He never interrupted her, and she never let him speak and the ones who did this " Set Up " didn't stop her bad manners and lack of respect for a human.

John McCririck and Kerry Elliman were both awful guests to discuss this issue. Neither offered a decent argument for or against the sport. I worked as a kennel lad back in the 70s and witnessed very little abuse of these beautiful creatures. They are bred to race and they are happy in their racing kennel life as it's all they're used to. The dogs do get injured running flat out occasionally but according to Ms Elliman greyhound racing has only been around for 100 years, she needs to do her research a little more thoroughly, it's been around since forever. We are on our second retired ex racer and she brings such joy into our lives as did our first. Everyone wants to stop and ask about her and she loves the attention. Coming from a kennel back ground greyhounds all have their adorable little quirks as when they are rehomed usually after 2 or 3 years of racing they take to a homelife as though it's always been their lifestyle. I can through my own experience say it's not a cruel sport, how do I prove that I've no idea? All the London tracks I worked at have now closed and eventually the breed will die out. Ms Elliman can then attack some other sporting event that involves animals, just remember a working dog is a happy dog.

The problem is. Many greyhounds get injured or die racing on course. Ive seen countless greyhounds get smashed off the track on the first bend. Im not saying ban racing. Just make the actual race safer

@@lean2281 You're right of course, it's always the first bend but I don't have any idea how else the races could be run.

@paulnewton3059 not put the bend 50 metres after the start

@@lean2281 That's a good idea, nothing would have to change at the tracks except the race distances. Hopefully by the time the dogs reached the first bend they came to they would have sorted out some sort of order.

@paulnewton3059 the reason that won't happen is because it would be too easy to pick the winner

Kerry is so eloquent and knows her subject so thoroughly and passionately - she did an amazing job!

It should absolutely be banned. Its an old fashioned sport. There's no need for it anymore. I own a retired greyhound and he is loving life not being forced to run.

This is an old news story, but still very pertinent. Even though fashions change, that John bloke looks like something from a time warp between Charles Dickens time and the groovy 1960's. Didn't your wardrobe assistants try to give him a modern update and proper haircut before he appeared on TV? For a minute there I thought he was jimmy savilles younger brother. Glad your newsreaders look groomed.

It's pretty obvious that greyhound racing needs banning now.
