I haven't played 4 neither sunbreak so I'd acc like to fight against it on wilds. It's design is pretty cool and it's fight seems like another interesting twist to the usual fight against flying wyverns. I also like the concept of raths having an "arch-nemesis".

I'd love Seregios to return. Sergios has the strongest ecological ties to the Raths of any other Wyvern; Rathalos' true rival, Rathian's nightmare, the robber of their cradle and the murderer of their children. While Seregios did return in Sunbreak, other than his cinematic showing how cool he was by killing a Rathian the game's limited ecology focus led to us never getting any unique interactions between Seregios and the Raths. I feel they need a World style game to really show the full potential of their rivalry in action, with unique turf wars and behaviors. Of any returning monster, I believe for this reason Seregios is one of the best candidates to return for Wilds.

Rathalos is fine in the newer games imo, he was more annoying in Gen 2 and 1. But I do agree, he needs to return and with a variant.

@@RathalosWatch the only game I can tolerate him is rise His other versions barley move above 5/10 for me Especially in world I couldn't stand him because of his flight even with the new move set Let Alone his boring,predictable and slow fight Fighting him is just boring and have nothing special Especially if you fought rathien before him Making either of the 2 just a clone One fly less but use poison like spraying water And the other fly every time he smell an incoming attack The original one is just plain trash The reason I kind tolerated him in rise is that he got a whole rework But that wasn't the main reason The main reason is that we had wire bugs that can make us follow him where ever he goes There is more reasons why he is trash for me But I don't really care as long as Sergios gets back He is just 100 % batter in every way in comparison to me honestly

Pretty sure Steve does have a preferred locale but in 4u the story was that the population of seregios where being pushed out by a frenzied apex seregios. Going by the story the locale they where running away from was similar to a desert, it would also fit with Steve’s colours and his aerial hunting prowess. Of course it ultimately doesn’t matter as steve is shown as adaptable to multiple locales hence his invader status. He’s such an under appreciated monster I hope he comes back again.

Seregios is probably the most underrated flagship, and my favourite invader, so hopefully he gets a bit more love this time around. He definitely deserves to get a subspecies or variant too, and I've been thinking that stench or defense down might be interesting options for that. Stench in particular would synergize well with bleed, and there's still not really any high threat stench monsters aside from maybe steel uragaan, so it'd be neat to have a seregios fill that spot. That said, I'd be happy just to see him in a more dedicated invader role again with more monster interactions, he seems like a pretty natural fit for wilds in that regard.

Our boy Seregios was kind of done dirty in Sunbreak. If it does come back they'll really have to make equipment as good as it was in 4 Ultimate or at the very the weapons like in Generations. But as far as the fight, it's that great being one of the few monsters that can cause bleed damage. The music is good too. And it's the first 'pinecone' monster. I really liked grinding it in both 4th Gen games. We need our golden pinecone armor and weapons to really come back.

serergios should be returning since in the second devstream for wilds there was a monster flying in the background during the greatsword doshu fight that looked very similar to serergios with its headspike and tail

I'll just say this; The greatest problem that Seregios has is the fact that the Magalas exist. In order to actually shine, Seregios deserves to be in a game where the Magalas don't show up. If the Magalas show up, they virtually steal all of the spotlight from Seregios. Seregios is still one of the only flagship monsters that doesn't have a subspecies or a variant of its own.

Espinas is a awesome fit to wilds, i can see him being a actual peacefull monster, like in rise Capcom needed him to be aggresive and fight fast as possible because if not espinas could have a Bad time in his return to Main line, so him coming back slowing down a little is a good option, i can see apex monsters trying to take down the sleeping beast and do the first part of damage then espinas wakes up angry and he make the fight a "tie"

A lore bit says that Seregios is adapted to live into alpine mountainous enviroments, so I hope we get a mountain map that gets confirmed as its original habitat before being misplaced! Overall it is 10/10 pick and my most wished returning flagship alongside Zinogre, especially since it was retconed into a pack hunter in world so it could benefit from the new pack mechanics Seregios also is seen on flocks on some of its cutscenes so it could benefit the same way, and also in its cutscenes it is shown grabbing and yeeting monsters could be implemented on the fight too, as doshaguma does.

Unpopular opinion here incoming - I think Zinogore is the most overrated monster in MH franchise and needs to go on a break. I am tired of him in every game. His cool and all, but needs a break imo.

@@RathalosWatch I personally don't mind staple monsters because they're likely very cheap and quick to adapt into the newer games because all the assets and stuff all are ready I see them more of a "bonus padding" just for atmosphere and give more variety to set building (wich counts, having litteraly 1 water and thunder options in base world makes going over the main story less enjoyable) And as for zinogre specifically, this game with the possibility of giving it a pack would keep it fresh enough to overstay its welcome for one last game, if it needs to take a break, make it so it does in p6th wich likely won’t have as in depht pack mechanics... if at all... monster hunter is kinda like pokemon when it comes to battle mechanics, we can't be certain it is something that will stick or be like underwater combat, giving us a lot of "gimmick" monsters that we will never see again.

