My best guess about that would be that they didn’t have the ability to do a slow motion replay right then and there on set. They definitely could’ve done it in post production, but that could’ve detracted from the flow of the show. (Coming from an editors perspective)

We had 99% of the technology we have today that impacts our quality of life, yet not so much that we are over involved with tech. SkyDancers were my FAVORITE toy as a toddler!!!!! Some of my very first memories are of me playing with my sky dancer in my childhood bedroom while I was supposed to be cleaning it up. I ended up shoving everything under my bed and my brother told on me so I had to go back and "redo" it.
