Should quilt binding be cut on the bias or on the straight?

Long time quilter here. If I am sewing a double wedding ring quilt binding where the edges of the quilt top is curved then yes I cut my binding on the bias but for straight binding the straight grain works just fine. Especially using a binder attachment.
