Who is this magic manager who's going to come in and suddenly make these players perform when they haven't for years most of them. Who is this magic manager who will suddenly make the Glazers look like good owners? Who is this magic manager who will rebuild a new stadium? or make Bruno play simple passes, make Rashford press and be less selfish, improve medical team so we're not playing with Maguire, Evans and children at CB? Who is he? I'd like to know.

These questions are important and can't be answered for. Is it that United have had only bad coaches since SAF departed or is it a dysfunctional environment where success is almost impossible. Certainly seems like the latter.

It's good question that cannot be answered until we see a different manager takes over. A coach can hold players accountable and make them resemble a team on the pitch regardless of who is playing. Whether that team is capable of challenging for the title is another topic, but being ill-prepared and undiscipline on the pitch cannot be attributed to ownership when they are not the ones doing training drills or selecting players for the match. To answer your questions, United's problem is 70% incompetent coaching and maybe 30% ownership disfunction .

I've been in the 'keep Ten Hag next season, it's a off season camp' for the longest time but the thing that puts me off about him is the conceding 20+ shots several matches in a row. This has never been a problem except for the occasional 1 or 2 off games, How is Ten hag not instructing the the team to be compact and rigid to prevent this from happening.

Yeah, because he's bringing through young players to play expansive football, he doesn't have the defence to cope with it, but he will... give him time. You could bring a new manager in, who will look too shut up shop and catch teams on the counter, but that's not good enough and doesn't win titles in long run

Couldn’t agree more. As an Arsenal fan everything that’s being said about ETH was said about Arteta during his first 2 seasons where we finished 8th. After next season if it’s the same again maybe it would then be time to give up on ETH but I still think it’s a bit too early to call for his sacking when we know United are a mess internally and half the squad needs moving on

I think he deserves one more full season. I'm not a Utd fan but let's not forget he has a great first year last season. Won a trophy and got top 4 when nobody thought they'd get top 4. This season the squad has been destroyed with constant injuries to the point they had to sign Evans on an emergency deal cause of the injuries in preseason. When the squad is mostly fit, you can tell Utd have massively improved on the pitch since he arrived. They need to start selling the injury prone players they have though. Can't rely on Varane and Shaw to stay fit, even though they're 2 of their best defenders.

You can't just go by the odds. The night before Ole was appointed as permanent manager he was 6/1 to get the job and Nicky Butt was the favourite. Odds are led by betting patterns which are being led by the media atm. When you see a big change in a price over a short period, that's when the bookies have some actual information.

I don't understand why people say "ETH spent a lot of money" as a criticism of the manager. The club spent the money, and we all know the club is absolute crap at negotiating signings. Did ETH set the price for Antony? United could have had him for $30-35 million at the beginning of the window. 16 players have been brought into the club under ETH, half of which were either loans or free signings. Context matters.

For me EtH is the right man for the job to ultimately transform man utd. Have ppl forgot the sentiment when he got appointed? Man Utd was in the dirt. EtH has only been surrounded by chaos, no scouting department, late panic signings to please the fans, had to deal with off-the-field drama, literally no solid defence, which is the foundation (high line) of the type of football he wants to play. But still I see a lot of silver linings and great potential. We finally see glimpses of Man Utd's academy. Also, I dont get the hate towards Onana. Yes his CL campaign was shocking, but since then he has been great and offers a lot more than De Gea. Man Utd fan base is spoiled because of its history but the PL is not what it once was. Its the pinnacle of football nowadays, the competition is immense. Give him more time in a stable environment with a clear structure, where he can solely focus on training the team. Does EtH have flaws? Sure, but for the last 6 months literally every game has been like a final (lose and get fired). That is not a healthy environment. Mainoo, Garnacho, Onana, Dalot, Fernandez, Martinez, Shaw, an in-form Rashford with some solid signings could really turn into something. I see Antony also slowly progressing. Also took some time at Ajax. Firing EtH would just reset the cycle. What happens if the next manager doesn't get top 4 in his first year? or second or third? With teams like Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, Tottenham, Newcastle, the list goes on its bound to happen. Its time to bite the bullet and move forward

By far the biggest issue, which wasnt really spoken about is the style of play, or lacknof should I say. Theres no pattern's, no plan, no ideas, thats the biggest red flag for removing Ten Hag in my eyes. Other managers lose players to injury, the ones that come in to replace them have a set style of play to implement, Utd dont. Even with a 'fully' fit 11 the football is trash

How people are divided on this is beyond me. There’s no style of play, no patterns of play. Anyone who says there is, is chatting utter rubbish. If former players and managers can’t see it then fans aren’t gonna see it. Injuries are a factor but thats no reason to not form a style. Last season papered over the cracks and everything is coming to light now.

Style of play? Lol. He is unable to implement his style of play with the players that we got. One of the biggest reasons we are failing this season is because he is forcing to implement a playstyle. Last season he played to the strength of the squad and had a decent season. Some of these players are clearly not smart enough for any playstyle under any manager. I mean what exactly do you expect with players like Rashford, Bruno, Mctominay, Maguire who have way too many mistakes in them every game and have hardly improved themselves as players over the years. If someone like De zerbi comes in they will be crying again because these players won't be able to follow high level instructions. People were blaming Ole didn't have a playstyle either that we were only winning with moments. That's what these players are capable of, consistency is not part of their attributes. We have way too many low IQ players.

