So, I am going to be shooting for some government grants to finance my business. My wife is a immigrant minority, and I am a disabled veteran. In terms of ownership, Texas is communal so it's 50/50 no matter what that's settled... so to ID as the most advantageous which do you think would do better? Most likely her I figured. Also, know any decent lawyers or accountants in Dallas FW area? LOL thanks for the video!

Unfortunately, I don’t have a Texas referral for you. But you are doing the right thing by consulting with a professional in your area. Best wishes!

To get any benefits from a certified veteran-owned business, you will be required to be 51% owner.

My husband just started a single member LLC for a trucking business. His truck, trailer and checking account everything is under the LLC. If something happened to him if he dies what right do I have to sell the truck and equipment. We poured everything in this business.

Nice video. Is it better to add your spouse as partner or employee? From a tax perspective
@Hall2 жыл бұрын
Great question. I’ll try to do a future video on that. There are a number of factors to consider. As always, keep in mind that this is general educational information. For your particular circumstances, it’s best to contact a professional in your geographic area.

My spouse and I started an LLC sole proprietorship over a year ago. We are finally going to start our business. We are wondering if we should convert the sole proprietorship llc to a partnership. Thanks

Is there concern for one spouse owning if that one spouse dies ?? Is it given directly to the husband or is there something more complex that happens at the death of LLC owner

My wife has not worked in the 26 years that we have been married. She is 48 years old and I would like to get her started in an ecommerce business. The reason for this is so that she can earn the SSA work credits ($1640 per quarter or $6560 per year in 2023) that are needed to secure SSA benefits when she turns 62 years old. I understand that it takes 40 credits to obtain SS benefits. I would like to do the business with her but for all the income to go to her so that we can attempt to get her the required net income of $6560 or whatever it may be for whatever year it is. Is this possible to do.

Hello Aaron, if a husband and wife have an LLC pass through partnership with 50/50 ownership, but file taxes separately, are they both supposed to file Form 1065 at tax time? What if one member has paid for all business expenses, is only that partner supposed to file Form 1065?

This is a complex question that is best answered by a CPA in your state who understands your goals and circumstances.

Hello sir ! Hope you had a great weekend so far ! This video is really helpful but I do have a question about if the husband and wife want to have both names on the LLC and they think it good if each of them pay tax then they will have a benefit when they’re retired . Is that true ? Please explain. Thank you in advance sir !

Hi Jenny. Good question. Are you referencing the fact that by each spouse paying into Social Security, their Social Security benefits level at the time of retirement may be affected?

Hahah. It’s probably violating fashion law somewhere.
