Should I Sell My AMG GT R Roadster?

In my honest opinion it would be worth selling it. The other AMG’s you have in your collection are way better and worth keeping as they are valuable, but this one feels like a ‘extra’ clinging on to the collection unnecessarily

Yes, definitely sell it, it's a great car, but it kinda feels like a car to hold you over, like say to get an allocation for a special series car. Now that you have said "special series" car, just seems weird to have so many of the same car, despite them being different iterations of it.

Considering the SF90 becoming the daily, the GT R Roadster doesn’t serve much a purpose anymore other than being an open top ride. On a side note, looking forward to a possible first drive in the C8 Z06 and hearing what you think about the flatplane crank V8.

I've commented maybe 3 times on the channel Tim get a new zo6 and complete your u.s collection! I also said he should divide the garage into 4 sections British u.s German and Italian! But I'm with you he should get the new zo6 as they are building right hand drive as well for world market! The zo6 is going to be way more special than a gt500 and maybe more exciting to drive than the Ford gt! Won't look as good but will be faster and it's the most powerful natural aspiration v8 ever! He does not respond and does not talk about it at all and therefore probably not interested and I think he is crazy not to get into the corvette! What do you think about dividing the garage into 4 sections with garage as I said? British Italian German and u.s? And getting the new z06? God bless you❤🙏

I think its a great idea selling this car, and probably buying an F-Type R convertible to replace it if you do miss the front engine convertible experience, still has a V8, still sounds decent regardless of OPF unless you decide to get an older one and honestly great cars too look at and probably is the best replacement to this car.

If it were me, I’d sell the DBS over the GT R roadster. I’m a big AMG fan like yourself and I’d love to see more content with the Roadster, I’ve definitely missed seeing it on the channel over the last 6 months! With added fact that you haven’t gelled with the DBS entirely I think is another reason to keep the GT R roadster.

My opinion of this car changed when you took it to the 'ring. It was so fast! You seemed to be really on it that day and I thought this was a great car to own. I had originally wondered "why bother" when you had the GT black as well, but not after that video. I dont think I would sell that one over some others you have, but if you do, it was at least a great time!

Last year I would have said "definitely no" & as you said you're a big amg fan but there are more amg black series I feel you "need" to own, CLK, SLK and most of all a V12 SL65 As nice as the roadster is, it's not an essential part of the collection where I feel the BS cars will be. Ideal world you keep every car, but realistically some must make way. I do love the colour of the GT though

I think your head is in the right place. While all of your cars are special, selling a couple of common production cars to keep supercars make sense. You already show how much you love the SF90. You have a GTC4 Lusso as well. Selling the Merc, the DBS and the Senna (because it was in minor fender bender) while market is still high makes sense. Keep the rare stuff sell the more everyday cars

Honestly, it would free up cashflow for other vehicles or investment into the Shmuseum, etc. You already have the AMG GT Black series in which you stated will stay in the collection forever. So...maybe a cool targa top project for it? With the carbon central beam in the limited edition they made.

Few things you've touched on makes a few points. Together with everything you have going on it will be a balance act between all the cars, property and what you actually use. Some really collect vehicles really to park them up and use once a month and invest in vehicles they know will be an appreciating in value over time. I'm not saying that's not you, or is, but you had a Pro which is essentially the same car. Saw values going up with it and now you don't even regret it being gone. You may miss this one too, but unless you can just park everything you aquire and be comfortable with them all then some swapping will have to happen. The ones you really feel strongly about, they will never pass your mind to let them go.. Good luck with the decision.. You'll be alright..

Alex kowaliuk here from America 🇺🇸 I'd say you have had a couple of these cars you've experienced them and what they have to offer so my point is yes get rid if it and experience something new. Of course you can't keep them all and keep purchasing more , plus the car market is perfect right now to get top dollar for that car possibly you could get more than what you paid new. Just my opinion your a big boy but don't over think it their just things and if I where able to be in your position I believe I would try to experience as many amazing cars as possible. Leave the C in white but paint all the aero parts in various colours. If I had a LT and GTR roadster and would need to decide which to take out for sunny day drive, it would always be the LT.

No need to worry about selling any of the fleet,if you can get back almost all your money on the gt-r ,given all your cars,you could argue you would be nuts not to do it. My shmee keepers are 675lt Senna Gt40 Sls Gtv8 every thing else would be open to sell/exchange,to freshen up the fleet or release capital for infrastructure. 👍

with the current market you can't predict it going up but selling now is a safe guard against it going down, from what we can 100% factually say, now is a perfect time to sell it, yes it could potentially go up over the next 5 years but it could also go down a lot in value so I truly believe now is an ideal time to sell but at the same time, do what you truly want to do

I think you should definitely keep the GTR. It is such a desirable car it will always have a presence in your collection, and if you sell it will be hard to replace. Perhaps slow down on committing to so many cars, take us on more driving adventures and talking points on the Shmuseum channel with the existing fleet. Perhaps put some aftermarket wheels on your cars to change them up a bit? P.S I know it sounds sounds harsh, but maybe ditch the Lotus haha

Cool video, always hard saying goodbye to a shmeemobile. But as we have learned, it does not have to be a goodbye forever. And I applaud if I may you 'being real' with the audience, awesome to gain such insights in both personal and business considerations. Perhaps find an AMG convertible just to drive as a replacement. Same goes for the G, wouldn't a pre-loved, but well-kept example be something to think about? It is a Shmee150 'shaped' car and possibly, work-related, very useful car for the new extention👍 Thank you very much as always!

Since you're asking, then yes, you should. I like the AMG GT R, GT R Pro, and the GT BS, but the GT R Roadster, I haven't warmed up too, even after all these years. You should also sell your Aston Martin DBS.
