My mother-in-law is 80 years old and she is a widow. She owns a mobile home and is worth around 150K. She still lives in it. She is on Medicaid and she never did any planning before the 5 years lookback period. What would happen if she sells the mobile home and gives all the money to her son as a gift? What is the penalty from Medicaid? Can they tried to get some of that money from the sale of her mobile home? or what could happen?. Lmk.
