Louise Simmons is rolling in his grave. Squatting wide to depth is arguably much better for athletic performance. Wide (wider) squats develop the glutes, hamstrings, and hips - the key to athletic performance, and sideways pressure helps to develop lateral quickness. Not to mention most wide squatters have less wear and tear because the movement doesn’t overly rely on the quads.
