New truck. Should be a no brainer decision for company and dealership.

2025 Ram SST 1500 in Michigan, $66,000 ….. WTF 🤬 who can afford these trucks .?
@spyder0000692 күн бұрын
Where is the chevy silverado owner going to go? Ford with their recalls? Ram with their new 6 cyl platform? Toyota tundra with their engine recalls? Can't go nissan titan anymore for full size. Basically screwed regardless at the moment. Manufacturers don't have to bend because if they lose 10 customers to ford they will get 10 from toyota.

@@Scroll_Lock ok. Got a question for you all? I’ve got a 2019 Silverado with the 6.2L and 10 speed transmission…..it’s been a great truck so far.( I dont drive it everyday)..just turned 40k miles….but all I read and hear about is how bad these transmissions are! Should I consider getting rid of this truck while I still can get some money for it? Or just tough it out and hope nothing happens for a while?

New Truck, no question. He spent his $ in good faith of the brand, so you expect reciprocal treatment.

I understand the argument for a new truck, and i would want a new truck myself in those circumstances. The problem with the public is if you give them an inch, they want a yard from then on. I get that from the company point of view. That's why agreements are important. What does the agreement say? If it reads manufacturer or dealer option to repair or replace, then that's what it is. Exceeding that standard should be considered exceptional. As to the ROI, again agreed. Now here is where i contradict myself. The problem in these companies, from my experience, is that many companies operate like 8 different little companies. Every department is just concerned about their bonus, score, survey etc. I had to leave a sales at a home improvement company(major) because they were such disorganized dipshyts when it was time to "make things right" with a customer on a screw up. They just didn't get it. They spend 10s and hundreds of millions on advertising to acquire new customers, then drop the ball. That customer is going to tell 5 people about his experience. Your mailer is nothing compared to a trusted friend telling you to avoid. The problem is the marketing is disconnected from service and service from sales and blah blah blah. The result is a problem that could be solved for a few dollars results in delays and frustration for a customer, and when finally resolved doesn't feel good.

Almost 600 miles on it. Get a new truck altogether in for the guy.
@mailborder3 күн бұрын
Take out some Facebook ads limited to your local area telling everyone that is a potential buyer what this dealership did. Someone at the dealer will eventually see it. I bet that would get him more than a new truck. Stay petty in a situation like this.

Yes GM should give him a new truck because this truck will not be a new truck when he gets it back. It will probably have scratches and dents on the fenders, bumper and hood from the techs replacing the engine. But GM has SO MANY lifter failures they cannot afford to give new trucks every time this happens. Sad but true. The only engine GM makes that I would trust right now is the 2.7

I think give the guy a new truck great PR move on it’s just the cost of doing business , I delivered a Peterbilt. 60, 000 gvw fuel delivery truck few months ago 2000 miles on a Cummins 9L , blown engine customer is still waiting on dealer to replace yes it’s under warranty but customer financial loses exceed cost of engine, nobody wins here .

@wilsonhortman4110Күн бұрын
Why is it that manufacturers can pay millions in fines and ceos are paid millions per year but they can't replace a defective vehicle. Gm warranties are the worst. I know from experience. Stopped buying gm in the 80s. Ford has been the best for me.
@traebishop38463 күн бұрын
I'm glad I don't have to run PR for any of these companies. I think GM is damned if they do and damned if they don't. That customer will never feel good about the current truck he has, I agree on that. But who's to say he'll feel good about any GM truck going forward? We know the way some people are with things like this, this guy may not want another GM truck as long as he lives. If that's the case, not even a new truck will make that feeling go away.

At just 594 miles GM would be smart to just give the guy a new truck regardless of what their warranty might state if for no other reason than good PR. But most companies are greedy not smart so we'll see. Otherwise they could simply replace the engine and give the guy a free 100,000K mile bumper to bumper warranty to ease his mind. But at that low mileage it's a lemon and they should take the thing back just to see what happened and learn from it. As for the Kicks Play, hmm, maybe Nissan will use it as a car they give dealers big rebates on to get people in the door as in replacing the Versa but in a round about way. Nissan's decision making since they partnered with Renault and Ghosen came on board has been schitzo at best. Even with Ghosen long gone and Nissan cozying up with Honda they still seem to be just a little hung over. I know what I would do but they don't care what I would do.

What Nissan is doing is giving you an opportunity to rip yourself off. It's like going to a restaurant and the small size is $1.00 and the large size that gives you double the food is $1.01. You would be crazy to order the small yet you know some people will.
