These dogs aren’t pets and people need to understand, we get these dogs for their aggression and prey drive for sport work. That’s the first answer. Sounds like these people got a malinois, and should not have gotten a malinois. These dogs have been in shelters, and the problem in CA is getting worst. These dogs should require a license to own. I’m sick of these shitty owners. Ed thank you for your answer - agree about letting the dog develop.

I neutered my GSD at 10 years old. He definitely required more management and exercise than a neutered dog would, but it's doable, no accidental breedings or anything, minor male dog on dog aggression that he stopped when told, and he is much stronger and more active than neutered dogs his age. Plus, most of his neutered siblings have passed on and others aged faster than he seems to be. Happy I didn't neuter him until now, hormones are not for reproduction only, they regulate a lot of processes in a body.

would have kept him intact the entire time

What about vasectomy? All the hormones, no puppies.

I'm avoiding intake dog's all of the time. My dog was neuter a week before I adopted him, poor dog but it creates so many issues.

I could never do it to myself so I’d never do it to a male dog of mine, but thats just me. Other things like docking, well dogs do ok with that, so its different…

neutering a dog makes them live shorter lives

My female lab mix was spayed at 6 month when i got her, we had no choice. She has bladder leakage. My Male Mal/GSD, not doing it.

This is a psychological issue has nothing to do with neutering/spaying.

I do not understand the line of thinking with fixing a dog in order to get rid of aggression... Maybe we should give men vasectomy's if they have anger management issues and tubal ligations to women.

It's sad when people want to correct their educational mistakes (which are guaranteed here) with such interventions. In the end, the reputation of the breed suffers from such things. You don't have to be a professional to raise a Malinois. But you have to have the WILL to raise him right.

They are starting to show up in the shelters. Get em fixed! I just adopted a beautiful female and my friend is fostering a mange ridden one.

Don't neuter your dog. You mess up their chemistry. Trust me, I regret neutering my Rhodesian Ridgeback for what I was told would solve his reactivity. It didn't, things got worse!

i'm keeping my beagle intact. he is 16 months. was close to doing it, but i've seen how problems arise shortly there after doing it.

@@WhiteGhost21 definitely. It's unpredictable as to what the outcome will be after neutering. Rather be safe.

@@memeguyTM have you noticed anything else since that you suspect was bc of the neuteirng

@@WhiteGhost21 post neutering there is a lot more unpredictability with his reactions. I strongly believe it is harder to read your dog's emotions/behaviour after doing this.

My opinion is these dogs are not pets

The issue of spaying/neutering is controversial. I personally believe that if you want to breed, then don't but if you won't breed dogs, spay/neuter them when they are at least a year for small dogs and 3 years old for big dogs.
@engineer4862 Жыл бұрын
Why 3?
@whatevergoesforme5129 Жыл бұрын
@@engineer4862 Because big dogs are not yet mature at 1 year old compared to small dogs, according to holistic vets. Big dogs still need to grow and need their hormones for their bones. Dr. Karen Becker, a holistic vet explained about the dangers of neutering and spaying too soon, especially for big dogs. And there is this problem with their adrenal glands as well that will compensate for the loss of sex hormones too early. She said this push to spay/neuter dogs too early is more about the fear of overpopulation so it has become the norm, especially in shelters. And for her, it is better to not spay/neuter if one is a responsible pet owner even if the owner does not plan to breed but she said only a few individuals will be able to protect their dogs from getting pregnant or impregnating other female dogs so spaying/neutering is needed but let the dogs mature first, especially big dogs or else there will be the risk of Cushing disease, brittle bones, and other health issues related to losing sex hormones, especially before puberty.

People aren't responsible enough to have unaltered dogs, and America is at the head of the list in that department. Just look at the numbers of animals needlessly euthanized in shelters every single year. I know, I know "not me though, I'm responsible". Same thing everyone who has an "ooooops" litter says.

Thanks Ed, when I got my European Doberman I was going to have her spayed but decided not to, She is so Perfect. Now I am thinking hard at becoming a Breeder! I appreciate your Videos!
