Lewandowski ran a lot in this game and pressed as well as he could. Consequently, Flick replaced him with Torres. Of course, nobody could have predicted that he would then score 2 goals. Hopefully it will give Ferran a lot of confidence that he will play better in the future. Maybe he's the perfect supersub.

I understand the concerns of Ferran, and I agree with most of the comments here. I have been studying him ever since he came to the club. The potential is there. I see it. I think he reminds me of Riquí Puig a bit and a bit of Vítor. I really think if he plays a pure number 9 as a substitute, it will be optimal. Xavi experimented with him on the wings, but he’s just not a winger.

88 minute or so on a counter full burst sprint lewadowski is not keeping up to score that goal BUT i think lewadowski is a better starter for games unlike ferran. If ferran can show he can score more goals and have better touches i wouldnt mind him starting over lewa in some games

Most of barca's defensive weakness will be solved by a young cf who can press. Raphinha can also be used as a cf the way he was used against BVB at times bcz he is our best at pressing but in that case you will need a new lw. That's where the links to Leao makes sense. My next year front line would be : Leao Raphinha Yamal

Ferran is more mobile and can push the backline But you forget one of his worst issues as a 9 is that he can’t do anything in tight spaces like receiving the ball against a low block team. Not great in the air too He only seems good cos we’re playing an imposing team or a big side that don’t sit deep We’ve seen enough under Xavi.

I think Lewa isn't being as good as at the start of the year because the team doesn't generate as much for him and the way of pressing against dortmund relied on him. With his advanced age, he can't really be pressing fully for the whole time he's there. That's why Ferran was more suited for that specific match and position. Pressing.

This is going to be controversial, but for me Lewa is not really essential. He's a good fox in the box but off the ball he gives nothing and in today's football you need all your players pressing etc. I'll be very very surprised if Lewa still starts for Barca next year. With Lewa, Barca's attack is way too predictable because Lewa is a fixed 9 and not dynamic at all. I've always said that Barca doesnt need a striker, they need a forward that can play false 9, makes the attack way more dynamic and unpredictable

Did you watch the same game I did? Ferran is terribly wasteful. His first was from an amazing volley by Fermin that the keeper spilled. Ferran was just there. Total Lewa goal. The second he nearly screwed up by bobbling an artistic pass from Lamine, taking two unnecessary touches away from goal looking for a pass out, and then turned and made an extremely lucky shot millimeters from the foot of a sliding defender. Sorry, but your worship of Ferran is a joke. Flick should have put on Pau in that position.
