I keep it on sports mode, I feel like it responds better. Comfort mode starts in 2nd gear so you don't peel out in the rain. A fresh battery helps with electronic issues. Nice ride!

What up! My C230 lags a bit, too. No electronic issues. None. Everything works. I got the coolant top up message just before the engine let go. My fan stayed on a lot, as well. Had the radiator pressure tested and there was a pinhole. It never leaked coolant, nor was the coolant level ever low. Now, with the new '08 2.5l engine (I have an '06 C230), the fan issue is nonexistent. I've got a new radiator and no coolant top up message. Got plans for this dope daily.😁

I’m gonna have to check out the radiator maybe possibly change it and see if that solves the fan on high. But again my buddy’s shop did a scan and seems like a communication issue with the fan and gate module

I agree the lag is real on the c230. But when it does finally start moving it moves. Only major mechanical problem i had was a bad fuel pump. Im at 154k miles on mines and still going strong! Also the top off coolant and windshield fluid for some reason are running on the same system from what i read. Mines usually comes and goes and both are full

What symptoms were you have with the bad fuel pump?? So the coolant and washer fluid seems to be a common thing. I’m yet to check to see if the sensor isn’t working for the coolant leveler

I have a 2003 c320 when I got it at first it had bad coolant leaks and I replaced the radiator, coolant hoses, thermostat, temp sensor and I just replaced the radiator fan with a brand new one and it won’t turn on no matter how hot the temperature gets. I’m sure it’s a relay issue but I just don’t know which relay goes to the fan.

If it was a bad relay it will present as a malfunction on the dash as coolant visit workshop. When you turn on the AC does the fan kick on?

Ik I’m late to the vid but I had the same problem with my fan for me it was a simple fix I had accidentally pulled a coolant temp hose out that connects to the back of the left valve cover when I took the air box off all I needed was to push the hose back together. I do also notice a bit of lag in the throttle response I replaced my accelerator pedal sensor and cleaned the fuel pump it did seem to make a difference but I think these cars are just a bit sluggish with throttle response

It throttle responds could be related to the fuel filter or pump. I haven heard from other owners that it is sluggish with throttle responds. Not to sure on what could fix that. I sold the car so not much i did with that or the fan

The washer fluid and the coolant level sensor are on the same circuit, the fan will kick on if the coolant level drops below a certain threshold, actuating the fans, the low washer fluid can also cause the coolant low light to come on, which basically means, the fans can kick on from having low washer fluid or a damaged washer fluid reservoir that leaks, German engineering 😑

I have a BMW Z3 3.0i that's I've been thinking about selling. Used car market would give me about $8,500 for the Z and then I plan on buying a C230 with the cash. I saw a 2007 C230 on FB Marketplace with only 43,000 miles for $6,100. That's a VERY good buy WITH money left over. Pretty much everyone is saying that these cars are bulletproof so I'm glad I could find one with such low miles. The car would be for my little brother so I needed something reliable. The fact that yours had almost 270,000 miles is an welcomed boost of confidence. Thought about getting a Honda Accord or Camry for him, but those Japanese cars fetch way too much money for what they are. Yeah yeah yeah they're reliable, but it's really overrated at this point.

They are great when taken care of! You also have the C320 option for him as well! Thats the M112 engine which are bulletproof also.

Looks to me like the past owner filled up the car with the incorrect coolant. Mercedes coolant should be blue and or like a clear yellow tint if you use the Zerex G05. Looks also like you might have a faulty coolant level sensor (easy fix) or your washer fluid sensor would be bad as well.

Yeah I need to get some time and see if I need to replace the coolant level sensor or washer fluid sensor. I didn’t even know the washer fluid sensor can throw a check coolant level. Coolant is another thing to replace or look at

I would start with maintenance. I always do with my cars. Like engine oil, transmission fluid and filter, spark plugs, coils and wires, complete coolant flush, check the brakes and brake fluid. That’s what I would do.

Hey bro! Back again with alittle bit of insight and helpful knowledge on our c230s. The you said your throttle response is alittle laggy? I had the same issue. There's a way to reset your throttle sensor! I have an 04 but I'm sure it's the same!

Litterly a 3 minute process, and made my throttle response like new! Let me know if that helped!

It’s a certain way to drive the c230 it’s automatic so for better acceleration you wanna drive then rev your the catch the gear that’s how you drive the automatic and it depends on what type of driver you are either a cruiser or someone drive like a bat outta hell or a pro meaning you really have a passion for driving smooth fast paste driving So Drive hit the throttle to the floor let get them catch the gear

Have the same car but my problem is i always have to top up the coolant because it leaks. Also at time gives me warning on the dashboard that gas lid is open. Also the check engine warning light is always on. My wiper does not work i have use the wiper wash rather when its raining. How do i fix these probems?

Check where the coolant is leaking from and replace the part that is leaking the coolant. The gas lid light sound like you have a Evap leak. hard to tell you how to fix that because it could be a number of possibilities. I would start with replacing gas cap, or cleaning out the charcoal canister, depends on what codes you have I can tell for sure. What are the check engine light codes? Check the fuse for thew wipers, they could be blown

Not really. It usually turns on high when the car has been sitting on idle and needs to cool down or when driving hard and needs cool down

@@HeyboysGarage mine too does the same sometimes on cold starts but I also realized that when the car reaches operating temperature, the fan doesn’t come on so I plan on replacing the coolant temp sensor
