Goshers, The St.Roses girl is saying the fact. I know someone who got pregnant, she was in SHS 1. The parents went to the school authorities and talk to them and they allow the girl to continue her school. Right now am talking the girl has given birth to baby boy and the girl is In SHS 3 now. The pregnant students should be keep in school and study.

From the anatomical changes that comes with pregnancies, the physiological changes, it is not advised for the pregnant student to stay in school, especially in the boarding school. Trust me no one will be there for her, not even her close friends. When she has to bear with the pains it comes with, there is no way they can concentrate in school. The frequent visits to the hospital for check ups, in my opinion it is best they stay out of school until they are okay to return to school, taking into consideration, the babies.

We should also bear in mind that, some parents reject, sack and sometimes even disown their girl child at moment they find out they are pregnant. They leave them to suffer for themselves but in the school, they will get one or friens who will understand them since are the same age mate. I think they should be given chance to stay in school if they are willing to go through the emotional and physical torture. I love you Sufia from ST. Roses👌💖💖

But the question is, if we choose to keep them in school, for how long can they be in the school? Certainly from the 6th to the 9th month, she cannot be in school with all the complications that comes with pregnancy. I beleive they should not be expelled. However, they should be allowed to go home from the 5th month and then return sometime after birth.

Of course, pregnant girls, in high school, should be deferred or committed to day-student status if they board until after delivery. This may be necessary because the teenage girl will require the kind of care the school may not be able to provide. Moreover, the school should not be responsible for student's bad choices. In any case, the deferment is not a punishment, but a safety consideration.

If they are willing to continue their education then they should be allowed to continue. Even if you expel them and they really want to continue their education will definately go to another school so expelling them won't slove anything. What if it was their choice. I mean people get raped, sexually harassed and they get pregnant. And they are threatened not to say or tell anyone else they'll hurt them or their loved once, and they only speak when a pregnancy comes out of it.

This is quite an interesting debate. But truth be told . Charity begins at home and family is forever. The right environment and people to contain a teenage pregnant girl is the family and not the peers or the school. All the girls did really well with their submissions.

I think they should b expelled/defer for a year to serve as a deterrent to others and also pregnancy comes with a whole lot of complications for which staying home will b the best for them cos they need regular checkups and others so being in school won’t help at all cos they won’t even get the sound mind to even learn getting baby kicks, vomiting, and other pregnancy wahala.more over being expelled from school isn’t the end of education u can continue after giving birth

I think this is where the educational systems should really take a look at preparing these students to have some sort of vocational skills so if things go sideways for them they would have somewhere to start from.
@sophiankpelei5517
@sophiankpelei5517 Жыл бұрын
You see here, we been deceiving ourselves thinking we do not need much educational background to pursuit vocational skills. Let me tell you, we need it because world has changed. In Ghana you can only get degree in Vocational skills when you used your SHS certificates to continue university. You look at the situation where some of these students want to reach that level, what are they going to do?
@AtoAbbiw
@AtoAbbiw Жыл бұрын
@@sophiankpelei5517 you don't seem to get my submission. what I meant was if attention is given to vocational studies as well it will go a long way to prepare these students when they are out of school. lots of these students will graduate with no entrepreneurial skills.

Oh come on, which school will accept a pregnant girl in their school not speak of feeding her and taking care of her? For this pount i totally disagree, because if you can think of her friends being able to take care of her, why not her own parents? Her parents too can accept the situation and see the way forward. If i have a pregnant friend in school with me, i wouldn't get the time for her that much because don't forget I'll also have to get the peace environment to study. Even if people get pregnant at home, with the care and proper food, they sometimes face complications, then why do we choose school instead?😊

About the confidence and wassce stuffs, yeah the child must understand she made a mistake or a wrong decision and every decision has it's consequences....that decision was a negative one of course she must understand she has to pass through some tough times to get back on track. After all people write wassce and later find out their career as at now has nothing to do with what they studied back then. I totally think she should stay at home. Mommy can hide her🙂
