Sometimes people judge others base on type of career not necessarily what you make. For example; in China and Vietnam doctor make regular salary which is equivalent to 40-50k U.S.D. but they are highly respected and admired 🙄 I think in the west it’s same concept but slightly different. Example; mechanic, nails tech... I know they could make up to 80-100k plus but people look down upon those profession. Whenever people say I’m too smart to be a nails tech i just say “thank you” and move on. That simple comment tell me “how smart they are.”

Lol. Everyone has their standards. I’m not judging. In my culture there’s the whole education level stigma where they won’t even look at you unless you had a bachelors or a masters degree. Back when I was single, I had people (even family members) tell me it’s a shame that I’m not going to go get a higher degree, even though I was already working at the time. I was even told that they would never introduce me to anyone unless I had all their requirements. Difference is I have had no student loan debt, I make well into the 6 figures, and am now happily married to a woman that appreciates me for who I am.

Or at least be able to support each other and what the other does. Meanwhile, if men would stop being fooled by some pretty thing batting her eyelashes and look at her character instead, and women would stop trying to turn frogs into princes then half these problems are solved and, better yet, avoided right there. The idiosyncrasy's of both genders, right there. It's really people's unreasonable, impractical and foolish expectations that create most of these problems to begin with.

I remember I went on a date once with a guy going to a top medical school. And at the time I was working IT help desk and working on my masters in information technology. He was not really impressed by my career and what I studied. My goals at the time were to move up the ladder and learn more technical skills. We definitely did not go on a second date. Now I’m an IT systems analyst working on making databases for equine pharmacology. I like what I do and I hope to teach what I know now. I think it’s good to have an honest conversation what your goals are and career choices. If you guys don’t agree than two people don’t have to keep seeing one another. I still don’t regret what I studied and what I enjoy now. You’ll also find people who will accept you the way you accept yourself too.

In relationships, men want to be respected and women want to be cherished. If she dates a man in a profession she doesn’t respect, she will not respect him and therefore not be able to fulfill one of his core needs in the relationship. Now-Lots of people in those professions just don’t know that it’s harmful or potentially harmful to people. Us women are always being scolded not to try to change a man. Yet here’s a woman who is heeding that advice; and she’s being low-key criticized for NOT setting out to try to change one.

I think women need to figure out what they want in life super early. Men have the luxury of putting off family planning until mid thirties with little negative affect on life. Women suffer all too often trying to build a career into the thirties and then realizing that the eligible men aren't interested and starting a family is becoming a pipe dream due to age and fertility dropping. My strategy was to get my career started and stable as much as I could by 25 and meanwhile date a man no longer than 2 years before breaking up if no engagement. When I was 25 I was in my career field and stable and independent and single. So I started dating aggressively and casually, worked on my looks (lost weight, did makeup etc), and I met and married my husband within 9 mos. He's dope. Stable career handsome and same religion/morals. I'm 28 now and he's 32, we have two kids and I'm now free to continue my career aspirations without fear of never having a family. It's called planning and execution. I reccomend parents to be upfront with their daughters about what they can really lose if they neglect dating and family planning early if that's something they want. We do our daughters a disservice pretending they are the same as boys.
@denisewhite3902
@denisewhite3902 4 жыл бұрын
Don’t get me wrong I like your strategy and what you said is right but that is IF having a family is what THEY want. Studies show that more and more women do not want that these days. Most of these girl’s that are picky are being that way because they aren’t desperate ENOUGH. Why people think that women aren’t aware of their own biological time clock makes me laugh. You don’t need to keep reminding them. If they aren’t ‘settling’ then chances are it isn’t THAT important to them. Gee 😂😂

Why did you focus on your looks- makeup, weight?
@tandyrichae6194
@tandyrichae6194 4 жыл бұрын
@@denisewhite3902 you're making a good point. But it's very true that women routinely don't consider the actual consequences of neglecting family planning. It's almost an afterthought or a "mad dash" to find a suitable mate in the mid thirties for so many ladies. And I get that many women just don't want families, that's cool too. But I think we should at least set our daughters up for success by being completely clear about the situation they are in. Girls are not boys and we need parents that shoot straight about that. As women age fertility drops dramatically as does the dating pool get smaller. Men just don't have the same limitation so yes it needs to be drilled into daughters heads that they need to THINK HARD about what they will spend their precious youth and fertility doing.

@@juliettezea9507 I focused on my looks because most men are attracted first by a person's outward appearance and I was looking to attract as many men as I could so I could pick the one I liked best. It was all part of my strategy. I did a ton of research before I embarked on the 7 months of intense online dating that lead to me meeting my husband. It was strategy and numbers. Then when I met him, it was intentionality and falling in love. Boom. Been together 3 years and happy.

I think this is what DR and his co-host meant: sure, dating a firefighter, an Executive Chef, cop, or someone in a fancy desk job in the high-rise may be “exciting” or “sexy.” But are they aware that those careers have long and exhausting hours? Or that their jobs may require 80%+ of their time and even then they could be called at a moment’s notice. All those things are unfortunately never considered and can damage a relationship.

I'd advise any woman dating a man who's obsessed with his career to RUN - fast!!! You will always be waaaaaayyy down his list of priorities which isn't a nice place to find yourself, trust me: one day he may have to move location if he wants to get promoted and then you either have to leave YOUR family, job, area, friends etc to follow in his shadow and it's often without any formal commitment! Let him go before he destroys you.

I am not sure why so many nasty comments here to shame this girl. If she’s looking for a serious long term relationship it’s important for her to determine and understand what kind of partner she wants. I really don’t get people who tell others not to be “picky” or just having some kind of standard when choosing a life partner. Is it better to just accept whoever in your life with no self respect? Choosing a wrong life partner can guarantee a life time of unhappiness. You won’t just make a big investment decision randomly and a life partner is the biggest investment you can make.

It depends on how hard and how long she is willing to search for what she wants, given that she is around 35. She needs to write down what she values OBJECTIVELY, and look for that among 100 men. Not looks. Not age. Get a list of ten or 20 men that fit the values criteria -- and if there aren't ten in 100, then search out 100 more and get to ten. That is the advantage of the Internet -- basic data gathering can be QUICK. Out of of those 10-20, she would have a decent chance.

This makes me think. I do Car detailing and paint correction/protection and Professional coating installation. I’m only 22 and if I’m lucky currently(with this economy). I might make $20k this year. It’s a Lower paying job, it can be higher paying at times. But I love what I do, and I take great pride in my work. I treat every car as if it was my own and do it to the best of my abilities. I’m happier than I’ve been in a while. So now I’m thinking is this a turn off for someone looking to date me. Should I switch career paths?
@GMNGChristian
@GMNGChristian 4 жыл бұрын
Don't worry about women right now. Focus on yourself and making big bucks; make sure you learn how to invest that $20k, don't just spend it in a paycheck-to-paycheck sort of lifestyle (that's how you stay broke). Develop your financial foundation, and as you get older you'll develop your confidence and surety of self over time. Then when you got your millions at 40 or so, you'll know what you want in a woman and can start looking for your 18 year old house-wife. ;)

The only instrument you could buy with that much security would be government bonds, which pay a far lower interest then a whole life policy.....
