BIDEN FACES CALLS TO STAND DOWN
All eyes have been on U.S. President Joe Biden as more and more people have been calling for him to drop out of the Presidential race.
Well, ever since the presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump a couple of weeks ago, many people have been worried that president Biden might be too old for the job. Even some of the Democratic party's strongest supporters, like Hollywood heavy-weight George Clooney who's helped raise more than forty million bucks for the party's campaign reckon it's time for someone younger to step up. But not everyone agrees. Many world leaders and members of his party have defended the president.
The NATO summit and a press conference held this morning were seen as opportunities to prove his doubters wrong, and despite some slip-ups, like mixing up Ukraine's President Zelenskiy with Russia's President Putin, and his Vice President Kamala Harris with Trump, he says he's still the one for the job.
NAIDOC WEEK MARCH
Thousands of people have marched through the streets of Darwin today for the annual NAIDOC Week March. People took to the streets to celebrate this year's theme 'Keep The Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud'.
WIMBLEDON AUSSIES IN FINAL
Australian duo Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson have reached the men's doubles final at Wimbledon. They defeated the world's top men's team in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. It's Thompson's first Grand Slam doubles final, while it's the fourth time for Purcell. He won at Wimbledon two years ago alongside Matt Ebden.
NAIDOC AWARD WINNER
Now to Naarah Barnes, who won the Creative Talent Award at This Year's NAIDOC Awards. She's a skilled performer, who's also done a lot of work to elevate First Nation voices in Australia's Entertainment Industry. Take it away Naarah.
SLACKLINE RECORD
First up, to a record-breaking slackline. Above the Messina strait in Italy, stretching 3.6 kilometres, it is the longest one ever built. And walking it is stuntman Jaan Roose. But unfortunately for Jaan, just 80 meters from the finish line he fell. So, according to the rules, his walk could not be recognised as a new world record. Still, an impressive feat.
TAP DANCING CENTENARIAN
Now to a tap dancing class in Coffs Harbour where one student is 99 years old! Lorraine has been tap dancing now for 30 years and is still going strong, even though she's turning 100 later this year. She's inspired plenty of others to give it a go, and says she's not hanging up her shoes anytime soon.
AI MAKEUP
And finally to South Korea. Where a cosmetics company has developed an AI-powered system that can scan your face and recommend the exact types of makeup that would work for your skin type. They've also developed a robot that can then create custom makeup colours based on the results of your face scan.
