@@stevepolanco9887 Well, Allah set boundaries for mankind on certain things and if you go beyond that it is a sin for example we have been given the freedom to speak, listen and view the world around us but if we use our mouth, ears and eyes for evil (which is out of boundary) it is considered a sin. But Allah will forgive you, no matter how big the sin is if you feel guilty and truly ask forgiveness for what you've done. That's how simple it is. Peace

Im a revert. No one ever tried to convert me. My path to islam was a long one but the final stretch was definitely inspired by sisters who attended the vigils for the pulse victims. They never said a word to me but their presence and modeling of islam spoke louder than any words they might have said.

I agree! I knew someone who barely practiced any Islamic moral standards but would push friends to become muslim. I used to find it very annoying. To me let your actions speak for you. While I was born as muslim, I have always had doubts as child and the only force that kept my faith stronger was the stories of the prophets and the family of prophet how they never declared who they were to a stranger but their high moral standards, and non selective compassion was what brought many non Muslims into Islam or God in general.

I can appreciate this video. There are many scholars who have their views and some of them only make sense within Islamic sense. As in Muslims but not necessarily to non Muslims. I say this because I see a lot of comments from non Muslims commenting on Muslim videos and it's always the Muslims inviting or even imposing the faith of Islam ( come to Islam they say ) but we don't even know if they themselves are practicing or even making an effort to improve their Iman as Shabir said towards the end. Telling others to practice or believe in something as the Quran says but we the believers do not do as such. Anyway, I'm a Chicano on the outside looking in so I'm always looking for answers to certain inconsistencies that I find within certain videos and certain Sheikhs that don't necessarily align with those of Sheikhs like Shabir. Just when I find many answers to questions that come about they always seem to be thrown off by these inconsistencies that I speak of. And it always seems to be an opinion based off a hadith for some reason. It becomes mentally draining and even discouraging. However, I still don't lose hope. Even when I seem to have lost it. some people know about a specific hadith and misuse it or abuse it. Islam is progressive, so it is important to understand the hadiths within their own context...those are called mutaghayirat, changeables. others thing are tawabit(fixed)

This is why I rather listen to knowledge from convert, revert Muslims from the West because they may be able to interpret the message through examples that Middle East Muslims may not because of the culture difference and customs. For example the Quran says" kuntom khayra umma okhrijat linnas" "you were the best nation brought forth to people" I am not Arab but I am Berber and a Muslim but Arabs did oppress my people and they often quoted this verse but they understand Nation as "Arabs" are the best nation...The quran clearly talks about believers but their twist it to mean their race. another example they would use "one Religion, one language(Arabic) they often say this when Berbers request more rights like the right to teach their language. to most of them they view anyone doesnt speak Arabic as not fully Muslim...but had they read the Quran they would have realized God says" among god's creation is the difference in our tongues and skin colors" don't lose hope, and ask as many questions as you like.

Alhamdulillah I said the shahada ten years ago today. It would have been a lot sooner had it not been for Wahhabis telling me I had better hurry up and say it or I would definitely go to Hell or the bus driver who said “I’m going to save you from the Fire!” The elephant in the room is that religion is usually a result of one’s birth- I find it a little hard to believe that Allah al-Adl would burn someone in Hell forever simply because they were born in the wrong culture.

Tbh Ive never met a Muslim who tried to convert me, in the UK, but would say that the Muslim community in general should do more to make the Religion visible and accessible to everyone, if it was presented by people like Dr Shabir, I believe a lot of people would find his teachings on the Islamic viewpoint add to their lives, truth is truth regardless of the source, whether the Quran, Bible or anywhere else, as Socrates once said, "I cannot teach anybody anything. I like what Dr. Ally is saying. Unfortunately he clearly does not speak for all Muslims when it comes to preaching and converting non Muslims to Islam. My other thought is that whenever a non Muslim person engages with a Muslim who has been proclaiming the virtues of Islam, the non Muslim has every right to express what he sees as problems in Islam. Hopefully he will do so respectfully. But whether he is respectful or not, too often he is deemed an "Islamophobe" in an effort to silence him.

