They can take any kind of oath out there and tattoo it on their body, if the individual is not about ish, it will mean nothing!!! I believe they are sworn in, local to federal, with one hand raised and swearing/affirming to uphold the constitution…, and that means what?!! It’s all about the integrity of the individual. Exactly! How about requiring previous government experience to become President? Donald doesn't even understand how tariffs work? 🤯 Blows my mind to know don wouldn't pass the background check to become a volunteer for my non-profit agency yet he can be allowed to run for President.

An oathe will do nothing these days. We're seeing that in our police, pur military, our local governments, and our federal gevernments. Without an accountability for breaking those oathes, by a fair and functional DOJ it's but a dream. Sap the monies feeding the persons and institution, you'll solve many of problems.

While I understand what DL is saying, Remember the people we have an office now are elected to office by those of us who vote. I do hope that there are going to be a set of criteria that anyone who runs for office after 2025, must fulfill to be able to run. I do think that all candidates must have a college education, Must not be able to change parties while they are serving in office. If they were elected as a Democrat, They stay Democrat, the four years of their office. And once they are up for reelection, they can change their party. I say that because years ago, when Sarah Palin was running for vice president with John McCain, I saw some videos of a group in Alaska, where she was serving his governor, Tell their members that they should run for whatever party they think they could win. And once they were in office, they could change parties. I never forgot that and I have been seeing that now with Republicans, who are finding it tough to run as a Republican, who decide they will run as a Democrat. So unless we that each candidate closely and change some rules, Then we are always going to be dealing with what I called turncoats and the middle of a their tenure as an elected official. We have people who take an oath on the Bible, now and it means nothing to them. I think a strong list of criteria if you want to run and are elected to office must be established before the next presidential run. I think it entirely important to require that the person who is running has done some public service on behalf of people. People who run for office and spout keywords or phrases, but I’ve never helped anybody in their life or had help from anybody in their life. Many of them have no idea what government is here for. Also, some restrictions around contacts with lobbyist are critical. I know we have some already, but I think they need to be revisited given what we found the Supreme Court doing They are also new criteria for the behavior of those on the Supreme Court and a strengthened option to recall or to impeach a Supreme Court Justice. I think Americans are going to have to change a great deal in terms of understanding what you need and an elected official who is sent from a particular constituency to Congress, But must also hold the nations well-being as his or her first responsibility. It’s got to be country above party and that’s for everyone who Holds any public office in this country. Also must make stronger limitations on people being able to try to establish religious content in public Government arenas. There are places within government that we do not need prayers. Many people attending these meetings are not Christian and should not be required to deal with Christian religious ideas. You have your church and your family and friends for religious support. Now back to what I was saying earlier, people talk about elected officials, as though they got their own their own. They didn’t put them there. Which means we better be about making better choices Who we elect? I think with stronger criteria for who can run for office,, We stand a better chance, but we should never forget people or people and some people just will not behave honorably.

They should also have to carry malpractice type insurance. If, a politician lies fails to follow up on their promises after being elected. They should have to not only lose their political seat, but find a monetary amount and a fixed amount.

Wait! DL should also discuss with voters that too many of them vote for someone and never sit down and watch how they function in office and if they do not function well, you vote them out of office. American voters need to stop seeking the ATM version Of getting rid of bad politicians. We want to elect them, and when they fail to be honest and decent, We want them gone, but we don’t have to. We don’t want to have to work UN-electing Them. We want some magic potion to just remove them. Doesn’t work like that. Once people are elected, they become incumbent. That means the period of time they’ve been an office, Voters have gotten used to their names and too often voters show up and vote for the same person again and again and again again. They don’t look at the records to see if they have follow through on what they promised or at least tried to follow through on what they promised. We want term limits so we don’t have to go back and toss them out that it will happen automatically. no, this is a government America. What is it? “ A government of the people, by the people and for the people?” Which means we have to work as hard as our elected officials to make sure our government works smoothly and efficiently. You don’t get Show up once every four years and vote and then complain. You gotta be involved with your local government, your state government and your federal government, and making sure the people who think like you do about the heavy issues facing our nation and our families and voting for those people, Monitoring those people, and if need be unelect those people
