Appreciate everyone asking if I lifted, and though I didn't, there was already a winner who commented right at midnight and I'm sending a disc out to! Not that I want to fail my accountability again, but if I do, I know I have a lot of yall who will feel more than comfy making sure I know about it!!! :)

Oh dang you're in my area! If you're still in the pensacola/milton area you should try out the Blackwater milton course, it's a great one they've been putting a lot of work into.

Not only entertaining, but also really helpful in building a bag, especially considering the amount of subpar disc reviews on KZbin. Keep up the good work buddy.

The Fury for me is the big brother of the River. 9 speed, flies -3 turn with 1 fade. A controllable amount of turn, but it reliably turns. Great for easy rollers that don't die out to quick and beautiful hyzer flips.

Broke my fibula a few months ago and starting playing again this weekend. Hard to get a lot of power now since my leg is still weak. The Genius works great at the moment for hyzer flip to flat shots

I had a one in base plastic. Flew similar to a dx leopard, but the plastic felt much better. Chalky-rubbery. Disc was also called the Sunbird before they renamed it da Yeenius.

I had a Genius for one of my firsts discs when I started Father’s Day of 2021. It was a great disc to help me learn the game and it beat in well as I learned. Just gave it away a few weeks ago to a buddy with less arm speed and he’s been getting good use of it.

I love how you never throwed the disc before, make an assumption, and then go to work.👍 I too thought it would flip a lil easier and was quite surprised when you threw it on h1. Also love that you keep failed throws ⭐️👌. Good stuff

I just got a Streamline neutron jet and it's stupid flippy on a flat release it isn't super bad on a extreme hyzer with about 60% power, the Amazon seller sent me a 167g instead of the 174g I ordered I just didn't think it would be that off from the reviews I've seen on the jet 🤷
@adza25542 жыл бұрын
When I got a Genius brand new, like the one you're reviewing it flipped up slightly then faded. Give it a few more weeks of use and it'll definately start to fly like a -4. Personally I bag one for a roller disc that I can throw hard flat and have it flip over to angle. Also very useful for pushing hyzer shots when you can't move very much.

My twin boys love playing disc golf and I was hoping that maybe you could make a video on what to bag for young players. My boys are 7 and last week they got their first birdies. As of now their favorite disc is the mind bender or MD1. Thanks for the great videos and keep up the good work.

Hey Timo! I honestly am not the best coach, jsut sharing my journey, I would say for a driver, this genius could be a good one, especially if they like discmania already! I'd look for one that's a bit lighter ( IU always try to go for the maxweights, but somehting in the 160s in terms of grams would probably be great! Exciting that they're getting into it and that they got their first birdies! I'm sure there are many more to come, and the mindbender is a GREAT disc for them!

Did you even lift yesterday bro. Also I’ve been enjoying your training and info videos. I haven’t played in around a decade my dad got me into disc golf back when I was like 10 and I’m 30 now. Im not sure if that’s completely accurate it may have been sooner but he passed away last month in October and we were close but disc golf was one of the things we did together growing up. I hate that I wasn’t able to play with him and when I finally made time he was sick and unable to play. I have a few of his old discs that weren’t too beat up and I’m hoping to get better again to try and use his discs in a tournament. Thanks for being a big help and motivator.

Tried the genius in base line....acts kind of like a Teebird, straight then pretty solid fade left. Also tried a tursas mid in base, basically no turn and pretty hard fade. My only conclusion is that the base plastics must shrink alot when they cure. Both discs in base are board flat and fairly high PLH. If you want a nice flippy FD then go with an underworld from westside. Such a weapon to have on especially holes with steep inclines going to the right.

what are the odds! I just found a no name premium one of these in a tree branch and I've really been enjoying it. I usually play around 2000 or more feet so I get a real good flip without a burn, it can roll pretty easy too :) plastic is stiff for me but not bad

Roc or the TeeBird. I've tried bagging both of these and can't seem to love them no matter the hype surrounding them. I like flippier discs like wombats and comets.

The active base is a lot flippier, but I’d also expect the discs to be relatively inconsistent given how it’s manufactured.

@capitalrl96322 жыл бұрын
I think it has to do with how fast you're throwing the disc. Slower disc speed means it won't flip as much. Just now going through this with my personal disc. Have a Warrant that flew straight as can be when I first started. Now that I have played for a few months now, the Warrant is a floppy disc because my arm speed has increased.

The Discmania Rockstar (8 5 -2 1) in the same plastic is also supposed to be understable but most definitely is not. The Genius (for me) is a great disc and definitely not as flippy as the numbers suggest (again for me). I think an Underworld would make a great disc to test with these if any of your Patreons have not mentiond that one yet.

Honestly even in base plastic it pretty neutral and doesn't really match the numbers. Had one in my bag for awhile for some water carries on my course. After it beat in it pretty much became unusable understable though.

I had a Genius in my bag until yesterday. As my form and arm speed have improved - and as it wears in - it became super flippy. Yesterday it turned hard around some trees out of sight and then presumably rolled into the woods never to be seen again. I’m ok with it and I hope whoever finds it gets good use from it. Good video - it’s not you, it’s the disc.