But what I have seen is the so called Islamic scholars devise a strategy to defame or belittle other religions to show Quran is great. well as far as I know, at least in my area, Islamic preachers are more focusing dawah among muslims to strengthen our faith. most reverts were curious person who come and ask first to the seikhs. we don't walking around non muslim's neighborhood knocking door to door telling about the word of God.

Hmm very VERY fascinating; however, can we please revisit this topic! I personally am struggling very much with this response. I really need to hear more. I just feel such a strong inclination to give Dawah, ESPECIALLY to atheists, agnostics, and Christians. The good doctor covers the basic philosophy and practical aspects of the topic beautifully. Generally Islam has been spread well through traders who could be judged in many ways e.g. Truthfullness like giving correct weight ,quality of goods ,fair pricing ,non-profiteering ,mannerism in giving services ,patience etc The least desirable would be like the modern practice of 'hard-selling' and the various 'sales gimmicks' and 'small prints of terms and conditions'.

Islam cannot answer these things: If God is so compassionate, why a child is born poor and another is born rich. Why a child is born with disease and while other child is born healthy. Why a child is born with retardation /mental illness/ handicap while other child is born without these. Because , that particular soul which is born with such difficulties have committed sins in its previous birth. God can only give punishment to those who has committed sins. Without a soul committing any sin, God cannot extend punishment. similarly god can render happy /healthy/wealthy life to those who are doing good deeds. God cannot give good life, if a particular soul does not do good deeds in it previous birth/births. Only Hinduism has this answer. Islam is failing here. Ok coming to the point. We , as Hindus know God is one. But God has to right to replicate himself/ God has to right to come in different forms/ God has the right to tell people to worship in a particular form, to worship idol or not to worship idol. Our Vedas tell clearly Ekam brahmam. God is one. But we see different things in this world, different people, different energies, different living things. Vedas orders us to worship idol thinking it is God (because God is omnipresent i.e. god is everywhere, you cannot deny the fact that god is present in idol. infact God is present everywhere). Then vedas say, to reach above idol worship and meditate on a powerful/bright light which is none but god, as god does not have any form or colour. Understood? Hinduism is like a ocean, Islam is like a river. You cannot understand hinduism so easily. 100 terrorist organization are there only in Islam, no other religion has any terrorist organisation. this is due to reason that quron has verses very violent. Change the quron by removing controversial verses, islam will become normal and acceptable faith.

I'm a Christian but have learned from this channel, it helps me to think and understand my own faith better. I've been studying the near-death experience for years so I'm more open. My view of sharing my faith is similar to what Dr Shabir is saying. I believe God sent prophets, teachers, and sages to many cultures and others may have started the salvation journey. I obviously believe my faith has the clearist picture of truth as you do in your faith. The other prophets and teachers of God are on the same team as Jesus so to speak, so they aren't different ways.

At least tell converts they will spend the rest of their life alone and most born Muslims will hate them. That would be nice.That way they would know what to look forward to. I'm saying this from almost ten years in. It's getting more difficult because my Mother became a Christian since I converted and I see her all happy with her friends from the church and the community is so full of love. And then here I am sitting all alone. I want that. And love and community seems to be non-existent in Islam. So so much for some Ummah and holding on to the rope. There might be something like that between born Muslims but a convert will never be part of that as far as I can tell. Quite frankly with the way I have been treated, I am not sure I want it from Muslims anymore. Too bad I can't stay a Muslim and go sit with the people full of love in the church. But they would always be trying to "save me" anyway so I guess I'm just alone for the duration.

Dr Shabir Islam according to your idea of laid backness is not the Islam in practice. I’m a Hindu and aware that my sacred spaces have been desecrated by those who diligently quoted the Koran while making our idols into doorsteps to mosques to be trodden and spat upon before entering for prayer. Your own ancestors would only have accepted Islam under duress and threat of death. You look like an Indian have you therefore in the 21st Century no sense of anger towards the crimes committed on your ancestors? And that too only around a generation or two ago? I’d be so angry I’d reconvert to my ancestral traditions and place my costume in the pit where it belongs as a sign of my new found freedom.