Nothing will change until the glazers leave. We’re consistently talking about entry level professionalism from these players. Mentality, attitude, work rate, “running”. There is a poison running through this football club, where managers come in with new ideas then after couple weeks they scrap those ideas because the players can’t do it. 5/10 yard passes they can’t execute, defend crosses, how easily our midfield gets overrun, can’t create clear cut chances? An identity, these are the same questions we’ve been asking for consecutive seasons under so many managers.. these players need to go they are not hungry for the shirt or the club.

De Zerbi apparently. Tüchel apparently. Thiago Motta apparently. Nagelsmann apparently. Emery apparently. Yet if people actually looked deeper than the surface of a shiny new hipster Twitter announcement, they’d see why those managers, too, would be destined to fail. All of the candidates have been shown to go through negative moments across their managerial careers. A lot of United fans would have you believe these candidates don’t have negatives simply because the current manager is struggling and these other managers are not. Which is debatable. If we’re only looking at their positives, and only looking at ten Hag’s negatives (despite him having shown a precise, fluent style of play at Ajax and bossing Juventus and Madrid with it), then we should be allowed to see the other sides of the coin too. People are so sharp to make a decision largely based on emotions and recency bias, that they think the alternative is always better. They refuse to look deeper than performance on the pitch because that requires effort. ten Hag was the shiny new toy 2 years ago who everyone promised they’d be patient with whilst he reset the culture of the club and dismantled the player power. Even with clear evidence of him doing this, fans still aren’t convinced because FoOtBaLl StYlE bAD, despite this club having gone the last decade absent of a football blueprint or any semblance of elite athletic direction. In 18 months he’s dealt with what some manager’s won’t ever have to deal with in 10 whole years at a football club. If I was him I’d be struggling to coach too.

He was insisting on bringing De Jong who had no interest in joining Manchester United and lost the whole transfer window because of it. Only good think he did was playing the academy players. We don’t have a game style we depend on individual quality. The only question is who should we get as the replacement?!

At present we're only at least a couple of years behind the top 3 but we should be only 1 year or equal by now but due to EtH over spending & not bringing in the players to give us the necessary depth to deal with a 65 game season. This is what Ronaldo wanted the club to have a chance to succeed but EtH is the reason why we've lost so many games at the half way point cos he was hanging his players out to dry & he's at fault for 6 out of the 12 losses due to poor summer transfers where we want 6 players & only got 3, poor decisions making, poor preparations, poor assessment, poor team selection, poor squad usages & poor In-game management so his Job is definitely under review due to his underperformance as Manager of our Club. Conclusion We recruit EtH to come to our Club as an Approved Coach cos he definitely isn't a Manager in our books so he deserves the Sack so It's best for EtH & his team to pack their bags & go back to Ajax to reinvent himself & bring back Ole & his new management team (Ole & his 3 wise men)! Keep it in the family!

ETH has a style, it's pretty obvious what he tries. Check out AJAnalysis or Devils in the Detail podcast if you don't see it (gotta go back months though, they've given up analysing games because nothing has been changing for months tactically). It's just a terrible way of playing but it's not by coincidence. And they didn't have to get away with that at Ajax because ETH played a different setup because he could move within the Ajax setup. He just came to United and played that insane way because of United's history in transitioning and the players availabe (paraphrasing the man himself). Of course United fans expected him to do what he did at Ajax. Man, it's so sad, we have no instance of his style of working anywhere because he hasn't played like that before and people trust so much in him.

I was ten Hag in...then I was leaning towards ten Hag out...now I'm firmly ten Hag in though it's largely out of spite. I think ten Hag is capable of winning the league, I genuinely believe that but I think that being capable of doing that isn't enough and it might be better for all involved that United have a fresh start. I think ten Hag could co to Bayern or Barca and be successful. But with more dressing room leaks over the past couple of weeks, I want ten Hag to stay purely because of the players who mouth off to their friends in the media. I want them to walk in to the first day of preseason and shit themselves because he's still there even though they thought he'd be gone. I'm tired of the player power bullshit. It's been the players that have been the problem for the last decade, not the managers. When ten Hag came in, I thought the job needed was so big that barring relegation, I didn't care where United finished. Then ten Hag went and won a trophy and finished third, papering over the cracked. But the job that was needed then is still needed now. This season is what I thought last season would be. A lot of players need to be sold and players need to be brought in to play the system ten Hag wants to play. Of course, the club needs to be strong and not spend what they did on Antony etc but that's a club issue more than a manager issue. ten Hag has a year left on his contract. I'm willing to give him that year under the new structure provided he's given the players needed to play the system the club wants, a system (not rigid obviously but a general way of play) that can survive even if it turns out ten Hag isn't the man to implement it. It is also worth nothing that Garnacho and Mainoo are now regulars. He's promoting youth and has given other young payers minutes. That's very important for United and there are a handful of players coming through the youth ranks that could benefit from ten Hag's coaching. Ultimately, the goal for United has to be to win the league, not finish in the top four. I and I think most United fans will accept finishing outside the top four for a couple of seasons if there's a clear path towards challenging for the league. ten Hag or whoever is manager needs to ignore the media BS and focus on that goal.

