I’m an atheist and a secularist and I understand it very well. It’s value. A gallon of gas is value. A loaf of bread is value. A smile is value. There can always be more value created and exchanged. Money is stored value, and how value is denominated. Without understanding what value is and why it has importance, you can’t create value. Someone wants a house. I say, go buy one. They say, I can’t, I don’t have the money. I say, go build a house. They say, I don’t know how. I say, the local technical school will teach you to be a contractor in the building trades, and their program builds a house and sells it every year. It’s not hard.
@rustymozzy2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm not sure how being atheist is a direct link to not understanding how money works. If I have no money, I can provide a service such as raking leaves. The leaves existed. The rake existed. You value a clean lawn. I can do the work. I get paid for the work. Also, I can collect those leaves, compost them, sell them. I have created a useful product that has value from a product that was not valued. If I'm a pleasant person, I'm clean, and I'm punctual, I will have more value to customers than a rude, messy, late leaf raker. I can expect a higher income to reflect the higher value service I'm offering. If I start to sing while I work - I probably won't expect repeat customers, I'm a terrible singer and don't know many songs... I can do all of that without having a religion...

“It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle…” just a little reminder. Even Christ said “sell all you have and give it to the poor, then follow me” and remember how sad this made the rich young ruler because he had so much. There are fewer blessings greater from your creator that you not be labored with more than you need. “Lay not up for yourselves things on earth…lay up for yourselves treasure in heaven”. There is nothing wrong with creativity, there is, however, something fundamentally wrong with accumulation.
@aqueen132 жыл бұрын
On this same point, if there is no action towards being financially independent (aka a form of accumulation) then there would be nothing to give to the poor. Jesus never said that man’s money was bad to have, just gave him a next step for strengthening spiritually. The lord doesn’t want everyone to be needy and poor, and without any form of accumulation (or self reliance skills) we would be. I believe he wants his followers to work for being successful so that they can then pass on a large portion of that success to others through charity, teaching skills, or whatever other means possible.

The reason why we have in God We Trust on the money is because someone demanded it be there, not because there was some belief that money was spiritual. That's a causality fallacy. My spiritual side is actually against having "In God We Trust" on the dollar because "Trust" is a financial term, and our money is indicating that God = Trust, which would to be saying God = Mammon. Now I don't think that money is the root of all evil, but desperation is. Desperation for fame and fortune are perhaps the greatest desperations, which is why money and popularity are usually seen as evil instead of desperation.

Capitalism is the system of production. You produce for yourself, or get paid to produce for somebody else. Everything is production If you invest you can participate on the gains from production, you spend then you consume a production. If enough people understand this and love it. Then taxes becomes easier to understand and the country it's in their proper track to increase revenue, control inflation, and the currency stay strong and competitive. If enough people believe they don't win nothing, then state will take production profit to itself, that will lead to corporation flying away or dying in the country, the rich will go away and mismanage funds collected through taxes get scattered leaving people with no money for social programs and no jobs to provide for their family. Then the state will need to force people to work, to make the country produce. If the country don't produce enough and again mismanage the funds. The the poor population of a state will suffer, scarcity and hunger, this may lead to some goverments do criminal activities to survive. This is why I LOVE CAPITALISM AND LAW AND ORDER.
