Shaykh Dr. Yasir: Should Western Muslims who have political access to Jerusalem visit Masjid al-Aqsa? This is a very emotionally charged issue that has legal, social, ethical and political ramifications. Some scholars have given fatwas that prohibit Muslims from visiting al-Aqsa, and while I fully understand and respect that opinion, I very firmly agree with the other group of scholars who allow visiting Masjid al-Aqsa. In fact, I view it as fard kifaayah and a part of our collective obligation to that Holy Land.
In this talk, I summarize the main arguments that some scholars use to prohibit visiting al-Aqsa, and respond to them one by one.

Somebody here said Shakyh Yasir is wrong? No..no...Think as a Muslim and you get your answer. We have an obligation as Muslims to help in whatever means possible, the very least a dua. We Malaysians go there and we support Muslim Palestinians, we stay in Muslim hotels, eat from Muslim restaurants, travel via Muslim transportation. Most Malaysians travels there via Amman and go through Allenby Bridge. I urge all Muslims worldwide to go there and show support. To the Ulama that barks we shouldn't go there in pretext of supporting Israel, should really have his iman checked! - Hj Hisham Osman, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Alhamdolilah, my husband and I recently visited these Holy Lands and I agree with the Shaikh. For those of us who can visit,, please do go. The holiness of Al-Aqsa and the history of the entire place will leave you in awe. May Allah (SBT) open the doors for those who cannot go and may He free those living there from oppression.

Shayk Yasir Qadhi clearly explains the issue/s regarding "visiting Al Aqsa". I love Yasir Qadhi and I am thankful to Allah (SWT) for favouring us with such a scholar, who I believe is great scholar of our time. He has succinctly dispelled all doubts, I unwittingly entertained pertaining to this issue. So, Insha- Allah my wife and I will make the necessary planning for the journey, hopefully next year. I also pray that this noble Shaykh visits our country, namely South Africa, in the near future.

@@empress2423 Al Aqsa is a place where muslims pray to The One God, The creator of the universe The God of Adam, Avram, Noah, Moses, Jacob, Yishmael, Yitshak, Solomon, David etc... Destroying Al Aqsa means destroying the place of worship to The One God... I saw somewhere in a certain video of how an orthodox jew pray which the majority of jewish do not pray like that anymore and it is very similar of how muslims pray. So I thought perhaps we muslims pray very similarly to how Moses Avram, Yishmael, Yitshak prayed at their times. My conclusion is we muslims preserve the way the previous prophets pray.. So...the 3rd temple has actually been built by the muslims whose pray is very similar to how Moses pray... Replacing Al Aqsa by a jewish temple means replacing the PEOPLE who pray like Moses..

@@neverstoplearning9830 Al Aqsa is a shame to Islam. Is a symbol about the ZERO respect in Islam, to other believes... As said, is built ON the Jews only Temple. BTW, did you know that the Qibla of Al Aqsa is toward Petra, not Mecca! as ALL the mosque built, worldwide, in the ~1 century of Islam. Petra, not Mecca Al Aqsa Qibla direction? is easy to check, If the qibla wall was toward Mecca, it should be strongly toward your down, right monitor corner (in google earth in the google regular map option, or in google satellite, when the north is pointing up) WOW Al Aqsa and the smaller mosque nearby (El Marwani) are facing exactly, Petra (u can check easily check w a rule, because petra and mecca are close). In order Al Aqsa to FACE Mecca, it needs to be turned 40 degrees to the east (to the right)... (or the prayers need to pray toward the left corner)

@@neverstoplearning9830 Judaism preserve the core of Judaism (which is totally the opposite, to Islam, but this a different conversation), Judaism does not "preserve" dumb & barbaric practices of the Iron age. BTW, do u really think that Moses, when he said "let my people go!" did he mean to the Ismaelites? He knew them, if he would want to be their "prophet", he would have done that, isn't it? But obviously, he did not want to be "prophet" of the Ismaelites, but of his own people... why Muhammad did not follow after his own ancestors?

Dr Yasir, I agree to a larger extent with you. I think, those of us living in non-Muslim mojority States or Occupied Terrorities have an opportunity to do Dawa work, by our deeds, conduct, by our speech if allowed, like the Muslim's did in Makka before 8th Hijrah.

As-Salamu alykum wa rahmato Allah, From the Fiqeh perspective, isn't there a difference between an occupied land of the Muslims and one that hasn't been ruled by the Muslims yet? You mentioned from the Seerah, and basically based your argument, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) allowed the Umrah, in fact made one himself, under Quraish's control, yet you haven't addressed the fact that at the time it was Quraish's land to begin with, and it hasn't gone through a Fateh as of yet. And we know that an occupied Muslim land obligates Muslims to take certain actions, I don't want to go there, but I am just making the point that their is a difference, and you haven't tackled with that issue at all. In addition, you mentioned the Hadith that urges Muslims to visit the three Mosques and that it was told during the Roman's control over Al-Aqsa, and yet the prophet "said" the Hadith itself, but has any Muslim from the Sahabah actually understood it the way you did and gone their to pray himself before the Fateh? Isn't it a valid argument that such a Hadith is meant for the future and the generations to come, the Prophet - peace and blessings be upon him - ought to have said the Hadith to set that rule and to affirm that belief (about the 3 holy Mosques) and I am not sure it was meant to urge Muslims to sneak a visit to Al-Aqsa at the time to pray. If my points are valid and you have a response to them, please do reply, I really wish you can address them, and if they are not valid, I would appreciate it, if you enlighten me either way. Jazak Allah khaira, in any case!

This is not enough to justify going there. 1. We all agree that this is the third holiest site of Islam. And the prophet agree for muslims to visit it when it was under pagan rule. But the question is, were the pagans discriminating among muslims as to who has the right to visit it? The pagans didn't give some muslims the right to visit it and deny others to do so. Did they? 1. The prophet asked for permission from Quraish to visit the Kaaba. Yes it is an equivalent of visa. But when he was denied access to it, did other muslims who were given permission like uthman go ahead to visit it? I think the answer is no. Didn't uthman know that Kaaba is sacred and he could get blessings from visiting it. 3. The chief of Nadj didn't need any permission from the Quraish to visit the holy site. And at the same time, he was a new convert, but I don't think you are a new convert. Other mature Muslims such as uthman, Abubakar and so forth never visited it at anytime when the prophet or other muslims were denied entry to the holy site. If even you try all your best to prove this fact legally. It is unethical to embark on such a journey to go and see your brothers prosecuted in front of a you whiles you can do nothing but you are given preferential treatment as an American. I keep asking the question, how different are you from them. We know we have no knowledge like you but this is a big mistake you are making. You could could have reached them financially through other means rather than going in the name of the masjid is holy. If you were on a humanitarian visit to Palestine to give them some emotional support and motivation, it would have been better than claim to visit a masjid. The masjid and the Muslim's life, which one will you give preference.

You are wrong, for 13 years in Makkah, Only the PROPHET s.a.w was Brave enough to pray Around the Kabah, Many Other Muslims were prevented, Do u think, Bilaal, Khabbaab, Ibn Masuud etc could pray in the haram? They would have been killed, The Holy PROPHET s.a.w was spared Because of his Sharaf, and even with that, He was Persecute in many Instances. So The Mushriks in Mecca were discriminating as to who to pray in the haram and who wasn't allowed. Remember, ibn Masuud tried reciting The Holy Quran in front of the kabbah, and was a brutal. They beat him mercilessly and yet, the prophet s.a.w was praying constantly in front of the Kabba .
