It depends on the quality of the unit. Some can be worn in the shower and still look great. Some cannot. You also have to be aware of the glue or whatever adhesive you choose. Some glues don’t hold up well in water and some do. If you’re choosing to wear a unit, guy or girl, you just need to know what you’re signing up for and take care accordingly. I have units that are over five years old. They cost me a pretty penny but so worth it.

A lot of people don’t want to go bald and can’t get hair plugs. Might as well do something people have been doing for centuries. Besides, we don’t know what goes on in other people’s lives. When my Nan had to do chemo and her hair fell out, it was traumatic for her so she first wore headscarves before she got a nice wig. Nothing too fancy. Just slap a cap on, put the wig on, maybe use some glue for the lace front and she’d go about her day. And, because the hair isn’t going to grow and stays in place if it’s synthetic, you can do a lot with a unit. Heck, have fun with it. Collect wigs for all occasions. Have wigs on wigs.

What's better is to just accept the fact that you're bald. My hair line was receding in my teens. By 19, I accepted the fact that shaving it all off from now on was my future. I don't understand why it's so hard to accept. The way barbers charge today, if I had a full head of hair with a strong hair line, I would still shave it all off.

Wigs were originally made for men for costume purposes back in the day. It just took of when women used it for beauty contests and other things I might be a little off on the reason women used them for but I know men were the first. Now were they used like this also I don’t know I just was told by someone that did this for men also. I want to learn this also. The girl that dose this for men charge like $2500 and up she said and she do like 6 heads or more a week easy she said. So do the math with her own shop. She also braids hair also, not no basic braids. Her and her husband just them two and one of the kids wash hair. You will wait weeks to get in her shop for you hair done.
