Yes climate change is absolutely a warm and fuzzy thing for people to think about for those who can’t live now. Especially when we have are what is supposed to be a wealthy nation but yet people are living pay-check to pay-check; other nations who pollute at x times we do don’t give a hoot. Nor will they when we as a developed nation tell them “you need to go without” and pull the ladder up behind us. If people can’t see a viable future or a life worth living (house, financial security, eating) why are they going to worry about saving the world in the future.

The problems are interconnected, it's not as simple as your comment or liberal corporate puppets like Charlotte try to force feed; it is in fact even simpler. We either take the action we need to, or we suffer even worse, pay even more, struggle even harder. It isn't difficult to understand. Hiding behind this rhetoric of 'b-b-b-but the economy!' is easy, transparent, lazy false equivalence not understanding that a green revolution benefits both our cost of living, and our quality of living. The only ones it doesn't benefit? Fossil fuel giants, their paid for media buddies, and shills like Charlotte.

The prices of food, housing, and more will continue to rise as food becomes more and more difficult to grow under the new unstable conditions. Housing costs will go up as less and less land will be inhabitable. Production and transportation will become more difficult, leading to higher prices. Direct costs due to increased extreme weather will take up tax money to repair. Climate changes will make it even worse for those who are already struggling

They've pushed us too far, many have woken up from their slumber, Joe Rogan is the media now, exposing the lies. Keep on spreading the word while they try and destroy the earth by limiting free speech.

@Tim05Swedenyep it's not mass-immigration that has increased housing prices. That good ole climate and those UnStAbLe conditions, glad the media has replaced the need for critical thinking.

With these kinds of answers no wonder Trump had taken most people's votes. They should realize no one can build expectation from them if they keep talking these stupid opinions.

“There’s bigger issues than cost of living”. Said by the old man who owns a house. Maybe tell him he’s 22, you earn $1000 a week, rent is $700, fuel is $100, food is $200 and everything else comes to $200. Then see how his opinion changes.

You think cost of Iiving is bad now? Just wait until our arable land dwindles.

So idiotic of him to consider that next generations long term future rather than short term misinformation peddled by the fossil fuel industry. Renewables will make household bills cheaper. Coalition understand nothing about economics, only corporate hand outs.

@@Deano00777that's what mass immigration does to housing, as if demand wasn't tight enough, both major parties want 500,000+ more people every year to call Australia home(pardon the pun)

Climate changes irrespective of human activities. Ice age took place when we were not around.

So it was a complete coincidence that global avg temperature rose from the industrial revolution onward?

So sick of this response, you do realise regardless of how or why we need to act. Our crops are already under stress, how will we feed ourselves when they fail?

Damo Kelly, Instead of virtue signalling and pontificating about climate change in Australia why are you not supporting(there is none as far as I am aware) a movement of boycotting China and India to reduce their emissions. What we do in Australia is irrelevant on a global scale.

There have been three periods considerably warmer than now before the industrial revolution but during civilisations such as Roman medievil and Minoan periods. Saying climate change is caused only by people is just as dumb as saying there is no climate change at all as the climate has never stopped changing with or with out us. The argument should be about how we are contributing to how fast that change is and if our contribution will make that change much greater than it would have been anyway but that argument is too nuanced and complex for the general media to attempt.

The MP isn't struggling with the cost of living with her material wealth and income. Ergo she cannot relate to battlers.

Should they ? Yes Will they ? I doubt it . Cost of living is more important now , not doomsday predictions . Australia's carbon emissions are miniscule compared to countries like China and India
