I can't fault the guy for playing for a gold medal. However, look at the 2014 draft. 20 players from that draft have played more games in the NBA. Andrew Wiggins has played almost 300 more games(715 for Wiggins/434 for Embiid). Nik Stauskas basically played 5 seasons and is about 100 games behind Embiid(343). Embiid will be 31 before the end of the season. It'll only get worse.

My guess is that he has had an injury which has hampered his ability to train. If you miss an entire season early in your career, you will not have an injury free career. Oden, Griffin, Embiid, Jabari, Nerlens, these guys sat out an ENTIRE season in their first or second year and we wonder "hmmm I wonder why he can't stay healthy". He's not made to stay healthy. You can't get into shape by not playing NBA games. There is nobody on the 76ers that can imitate what KAT is or Adebyo, or Evan Mobley. The 6ers just gotta put him out there 20 minutes a night and let him play his way into shape but this resting and playing and resting and wondering why he's not in shape is asinine.

Combined with Embid always falling to the floor and getting injured I just don't see how this works. They also patched together a team in the offseason. I don't have a lot of hope for this team.
