My wife and I are planning a trip with our dogs for a week. I have a Grand Caravan, she has a Journey. We'll probably be taking the van! More room, much more room. Both nice vehicles though. I like the Grand Caravan more for a few different reasons. Even having the larger engine and more weight, the Grand Caravan (at least mine) gets better gas mileage. I average around 25, she averages around 23. However, the van is lower to the grand, easier to get in and out of, the sliding doors are so convenient...and we don't even have children yet. Plus, I can tow. I've towed anything and everything I've needed too without hesitation and without second thoughts. Yes, most people don't like minivans for their appearance and for what they "represent", but I love my minivan! I'm a 22 year old married man with 2 dogs, a wife, and soon to have a baby. With the combination of vehicles we have, there's nothing we can't accomplish.

A Grand Caravan is MUCH bigger: ten inches longer and a couple inches wider. The DOORS on the Journey are less convenient for people who are dealing with car seats, even though the back door on the Journey opens to 90 degrees. For a family with young kids, the Caravan is preferable.

I think the most important difference, for most people, is the last sentence...it's not a minivan...so I'll be buying the journey haha

I know this was 3 years ago, but hopefully you got the Grand Caravan. The Journey is pretty ugly to me