@@Mirawaru nice write up. I am not really sure if Zinogre would be the type of a creature that would need a herd tbh. I think he is fine the way he is. There are a lot of people who are also tired of other "mainstays" such as Tigrex, Nargacuga and so on. I am really curious to know how far ahead in time Capcom decides which monsters to include in a future roster for the next title and what factors they take into consideration. Something that gives me hope for Seregios returning is that the Devs have confirmed that some weapons will have skills on them, and something unique about seregios in 4U was that his weapons had a sharpening effect when dodging at the right time (which was changed to the armor skill bladescale hone in his armor in sunbreak). So I'm hoping they put his skill back onto his weapon again and that its a sign he might be back :)

If Seregios were to get a new form, I think one that steals with its talon attacks would be nice with the flavour being it purposefully cuts open your pack. It would differentiate talon attacks from its other moves that inflict bleed, and it could simply be upgraded in other ways such as having scales that last a little longer on the ground. This would fit as simply be a variant that is more experienced at fighting hunters as it is more so a powered up Seregios rather than having a new focus or direction.

1000 times yes. Very fun fight in Sunbreak. To me at least... I loved using Shrouded Vault to counter the dive kicks. Especially the double dive. Always loved the design of him and his gear and weapons.

I could go either way, since he was in Sunbreak but I'd be leaning more towards wanting him to return. He's such a fun fight, aside from the unique aggravation of having to do your triple air combo into diving wyvern consistently for Rise IG with how much he moves. Making sure that last hit of each air combo hits, to start the next one and ramp up the buff isn't easy with him. Seriously, Astalos is a training poll compared to Steve in that game. He's still so fun overall and Sunbreak's rework of the bleed status needs to stay. No longer is it just kind of poison but ticks more or less, if you are moving or not respectively. Instead it's a chunk of health with that status so if you get hit that chunk is gone on top of whatever damage that attack that hit you does. That chunk also grows as you move. It's a way more unique take on the status, having an open wound that is getting disturbed and opening even more as you move. This creates a great dynamic of trying not to get hit but enhancing the risk if you do as you have to move, as you try to stop periodically to progress the curing timer by crouching which makes you really slow, so the monster can take advantage of it to basically hit a weak spot. Bring Steve back or not, just make sure bleed works like this from now on. It's the best status for creating tension that we have in the series. I've had an idea for a subspecies of Steve for a while, it was originally a lightning version but, with all the thunder flying wyverns of late, make it dragon. This idea was for his scales to be used more, less often intending to hit but instead ot make traps. What I mean is, have them crackles and fire shocks between them as he attacks them to form like bleed mines with elemental trip wire that forms a web between them form time to time with his attacks. Rei dau may have some seregios in him, when I first saw him though I saw a reworked version of the old flying wyvern concept art for zinogre. Could easily be a bit of both. The pin in Sunbreak is badass but many of us missed the memes of his old pin involving him tap dancing on you.

YES the answer is yes absolutely, Steve is on of my absolute favourites of the entire franchise, definitely in the top 10 and I think he'd be a perfact fit for the windowed plains, hell Id go further and say she should be a core roaster member like diablos or zinogre, but this time I'd like him to be smaller as I felt he was too big in sunbreak and make bleed work the way it used to, and being back his weapon gimmick this time capcom, and give him a turf war with the raths, I'd also love to see him be able to pick up and throw smaller monsters at you, I also think they should just pin him down as a desert/Savana animal, he worked as a Invader in 4u for story reasons but not because he was a inavder in the same way deviljho or Bazelgeuse is

Seregios fits in Wilds... so yes. Generally speaking 4th gen monsters, Gore Magala aside, need more screen time. It's only been 2 generations from the 4th generation, and monsters from that era aren't as popular nor have been featured much in the games. We could do without the likes of Tigrex, Nargacuga, and Diabolos for once. Seregios could fill in the role of an early HR invader, teaching newbie hunters of the invader mechanic upon reaching High Rank, while Bazel and Jho (preferably the subspecies for both) would do it only from Master Rank.

As much as I loved him in sunbreak, I think he is too much like Rey dau design wise, plus he was just back in sunbreak. I do believe the dlc could benefit from him though

Not a big fan of Steve. He’s just ok for me. I don’t dislike him per se, I was just never particularly impressed in spite of his fight being quite unique compared to other flying wyverns. I don’t think he will show in wilds. If there’s only ~35 monsters in the base (more than world) I don’t think Capcom cares enough for him to be in a base game again after 4U. Maybe in the MR expansion.
