You're ignoring a vital piece of the equation. When you have a roster with a number of guys on big contracts (Love, Jenkins, Jacobs, Gary, Jaire, Clark, Mckinney, Preston, etc), draft picks become even more important cuz you need those cheap rookie contracts to offset the expensive players. Otherwise you end up with a top heavy roster with no depth and a maxed out salary cap.

Garrett makes so much sense. Other years we had multiple holes where a trade wouldnt have done much. This yr we have 1 hole and Garrett fills that. It also makes sense to the fact that next yr your going to have to draft edge Rd. 1 or 2. Bc Van Ness has not shown starter potential yet. Essentially you swap your 1st Rd pick for Garrett. There isnt no D player coming out better than Garrett. And he still has at least 4 more years in him. We also have to look at the fact you probably move on from Preston next yr. And we will get some draft capital in when we trade Malik Willis. Fuck all that "the team is young, the window is open for years to come". The window is open now. Myles Garrett will also give the team a morale boost just knowing nobody can beat us. This is a Legacy defying move. If Gute has the balls you make this move. Garrett, with Smith, Gary, Wyatt and Clark, Brooks, Van Ness, Kingsley makes this DL #1. Make the move Gute. Give up the 1st this yr, and next yr 2nd and 5th. Garrett is a HoF player

Myles Garrett only if they can get him 3rd or less. Don't see that happening. Max Crosby would make sense at 3rd or less. Defensive line is the Packers weakness right now. If they can get one of those 2 guys I can see it helping significantly. Guys like Gary may not be really made for the Hafley Defense ( at least not at the level of play needed to match his pay).

Garrett would likely be 2 2nd's or even a 1st and a 2nd because of how much dead cap the Browns would have to eat (unless the Packers paid off some of that cap, which I don't think they really can with their current cap space). Crosby would be even more expensive. Upwards of 3 1st's. 2 1st's and a 2nd at minimum.

The need/price isn’t right. Don’t get me wrong, either of them would be a massive addition. I truly don’t see a big problem with the pass rush though. If they’re planning on getting rid of Preston next year, it would make a little more sense, but they still have a solid 4 edge guys that all deserve a fair share of snaps. Either way it’ll be a massive cap hit for a position that they’re already pretty set at

I'm looking at it differently, we don't need edge rushers. If we're running a 4-3 we need to run good pash rushing dline men who have the majority of their snaps over the tackles. Gary and Preston are used to being outside the tackles, but are not used to being lined up on the tackles.

There is really nothing that can fix the packers. They run a 43 and they need more than just one of these players to fix any major concerns. They should have just stayed in the 34 and improved it. When they made that change it totally means more work on a defense that 8 out of 9 drafts were defensive players. Now switching to the 43 will make them focused on the defense much longer. I still believe love needs better wrapped around him. People will keep denying it but they won’t be Super Bowl ready unless they get talented pass catchers that show up week in and out. Not just here and there. They need it all the time

First, the rush isn’t bad at all. With QBs they have played they have done the right thing…contain them in the pocket and make them throw. Have you noticed all of the turnovers? That’s from proper schemes and giving your players a chance to win. Now, that being said, if the price is right for draft stock either of these guys would be a HUGE addition to the team. Both are extremely talented, good guys…sometimes you need to go “all-in” to win the crown.
