I saw Yes open for Deep Purple on their last tour and they sounded fantastic. That being said, they should call themselves The Steve Howe Band or Steve Howe plays Yes.

The more i listen to Mirror to the Sky, the more I like it; definitely better than the current lineup’s output over the last 5 years or so. I’ll give Def Lep “Diamond…” lp a listen.

Michael, if you are not familiar with Joe Elliotts side band it's called Down n Outz. You have to listen to the live version f Funeral for a friend/ LOVE LIES BLEEDING. Joe plays keyboards and sings. It is an amazing version. One other band to check out is Guitarist Phil Collon side project band called DELTA DEEP. He sings lead vocals on two covers One of Humble Pie song Black Coffee . The second is of DEEP Purple song , MISTREATED. This version on the album has Joe Elliotts background vocals. Both groups are worth checking out live. Let the tribe and yourself leave a comment if you liked the two side groups. Or If it was your first time hearing them.

I wouldn’t be devastated if Def Leppard had never started. As far as Yes goes they should rename themselves DNR. And I’m saying that as a huge Yes fan. I do like Mirror however…sorta. You know you’ve made it when they want you to stop rocking.

They kick ass and kept their drummer. How many bands did that. How many bands now keep their singers when the age debrades the octaves? Hands off this band Mike they are killer rock stars and true people. Not in it for the money only. That in itself along with many many big ass kick ass hits puts them in a class all by themselves. No other band is so tight and has as much class. Hats the Fuck off Mike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Def Leppard would have been good to themselves to stop touring after the early 2000's. Their music still sounded great but, to be honest they really haven't written songs with their typical cool-sounding lyrics. They always had that badass sound to their lyrics. The words they used were ones we'd echo in HS.

I've loved the last two Leppard releases and looking forward to the next even though I didn't care for that single they released last year, "Just like 1973". I assume in the beginning here you are talking about Z Top. Billy Gibbons keep saying there is a new album coming but then he goes ahead and releases more solo stuff. He just released another single about two weeks ago. With Dusty gone the band should call it a day, anyway. Loved your director (your wife) telling you that your image was backwards! LOL

It may be time for Yes to retire as it's not the same anymore. Def Leppard is a maybe for me. New material will tell the tale as long as its done without pitch correction or autocorrection.

Im a big Yes fan and since Davison has joined, the feeling of Yes music has gone. With Anderson and the Geeks creating new music and reinventing the classics, they out class the classic Yes band. Def Leopard, my wife is a big fan, but the last time we saw them was 2016. 9 years does make a difference and I did hear them recently...they did not sound that great. Its time for both to retire or Yes needs to really come up with something as classic as TFTO and try not to sound like the old yes with weak new music.

I like your analysis here Michael! Well sated with an actual history of seeing them! Thanx brother! ❤

@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine I watched a clip this morning from the new Geeks upcoming release of "I've sean all good people", and it was great. Anderson is so on his game. They put Yes to shame, and it hurts to say that.

Michael, I saw Yes last year Labor Day at the Rico Theater on Long Island, they opened for Deep Purple! Purple with McBride on guitar was fantastic! Yes, totally sucked! The keyboard player was a jerk always. Citing like he was the band leader. The lead singer was reasonably close to Jon Anderson but they were horrible! I should note I’ve seen Yes at least 12 times in my life so I think I know what Yes sounds like live!

ZZ Top have not released an album since 2012 and are trading on past glories. As such i believe they are their own tribute band. Also Yes do not contain any original members and Jon Anderson's latest opus is more aligned to the spirit of Yes than the ,admittedly surprisingly good, Mirror To The Sky. So for me Anderson and Squire were the essential members of the band. However i'm not too bothered by Howe trading on the name if they continue to release strong NEW material.
