In Iceland, which has a very small population (under half a million), it is common to have one's genealogy on one's phone. Therefore, when you meet a new person with the potential for a relationship with them, you can both check your phones to see if you share too many recent ancestors to have more than a platonic relationship with them.

Genetic testing and family tree analysis are important for evaluating the risk of birth defects in children born to close relatives. Most countries have not banned cousin marriage yet. In many countries, even consensual sexual relationships between adult siblings are not criminalized (not marriage). In others, such relationships may lead to 2-3 years of imprisonment. In more restrictive countries, sentences can exceed 7 years, while Middle Eastern countries often impose much harsher penalties. Without proper risk evaluation and the avoidance of multigenerational close-relative marriages, the genetic consequences can be severe, as seen in historical cases like Tutankhamun. In Pakistan, a significant number of marriages occur between cousins, often continuing as a multigenerational practice, which poses serious risks. However, in my opinion, if consenting adults choose to marry without external pressure and after conducting proper risk evaluations, such marriages should be permitted. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
