Why can't christians just play whatever they want?
@PoeticallyChristianАй бұрын
Because certain content in certain games, goes against God‘s will. And it could cost us our soul, if the temptation or sin divides us from God. For example, blasphemy, is the one unforgivable sin, so if the game we are playing, within it promotes, there is no God, or use his language like GD or JC taking the Lord’s name in vain this is a problem, and it’s especially a problem, if we as a Christian, see no problem with it. Also, if the game has Scantly clad female characters, and we are a male, and drawn to that lust, we are actively sending, and this temptation, is a stumbling block between us and God once again, is the game worth jeopardizing our soul, if we continuously willfully sin, and Art remorseful for this? yes God and Jesus are loving, and forgiving, but they also want us to be obedient. This is why Christ said, if you love me, keep my commandments, and John chapter 14, and verse 15. and Jesus also said in Matthew chapter 7, versus 21 through 23 not everyone that says to me, Lord Lord, will enter end to the kingdom of heaven, but those who do the will of my father, which is in heaven. so as I always say, it’s up to us to use our own discernment, knowledge of God‘s word, and the feelings we have in our own heart, whether this game is right for us, and what temp us, I simply let you know what content is in the game, and my opinions on it, and let you make your own judgment. I hope this helps, truly appreciate you watching and commenting, and Lord, willing, we will talk again. God bless!☺️

I enthusiastically participated in Modern Warfare 2 (2009) 'No Russian', is this a problem spiritually?
@PoeticallyChristianАй бұрын
@@pilotwhaleproductions5880 thank you so much for watching, and for commenting, it means more than you’ll ever know! While I have never played call of duty, modern warfare, two 2009, as the old expression goes, if you’ve played one call of duty, you kind of know what you’re in for with all of them. While I’m not sure on the specifics of the campaign, the question is, were you playing the game as a past time, a hobby, something for fun. Or were you excited by the prospect of the violence, being able to take someone else out, perhaps online file language, classy, taking the Lord‘s name in vain, if you were gleefully doing these kind of things, then I would say that isn’t healthy for you spiritually. But if you’re just playing the game for fun, with friends, and see it is nothing more than just that, a game. Then I would say that is OK. as long as the people you are playing with, are not toxic to you spiritually. I myself, don’t play a lot of online games, and when I do, they are only with friends, that I know I can trust, and are just there to have fun, I feel the online community, brings a lot of toxicity to someone spiritually. however, there is great opportunity there, to talk to others about God, and about Christ, and a loving way, and perhaps in a way that they have never heard before, to show them that there’s another way in this life, a better way. And to not just take our word for it, but take God on in their life, and experience it for themselves. A verse that guides my ministry is Paul telling us, that I made myself all things, to all men, that I might, by all means, save some. first Corinthians chapter 9, and verse 22. I guess ultimately, you have the Holy Spirit to guide you, what does your heart tell you about playing the game, is it something that you think is wrong spiritually, or is dividing you from God, if so, then my friend, a game is not worth your soul as I always say. I hope this helps, and I look forward to the privilege of being able to speak with you again, God bless!☺️

Playing as a Jedi Knight is probably a bit antichristian since they don't follow the ten commandments to the letter, namely the 5th commandment. Considering how many times Obi Wan "accidentally" cut off someone's arm, I'd give him a free pass considering it was never ruled as a murder. Just a tragic accident which involved two or more parties at each other's throats and Obi Wan's idea of mediation was to defend whom he believed to be the victim, thus dismembering the aggressor.
@PoeticallyChristianАй бұрын

How would dead space fall on the moral accessibility scale with a lot of violence and dismemberment being a core mechanic
@PoeticallyChristianАй бұрын
@@Dog-je5le I actually did a review of dead space remake on the channel, and that game had a lot of things that wasn’t right for a Christian to play. Such as blasphemy, language, taking the Lord‘s name in vain, and yes, the dismemberment and violence was also part of the game. but it isn’t necessarily the violence that is wrong with the game, it would be the desire and lust for that violence, by playing the game if that would be a temptation someone would have. But the foul language, glassy, and taking the Lord’s name in vain, there was no way of blanking this or getting around it in the game, so therefore I could not give a recommendation to playing dead space as a Christian. If you watch my reviews, I look at multiple fronts of a game, then see if there’s any way within the game, it’s settings or options, to avoid these on Christian like things, and if not, then I let folks know, and if so, I also let people know, and then let you at the end. Use your own discernment, knowledge of God‘s word, and the feelings that you have in your own heart, along with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to be your judge. Why is this in my recommended videos? Dude, everyone had this argument in the 90s after Columbine. This is a free and secular nation with a free market economy. Make your own decisions and remember, most Christians don't fret about nonsense this small. I would suggest you figure out why God, if he exists in the manner Christians believe He does, would give a damn about you playing a video game. I read quite a bit of the Bible in Catholic school, and I have no idea where "born-again" Christians get these oddly specific rules for living from, but it's usually not from the Bible.
@PoeticallyChristianАй бұрын
@@thebernice6062 thank you so much for watching and for commenting, truly appreciate it. As for where I get these, as you say ideas, I’m going to break it down for you. One I tell Christians not to play games that have foul language, if there’s no way of blanking or turning it off in the game, the Bible says, in Ephesians chapter 4, verse 29, let no corrupt communications, proceed out of your mouth. Number two I tell Christian‘s to avoid playing games that take the Lord‘s name in vain, in the Bible, Exodus chapter 20, and verse seven. Thou shall not take the Lord‘s name in vain. I tell Christians to avoid playing games, that have sexual content, such as nudity, or partial nudity, to avoid lust. The Bible says in Matthew chapter 5, and verse 28, I say to you, that if you look upon a woman, to lust after her, you have committed adultery with her, already in your heart. Number four, I tell Christian’s to avoid playing games that have blasphemy, in the Bible in Mark chapter 3, and verse 29, he that will blast me against God, and the Holy Spirit, has never forgiveness, and is in danger of hell. I could go on, but these are just some of the examples of things I try to help Christians avoid, by letting them know what content is in the games they’re playing, so that they can choose to either avoid them, or be aware to them, as someone soul is at steak. truly appreciate you watching and commenting.
