Agree with Coleen and Brenda 100%. Why is the judge bringing his mental health into his sentencing? SOD HIS MENTAL HEALTH! He downloaded INDECENT images of CHILDREN!!! The judge should’ve locked him away and thrown away the key. Why can’t they bring public interest into trials? That would hopefully make better sentences

Would mind betting that he was advised to plead mental health problems so that the judge would give him a lighter sentence. Absolute disgrace he's got away with all this scott free. Loads of people suffer bad mental health but they don't resort to what he has done. 🤬

While I agree with you views his punishment is low... unfortunately the judge has to work in the confines of the law as it is written that is why he got the sentence he did so it is not the judges fault..if we want tougher sentences then it's the sentencing guidelines that need reviewing and changing.

Yes totally agree. He needs to be locked up as a deterrent. This would go some way to help the victims feel like there is some justice in the world. Saying we need to sort the system of CP out is true but we can do both. Lock up the offenders then sort out the CP trade. She skirted around the issue instead of actually condemning him.

The sentencing guidelines in most states of the USA are the same as here. NOBODY goes to jail for this sort of offence if its the first offence. The reason for this is because ITS ENDEMIC. Millions across the world are viewimg it. We dont have the jail cells.

@@braveorslave You are incorrect. 8 out of 10 cases in the UK of perverts with images of children being SA AVOID prison. In US over 99% of those same offenders go to prison. Lack of available prison spaces is not a justifiable reason to allow crimes to go unpunished. 'First offence' - you forget there are victims in these crimes. There is no requirement for a victim to suffer multiple incidents of SA before an abuser is convicted.

The stats would be for England and Wales. This 99% figure youre seemingly pullimg out of the air sounds made up. Wheres your source? If you think 2 out of 10 ppl go to jail in the U.K for this ill set you a challenge. If youre correct it should be easy. Show me just ONE case of anyone in the UK being sent to jail for viewing images without any previous convictions. Show me one. You will not be able to.

It is the same old story. If you have a huge amount of money in the bank, you can commit crimes and receive almost no punishment. For rich people, the UK is a wild west where no laws apply. For poor people, you will be imprisoned for any comparable crime.

Money didn't come into it.. most people with this type of crime do NOT go to prison, perticlaurly if it's their first offence and the judge has the professional responsibility to act within the guidelines of the law as it is written... If we want change then it's the sentencing guidelines for these crimes that need reviewing.

Drug addicts usually have trauma and shocking mental health but they get sent to prison. This is not about his mental health but about his wealth, celebrity status and unfortunately the justice system does not care about child victimisation.

Fully agree with Brenda and Coleen. No matter how bad his mental health is, he will never be as vulnerable as the children who were abused to make the material he kept instead of reporting it to the police. Mental health isn’t a get out of jail free card

I think I think the sentence that Hugh got yesterday is absolutely disgusting if he was just a normal person he would be put into prison but because he’s on the telly doesn’t matter and what about those victims? Sorry but they can deal with Mental Health in a prison, so why not send him to prison, such a high profile person going to prison would send a big message to people who want to commit these offences! The magistrate should have done the proper thing and sent the case to Crown Court for sentencing so a judge could look at this case and give a proper opinion on the case.

What about the Children? I was once one of these Children. know one then or now looks after my mental health and what all these things do to you. Two or three years old, but by the time I was 4 yrs old, (I worked out my age). As i got older I knew this isn't right I neither had a voice or anyone to talk to, with not much of an understanding of what was happening either. I still now feel the utter disgrace that it brings to my thoughts, like a piece of trash no one wants. I was given a life sentence. There are so many of these people getting away with it.

I also liked Hue, i cannot get over his sentance. If it was one of our working class i mean the ones struggling to pay bills put food on the table would be locked up. We are easy to lock people for years for growing a plant.

He should be allowed to keep his £200k (£100k to the wife in the divorce now) and he needs the rest to pay for his personal security upgrade for the rest of his life: He is going to need that cash or he could be at risk from someone like Ray Shoesmith.
