When a person tells you who they are, BELIEVE THEM!! it will save you a ton of grief! DIG- are they HOSTILE, COMBATIVE &/or DEFENSIVE of AN OUTSIDER audaciously recounting, (factually, historically & supported by documentation) OUR NATIONS' many sins?. Cheesit! Thats EASY!!! THEY ARE ADULT CHILDREN OF ALCOHOLICS! They'll hate the one pointing out the abuse, BUT WILL DEFEND & PROTECT the ABUSER.. My Rx; theyre hopeless, dont even spare a minute It will COST you way more than you thought They dont want help liberating themselves! Its only subservience that THEY KNOW, Its their oppression that gives them meaning Their SLAVERY defines them (its allegence, its noble & seemingly voluntary, in there own minds) & If/when THEY ARE ready Something shatters & the become blessedly disillusioned & they WANT now to hear what we have to say They know where we are.. We do kinda know about this it’s in the History books taught in school and the documents have been declassified since back in the 90s it’s not like it’s a secret that the government tries to keep the public from knowing. Quite honestly when you’re in the center of politics in the world your attention span for a particular issue in a particular part of the world is short unless if the public thinks it’s important enough and the president makes it important you can argue that this stuff in Latin America is important but when it gets blurred into the countless other issues in all corners of the world it becomes just another place with problems to the average American there’s good and bad of being the world police. From the perspective of an American. I think this show lacks perspectives of Americans.

You must be bullshitting! How did I get to a leftist liberal video? I’ll admit he crushed this dude. But from my perspective, the old Americans arguments were correct. Amazing how our preconceived political beliefs can change the whole essence of a debate. I think the host was a far superior debater(?), but not on substance. The old guy is absolutely correct with most/all his arguments. I’m an American conservative and agree we shouldn’t be meddling in other country’s affairs, like we are in Venezuela. WTF? And we’ve made mistakes in the past. But in aggregate, our contributions to the entire world have been a net positive. This Mahdi character (the host) was able to control the narrative, the pace-and he had the audience and network on his side! That’s why it appears to you-and even I-that he won the debate. But dig deeper-MUCH DEEPER-into the facts and realities/situations as they were in the past, and you’ll see that the American was just as persuasive with the substance of his arguments (to me, at least) as was the host. Same thing they do on all “news” networks these days. Even Fox, but they take the conservative point of view. That there exemplifies the problems of our politics today. Sides have been chosen, loyalty to party has superseded logic, and open minds no longer exist. It’s terrible. I’m more liberal than the Republicans on many issues. Yet I’ve only 2 choices. Not good. Sorry for ranting, but finally, WE DO HAVE US “JOURNALISTS “ SHARP AS AND SHARPER than this limey bloke. Tucker Carlson, Ben Shapiro, Sean Hannity, Gavin McGinnes, Mark Levin, Candace Owens, Larry Elder, Ann Coulter,....the list goes on. Any of these mentioned would destroy this leftist Limey with no problems.

@@spidermight8054 Anyone one who thinks that the aggregate of America's contributions to the entire world have been a net positive has got to be doing something very strong to be so delusional! Or the other possibility is that you have very little regard for the life and well being of others, if it means you can make a buck. Because those are the morals behind the actions of the government. I would not even try to recall all the lost lives due to America 215+ years of war. I can only imagine that you are ignorant of the true history and have inculcated the myth that you are attempting to pass of to the unknowing! I honestly find it quite ironic on America gets involved in other country’s governments and rulings, but doesn’t allow the same to be done to them. We see these again and again. All because these countries do not meet the political or economic agenda of United States. Is got nothing to do with the leaders of these countries being communist or evil. Is all about who has benefit for USA and how can United states fain these benefits. Just take a look at Libya, General Gaddafi, he was best buddies with America and the West because he did what they wanted him to do, but the minute the rules changed and he wanted to do something for his country, they overthrow him for same the same reason as they put him on there. American Corporations should be held responsible for their actions and damages performed in foreign nations. eg., oil leaks into their rivers, crimes committed, and other laws that the US maintains within its' own borders. 'America' has been interfering in central , south and north american affairs for a century. Evidence of their involvement has made these countries worse. They have also involved themselves in the middle east, and every country who gets their 'help' is worse off.

The interviewer approaches this dialog in the stance of a prosecuting attorney. It is not an attempt to exchange information as much as an effort to prove a case and discredit the "witness"

There is a case for US to review it's foreign policy to ensure more effective global policing. Unfortunately it's approach is often predicated on sowing discord to change regimes with no regard for collateral.

Why is there an information banner at the bottom of this video that says, "Al Jazeera is funded in whole or in part by the Qatari government?" I don't recall seeing similar banners under CNN, Fox, MSNBC news stories. The latter have included large Saudi owners, defense corporations, and other such characters in the past that would be equally worthy of notice.

Old Otto didn't care for many of the facts cited by Medhi so he resorted to the old Republican ploy changing facts to fit his "theories." In fact Otto thought everyone needed to get with the program and use his facts. Medhi should have called him on that.