I can't take another project. The amount of injuries has completely ruined this season.. we've had like 60 odd individual injuries this season.. no one can stay fit. Also we are forgetting how utterly shambolic we were before Ten Hag came in. In addition to this, Rashford been absolutely fucking useless this season, Bruno too has been poor in large parts of it. No consistency in the backline due to injuries, how many differnet back lines we've played I have no idea. No one talks about how Mainoo was also out first half of the season too. It's also pretty clear that Ten Hag is very dependent upon a consistent team, last season if his team won he wouldnt change the lineup regardless of the opposition.. All of this PLUS that we have FFP over our heads and cant afford another 'project'. And then we look at the alternatives like de zerbi, potter and southgate.. cmon man thats trash. None of those are better managers than Ten Hag. I don't see anything but keeping him being the best and only option.

ten Hag took over the worst United team in Prem history. He transformed the way we built from the back with Martinez who he's been without all season, and missed the 2nd best player at playing out in Shaw. He wanted to transform the midfield with de Jong, instead was given Casemiro. Casemiro has been out long term this season and played badly when fit. We've had 1 striker to use this season and he's a 20 year old who has just come to the premier league. Man Utd's 11 and full squad is not one of the 4/5 best in the league, why do we expect him to finish 4/5th?

ETH shares a decent amount of the blame for this season, namely not having the team organized at times and some of his lineup/sub choices at times, but he's had to deal with an insane amount of injuries, poor player form, poor player attitudes and bad transfer policies. There's no way he would've wanted Ronaldo, Sancho, Maguire, Varane, or Casemiro, and for almost every single transfer that was brought in since he's been manager, people forget that THEY WEREN'T HIS CHOICES. Onana wasn't his first choice, it was the guy in the Portuguese league (his name escapes me right now). He wanted Kim, FDJ, and Kane, for example, and he got Varane, Casemiro and Hojlund. Yes, he wanted Antony, but he wanted him at the BEGINNING of the window, when Ajax would've happily taken $40-50mil, and instead, because the transfer team are idiots, they waited until the END of the window, when he cost more than double. Yes, he wanted Mount, but that's only because he didn't get his other midfield choices, and Mount has been injured so often, we don't know the verdict on him yet. Long story short, is ETH the best manager in the world? No. But I do fee like he hasn't been given nearly enough credit for all of the shit that he's had to deal with, especially away from the pitch. I can see both sides of the argument to keep or replace him, but as long as they make it to the FA Cup final and don't get embarrassed, I expect that Ratcliffe will keep him for at least the start of next year. That said, if they replace him with De Zerbi, Nagelsmann, or someone of the like, I wouldn't be opposed to the change.

Last year we were lucky, Liverpool and Tottenham were both well off the pace and we benefited from that. I wouldn't mind giving ETH one more year, he was good once, but with Klopp going there is potentially an opportunity there because they might be in transition. So we need to strike while the iron is hot. Nothing this season suggest ETH has got a fucking clue, so I think we need to switch. Cant be Potter, he has proved he can't work with a shitshow and we are one. Southgate, fuck that. I'd take a punt on Nagelsmann. But I'm not confident about it. Maybe sticking with ETH is better.

To me, this is crystal clear. If we beat the record of 12 losses in a single Premier League season, he MUST go. Injuries or not, he will be the worst United manager in the recent history. The highest we’ve been in the table is 6th throughout this season. We’re sitting on 12 losses at the moment with negative goal difference. If he manages to grind draws and wins until the end of this campaign, he should be given another season, but WITHOUT a new contract. Let him prove himself first. He must prove that the first season wasn’t luck, and only then he should be given a new deal if he manages to get us to contenders again. If we lose another league game, he should be sacked.

It's been so obvious what we've needed to do for years and made even more evident by Arsenal recently. Build a solid young team and let them develop for a few seasons. We're still 5 years behind City and just chucking money at 30+ year old players on stupid wages has clearly not worked for the last decade. A lot of our fanbase doesn't help either, automatically thinking we should be making top 4 every season without fail. People need to come to terms with the fact that we're shit and have loads of either shit or lazy players. A big clearout in the summer is needed and start to develop a team that can grow and evolve together. If you're reading this Man Utd board then feel free to give me a job.

We will have a player like Amad come in and show us some fight and get a winning goal but then we can't see him at all since then just because Ten hag wants to stick to his favs that got him some results last season. If Ten hag would have been ruthless like dropping Rashford and in some cases Bruno after consistent poor performances just like he did with Ronaldo and other players I could possibly say ok maybe one more season with a better structure and we can see what happens. But Ten hag buys players he wants and then refuses to use them after not performing too good.....Then there is the fact that he is in his second season and you just can't understand what type of football this guy wants to play......As bad as Arsenal was under Arteta first 2 or 3 seasons you could see what they wanted to do and how they wanted to play from his first game in charge
