Should The Leafs Try William Nylander At Centre Again?

To me, your 2nd line ctr is Domi whilev Taveras drops to the 3rd line. Now you have 3 balanced lines. Nylander and Marner remain on the wing.

It’s worth a try. The upside would be having domi and Matthews together again. If it doesn’t work then likely your suggestion will ensue.

@@aamurphy agreed. After seeing the chemistry of Mathews and Domi last year, I cant wrap my head around why thats not a for thing???? I just cant understand why they have 5.5 wrapped up in Lilly and Kampf and didnt go get a proven 3rd line center. Minten needs a year in the AHL. Honestly, thats just an awful call by management. MILK AND COOKIES type of call.

Patches/Tavares/Nylander as the second line. Domi should be on the first line with Matthews and Marner.

Nylander at centre? No. And Domi should be on Matthews’ wing. I would like to see Domi-Matthews-Nylander and Robertson-Tavares-Marner. And then Knies-Holmberg-Jarnkrok I suppose? McMann-Kampf-Dewar? Reavers will slot in some nights. Forgetting Patches tho. 🤔 ig if Robertson doesn’t impress the coach Patches will be there. I’d be OK with Jarnkrok leaving tho…I think. I really Nicky Bobby here so I hope he’ll get the chance to score some goals.

First of all CAP, you’ve never seen Nylander play Center…ever. They’ve never given it a chance, Keefe didn’t nor did Babcock. Not sure what you’re even saying. Willy’s game yells centre. A puck moving dynamic player with insane hockey IQ and far and away the best skater on the squad. He has all the attributes to be success, they just need to see through it.

No use Marner for sooo many reasons. I've been posting that for months. He is a tradtional playmaker, not a wall guy. Overdrive finally asked the question today in their headline but never actually talked about it. Sooo disappointing. Change the narrative on Marner. He's always been miscast as a winger.
