Nice to know, i've bought xing 2205 2300 kv motors for a 3.5 whoop and i wanted to reduce the output to 80% but i was worried about my speedebee 35 amp esc

I can definitely second your theory because I have a load of 4s motors and my 6s rig broke after 2 years and built a beast on a leash and have gone through 3 4in1's and 2 sets of single esc's and I finally gave up on the idea.

I use Hyperlite E 2207.5 2200kv on 6S. Ive been runnng this setup for a few years at full tilt with no probs. Motors run a little warm but not on the hot side. Only thng to be careful of are badly bent props. Havent burned an esc but motors will get hella hot if a prop is really out of shape. Other than that the setup yeeeeeets and really shines with light low pitch props.

For example on a 5" just choose some higher kv motors like 1950kv on 6S. Then if it's too much for you skil or needs, use 85% motor output Limit. When needed push it back up. But dont get 2400kv 4s motors and run it on 6S with MOL...

This has been my approach also. I run the zing 2207 1855kv and limit it between 98 and 94%

High kv motors have lower resistance and will allow for higher burst current and you are correct in that the fets have to work harder to control current flow.

High kv motors also benefit from lowering ramp up power a bit more. I run 20-25 rampup power on 2080kv without a output limit on 6s. Been running it like this for 6 months now. Was flying 1980kv prior the same way. Definitely fried a couple motors but the only escs I fucked up were from crashes that probably woulda killed shit either way imo

Copter 4 inches, Li-Po 4s Motor 1505 3450kv. flight time 16.5 minutes. hover gas 17% (no tricks). With a reduction of 80% to 2760 kv. hover gas 22%, flight time decreased to 16 minutes. and it became somehow uncomfortable to fly due to the sluggishness of the engines, you have to accelerate more. The point is to change the kv. it’s not clear, you can simply not raise the gas above 80%. The engine will still not turn into an economical one.

What about the flip side of the kv question... With 8s escs available, what about running say a 1500kv motor on 8s that only rates itself for 6s? Shouldn't a (single strand winding) 1500kv 6s motor of a given stator size be identical to a 1500kv 8s motor? What could possibly be different between the two?

My ESC broke down because of high kv motor. It was 2700kv . I was running it on 12 volt 10 ampare power supply but it still broke down my 30 amp ESC .

wait do you want to tell me that ill use science 1 year the velox v2 2550kv on 6s 150c without throttle limit and didnt blow my esc? than must be the mamba 55a esc a relly good one xD

Rush matrix 30A BLHELI32 4-1 ESC and EMAX 1606 4000kv on 4s can I use this to change my motor kv to 3000 kv and still run it on 4s???

I need some help. Been flying a nazgul 5 v2 for a year and it just isnt flying good at all. I updated it to 4.3 when it came out and it was fine but out of nowhere its like the fc/esc arent working right. No crashes lately so idk what it could be

New pid profile, try stock pids, retune slowly... maybe new motor if one sounds different then others. Test in motors tab. Props off of course. That's what I would start with. I changed frames. I went with aos5 v2. Easy to build too. Flys great

@@spfpv6753 thanks for responding. That's exactly what I've been doing for the past month and nothing. I think my fc/esc just died after a year of use. It looks like new and everything works as it should on betaflight but the drone don't fly great at all. Stock pid or custom pids/filters
