should gather together with the saints- however we must be balanced. It maybe that one attends morning services- and the Holy Spirit uses us to minister to someone. Then in the afternoon we can take a nature walk, handout tracks, do an online bible study, study God's Word, spend time in prayer- mediating on the Word and goodness of God. I imagine that you are doing these things and more- God continue to bless your ministry/work in the vineyard for Christ.

Friday is the day of preparation. No need for stress, if fully prepare. All cooking and cleaning done before the Sabbath..put out church clothes, fill up car with gas, pack a lunch if you have to travel. Make the Sabbath a joy. When my children were at home, I packed our lunch, had picnics with songs and Bible stories. We discussed God's love for us in Creation, as we walked through the parks. Then we returned to church for closing vespers. What a treat to look forward to each week! It truly was a rest from our labors.

Tony These verses make the sign of the seventh day obsolete. Heb. 4:7,8, Col. 2:16-23, Rom. 14:5,6, Mat 12:1, Rev. 21:25. Quid pro quo, you list all the commands and instructions the New Testament gives for keeping the 7th day, judging others for not keeping the 7th day, the mark of the beast is 1st day worship and 7th day sabbath is the seal of GOD. Anyone who break the Sabbath shall be put to death. This is true and this is one of the reason why our Lord Jesus has been crucified. Therefore as Christian we are no longer under the law but under our Lord Jesus Christ.
