Lower FEES make TSP a good choice...most of the time

I see no reason to keep your money in tsp if you are relatively knowledgeable in investing. Limitations not worth it.

TSP. auto pilot. Familiarity is the key. Especially when you’re old and have memory loss

If you are having or facing legal problems such as creditors, lawsuits, garnishments, levies etc KEEP your money in the TSP!!!!! Its SAFE... IRA its NOT.

The TSP's advantage in fees is fading, or has already faded. The difference is so small in most cases, it doesnt make up for the incredibly small selection of funds. Post retirement, the only use of the TSP I see that makes any sense is the G fund. And even before retirement, transfering out all but the dedicated G fun amount you may want to retain to 59 and a half is looking better and better.

At 59.5 I took most of my money out of TSP and into Fidelity, and glad I did. No fees at all. I am earning 5.5% in short term Tbills, and I can do easy roth conversions. From there, I put some into MYGA's paying 5.7% for 5 years.

Stay forever in TSP and never move it out of the 100% C Fund. Anything else is stupid and foolish!

lol right, those folks don’t know the difference between Roth and traditional and withdrawals from one account and type. Get your money out! The red tape is everything

Yeah, I almost moved all to an IRA, but slowed down. I have a 403B to move to an IRA first. Once that is situated and I feel smarter, I can think about moving the TSP. Maybe I need an advisor.

Problem with TSP is that if you remarry, have to get spousal consent on each withdrawal. IRA is yours to withdrawal without any additional permissions from a spouse or paperwork. This is correct, right Dallon?

I'm projected to have 2 mil on my TSP by age 62. That makes going to work less stressful.

You should mention how, if you’re retired, you can pull money out of your TSP with no penalties before age 59.5.

Fallen do you have any thoughts on how safe money in our TSP will be if Project 2025 is enacted? There is information in it relating to Fed Employees pension and TSP.
