Here is the issue: Americans are not used to do such short campaigns.. Also... Australian campaigns are also more efficient: in terms of bang for the bucks, in terms of information given to voters (less time to lie around and spin stuff), in terms of time effectiveness, and in terms of getting democratic results. But shifting to an Australian style short campaign would be difficult for the institutions. A lot of rules would need to be changed.

@@kutto5017 Yes and no. I would put it more as a sort of absurd toxic love/hate relationship. If you talk about staying in power: well, both parties are doing that very well and it helps to secure this power. If you talk about politicians having more social advantages because of that system: they also do that... However, it's also a dysfunction that is incredibly costly for the parties. That election this year will cost billions. And it limits the work of servicing the people, which is why their members are elected and why people vote for them... You have elected officials who need to get on the phone every day to get money for the party, which is demeaning and feels dirty. But neither party would want to change that system by working together because they fear losing some advantages.

If I were VP Harris I would construct policy before I discussed policy. She will have her policy agenda on her website for all to see; but right now she seems to be involved in cease fire talks and other VP duties PLUS she has to develop her agenda to perfection so when she talks to the press she will be able to go into depth with answers. So why the rush? Media personalities want some limelight? Sound bites to pick apart and spin around never understanding the words coming from her mouth? Be patient, it's coming.
@monkeeseemonkeedoo3745Ай бұрын
I just want to see unscripted events, where she is pushed at least a little bit. This is a woman who wants to be President, who will have to deal toughly with some world leaders, she should show the people she can handle that. I don't have any confidence that she can, personally. I believe she's avoiding unscripted events and any challenge because she can't deal with it. You can see the debates from 4 years ago, or even interviews of her as VP, and it's obvious that she crumbles.

Trump doesn't engage in interviews: he uses the tv time to repeat his rambling lies and attacks while the press sits back and lets him do it without a single fact check.

I had my doubts, but Kamala Harris hit the ground running with such energy, what a relief 😅 Now we just need her to crush Trump in a debate... And we need the voters to turn up.

@monkeeseemonkeedoo3745Ай бұрын
If she's so bright, she should be able to handle reporters. She can't, she's shown this before, she's afraid and avoiding interviews. Avoiding them harder than Biden did when he was candidate, President, AND had obvious signs dementia.
@campaignresourcesАй бұрын
In answer to that stupid Republican woman Biden and Harris had only 2 years. Then the House went to Republicans and everything stopped. Kamala can't do those things because she is the VP. Do you understand what that means? What exactly did Trump accomplish in four years? Nothing much.
